Great photos everyone, can't believe we are all still going. This was Bella's shot for last week (week 23) - had a funny one this week, I think she was smelling the grass a little bit too intensely LOL ETA - no animals were injured in making this photo

copied from website "Just like last year Towner Jones Photography is helping us sell t-shirts to raise money for the Springs of Hope Orphanage in Kenya. 100% of the profits from the sale of these t-shirts will go to feeding and care for these great kids. "

I have a graphics tablet that I never use, can't get used to it, but a relative does computer art/painting with one and does amazing things with it

Great photos (of course). Loving the chooks - went to the Melbourne show once with country friends who bred chooks and I had no idea how excited people could get over a chook LOL

I haven't done the challenges for a while because I have been so busy, so now anything goes I can finally join in again This is my first June photo of Bella at the river yesterday in the freezing weather, great time of year for it - her grey hairs are really starting to stand out now

Serena, poped down stairs today and I think I saw a photo of yours? Did you have a Mastiff sitting on the floor next to a toddler in a chair?
-
Great photos everyone, especially considering how cold it was today, glad Asha's date showed up.

Calling All Photography Enthusiasts! It's Back!

I have put in a big effort this week, so I will be there tomorrow. I didn't know about the judging so will have to check that out in the PM. Didn't know about food and wine show either, might have to change lunch plans and check out that one. I will also be there Sunday but for bootcamp -
The best photoshop editing advice I have received came from a professional landscape photograher. He only edits one element of a photo at a time, so selects the element and then adjust using curves, levels, saturation etc to get the look he wants, very rarely would he do an edit to an entire image.

I have bought a few photography books lately, one a yearbook from 1980s, another dog photography history book. It is an eye opener when you read these books to see what people think is copying actually orginated much longer ago then you think (although not photoshop, along the same thoughtwave). You can see Rachael Hale style (shallow dof with eyes sharp) from the 1970s, dogs framed by things have been around since 1920's, the popular dogs and legs from the 1920s which is repeated in later years, dogs on decking looking down in 1960s and again in 1973. In the 1980s yearbook there were landscape and portrait ideas that are popular now in that book.

a) what breed you have - Brittanys - 3 b) what special needs your breed has (eg working, terrier, sporting dog) - active gundog, so need mental stimulation firstly, physical exercise 2nd c) what 'enrichment strategies' you have to prevent boredom, destruction etc? Having three dogs I really find life for me easier as they play and entertain each other a lot, making it easier for me. They have all attended formal obedience classess and agility classes. Walks need to be very regular and more often when they are younger, you can get away with a little bit more when they are older, mind you my 10 year old still comes out and walk all day and loves it. Walks vary in length immensely, quick walks are about 20 minutes. I believe the mental stimulation is even more valuable then the physical exercise. I am lucky to have the perfect environmental enrichment for my dogs too, big trees with lots of birds, can keep them amused for hours ETA - a good marrow bone keeps them amused for hours/days too and is great for the teeth. When my oldest girl came into season the first time and was locked inside she chewed a mattress. After that I made sure I had amusement for her, the Tucker Balls worked really well due to the continued noise even when the food ran out, and of course bones
