  4. Hi, anyone going? I will be there working so it would be great to say hi.
  5. Spectators are welcome and there is no cost. Each trial will usually run for a few hours so if you get there at lunch time there might not be too much happening. A good percentage of the competitors will not be from Geelong though, there will be people there from all over - it is a lot different to the normal Sunday classes, but at least you can see what trials are like if you are interested one day. Just try not to eat right next to the rings where the dogs are working LOL. My first ever trial we had to walk a couple of feet away from people sitting ringside eating hamburgers, I s**t myself but luckily the dog just kept on going.
  6. Poor thing. A nice meaty bone was the first thing I thought of too
  7. Over- for any type of jump Tunnel Walk it - for contact obstacles see-saw - like to discriminate for this tyre go weave go - just keep going straight here I rely a lot on body language. I often get names mixed up for tunnel and tyre when running but we manage to get through with body language LOL
  8. most people use a nose touch on a target at the end of a contact obstacle edited to add - I think the theory is that it is less stress on the dog's back etc if its head is low
  9. Congratulations Tassie. Are you coming to the Nationals?
  10. Well normally I would, after all Kira is our partner, but don't know if I will hold up myself.
  11. Congratulations on the results everyone. I may get out doing agility soon. I did a training session yesterday and I don't have any injury problems so can't wait
  12. I think maybe you have just seen the 'other side' of e-collars . here are some links http://www.k9events.com/e/Ecollar_IAABCJou...2007%5B1%5D.pdf http://www.k9events.com/e/E_collar_Article.pdf http://www.k9events.com/Shock_Collars.htm
  13. Kay Lawrence has some great books but haven't seen any DVDs
  14. Have a look here under the leadership heading - http://www.k9events.com/behaviour_Self_Control.htm#nilif - this website is loaded with everything doggy, is a fantastic reference
  15. I will be going, not 100% sure if I will be entering or not though, I just wanted the games day to finish off 1 title but it is on a Friday
  16. Although Ian Dunbar is good I much prefer Gwen Bailey. She also has a new book called Puppy Pre School which has similar information to the Perfect Puppy but not as much information but lots of great illustrations for training exercises. They are both fantastic books but the choice would depend on how much theory you want.
  17. Huge congratulations on your title
  18. lucky thing I forgot all about it LOL. Reuben had to be vaccinated and with all the rain I did completely forget to come down
  19. Bras are even better if they are brand new and expensive
  20. I have a black dog harness and love it. It is comfortable for the dogs. I phoned, measured 3 dogs and they made it adjustable to fit all 3. The beauty is that it is very easy to get on quickly.
  21. Sounds very good. I went to a seminar she did before she moved to Australia and it was great. She was a bit partial to Bella though as she told me she nearly got a Brittany before she got her Border Collie. You can learn heaps from just watching her as well as partcipating.
