I also want to check out the city (Melbourne) to see what it is like on a Sunday, might be good to get some well trained and socialised dogs in the city for some different photos

Whippets are quite welcome too LOL. Addicted2gold - Geelong isn't really too far to drive from Melbourne

That would be fantastic, I am in Geelong (Victoria)

Hi. I am looking for some doggie models, I want to take photos to use for a calendar and as cards etc. I would need a release signed and would give a print to the models. I am in Geelong so would prefer something reasonably close to Geelong. Let me know if you are interested and I can send you more information. I would love any breed but below is a list of breeds I really, really want - I have crossed off breeds that I already have models of. Afghan Hound (in full coat) Airedale Terrier Australian Cattle Dog Beagle Bloodhound Borzoi Chow Clumber Spaniel Dogue de Bordeaux English Springer Spaniel English Setter Finnish Lapphund Golden Retriever Keeshond Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen Pointer Pug Rottweiler Saluki Siberian Husky Corgi ETA Bracco Italiano

Some great photos. I am slipping behind a bit - so I am cheating and used some photos I took on a walk a week or 2 ago - they weren't taken for any purpose, but they were taken in July I is for Itch J is for Jump K is for Kaching - cheating still - this one I had taken for the 52 weeks of dogs. Kaching is the sound of the cash register - a local camera club had a pet photography night so I went to help and Bella was one of the models. I bought this throw rug that day to use for some different poses - cash register was going kaching rather loudly after some very expensive vet bills the day before but people loved it so it was worth it Doing Scott Kelby photo walk saturday so hope to catch up a bit then - unless I talk too much

Thanks for the great suggestions so far, keep them coming. This is more the type of thing I am after - anything else similar?

Hi. Can anyone recommend a source of good quality gourmet dog treats for my dogs? They are very scarce in Geelong

Great photos everyone. This week I went to the local camera club to help with a pet photography night, Bella was one of the models and I took this one of her. She was such a good model, it was very busy and very crowded, flashes going off constantly and she lapped up every single bit of attention. She hasn't done this trick on command of putting her head down since she was very young, we did a quick practice the night before and she was doing it in no time. I was experimenting with a single light for this photo, using a hand held flash with a diffuser.

The course looks great, enjoy. I have the 1.8 lens myself. $150 seems like a typical price. Try Camerahouse if you have one handy too -
Digital Photograhy Course And Which Lens 1.4 Or 1.8
helen replied to GregW's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
The 50mm is very versatile and can be used for a wide range of subjects, generally their most popular portrait prime lens would be the 85mm. If you take a look at this thread you will see a huge range of shots taken with the 50mm lens http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...54547&st=30 - the beauty of this lens is the price so even if you decide you don't like the 50mm and you have the 1.8 you haven't lost a huge investment in $$ - BTW 50mm is my favorite Here are a few shots I have taken that will show just how versatile the lens is ETA _ Where are you doing the course? They may have specific requirements for lenses
