I use photoshop elements which is not terribly expensive, to get a thin line around an image select all and then edit stroke - for a small pic 1 px is enough, that is what I have used to get the border around my sig picture. If you want to add a few images together you need to increase canvas size and drag the other photos on top and move them to the right position

Excellent, just let me know when. TLC - have you considered joining your local camera club? They normally have competitions etc where you can test your skills and learn a bit too. Anway, Vigex was great to watch from the judging side, and Geelong has another winner, from the people portrait section which was fantastic. It is amazing watching the judging and discussing some of the best photos. I know the girl who won the portrait section and when it got down to the final few and her print was there it was very exciting I assisted a judge called Andrew Chapman, which was just perfect for me as I love great photojournalism. He was a photojournalist for some time and now does personal projects including a few books, so was great to see how he viewed the prints. I am now proud owner of a signed copy of his Shearers book .

The shot of Red and Alexs took a bit to get right. I use to fire off heaps but now learnt to wait for the expressions. Red is a bit harder to work with as it all new and exciting for him. Ralph I pretty much can get a photo from him within 10 fires. He is the Kate Moss of the dog world. Thanks for the comments he is a wonderful boy. Chazer pratically learnt stay while I was taking his photo, I reckon Red must be the same LOL, although Chazer hasn't been a model for a while, he has been overtaken by his mum

They are just fantastic. The Master Groomers association run competitions and have creative grooming like this as part of those. Apparantly there are strict rules regarding dyes etc and they use vegetable colorings. You can have anything you like, cartoon charaters are popular too The general public must be asking for this now too it seems, I can imagine it would be rather expensive. The groomers spend months in preparation for the competition

This weekend I am helping out at the judging of the Vigex International Photography Salon, which is Geelong's own international photography competition. This competition attracts some outstanding work so I am really looking forward to it. You can see their website here - http://www.vigex.org/ The winning entries will be on display in the Geelong Art Gallery 31st July to 29th August. If you are interested in photography it is worth a look, and last time both the catalogue and the DVD of all accepted entries were available for sale, so come along and take a look

Thanks everyone. This is the footpath where we went for photos, it is raised, allows for flooding I think. Was a beautiful spot, I had never been there walking before but will have to

LOL, those are the first photos I took when I was doing the group photo for the picnic, so there are some happier pics later with a bit less mud ;)

You perfected the back lighting in the 5th photo and it is just fantastic and the tones are really lovely. The photo after that I would try and bring back the exposure to reduce the blown out bits, still a great photo though. I do like the composition of the 3rd photo, very effective

Lappies are very cute - I am fairy god mother to this Lappie which is why I get to go to all the Lappie picnics, this is how she looked while we were eating - she was trying to give Bob a run for his money
