-
very cute, love the way he has his eyes closed
-
Like that cute photo of her with the biscuits on her paws. She is looking away even though you showed her the food
-
That is exactly what he does!!! 99% of photos are looking the other way, he is not a fan of the camera but is warming to it I think ETA he was told to stand and stay for these photos, you would never guess would you

my week 5 - a bit of a series of photos Chazers guide to posing for dogs 1 - pick your pose and stick to it, make it your signature. I am a drop man myself, you may prefer sit, stand or roll over. 2 - Looking directly at the camera is not the most flattering angle for dogs. Look up, away, down, any direction just don't look at the camera. If you get caught off guard close your eyes. 3 - Show me the treats - if, and only if, they show you the food give a quick glance in the general direction of the camera, but make it quick. Take too long and the photographer may get the shot and no more treats for you. Note from human - Chazer wanted you all to show this to your dogs before the year gets any older and it is too late. We will get back to the Beatles theme soon :-) Welcome to the group Sarzc, was expecting to see a Weimaraner LOL

Beautiful photos. Sorry to hear about Zeus, you have some beautiful last photos of him having fun, lovely memories.

I love Clumbers too, very beautiful looking dogs. I looked at them when looking at different breeds before getting a Brittany but ruled them out quickly for one reason only, not suitable for agility. Apart from that I think they are beautiful.

That is terrible that it is now category 5, the exact opposite of what were all hoping for. Stay stafe everyone up that way. Terrible watching as I have some really nice relatives that live in Cairns, and also a really lovely lady who has my favorite pup from my last litter, so they are all going to get a real battering.

Guessed it This week was the album back cover, which will also be the back of his book at the end of the year the green photo with the intro is like this link Amazing what you can find on the internet. I have a model ready for the front cover once we work out when. Hard part is that it has to be early morning seeming as we will have to stop traffic LOL. The front will be the front of his book. And what I didn't know when I planned all this which made me laugh was that Paul McCartney from the Beatles did Abbey Road with a dog for a solo album, which I found out here - I didn't know there had been a dog version until it was pointed out to me, I thought I was the only one made enough to do Abbey Rd with a dog I thought it was 1970s to start with because I found all this when I did a search on 1970s album covers but found out later Abbey Rd was from 1969

Think music and 1969

Have you tried camera in one hand, and something else in the other, throw the object up and click when lands as his ears will probably go up. I see his foot is all better

Welsh Springer Spaniels/cocker Spaniels ?

I didn't think there was anything more destructive than a Lab. Labs are more destructive than the worst BC and don't grow out of the destructive phase for years. Their size and strength means they can do some incredible damage if they feel so inclined. Maybe I have only met the destructive ones but when I read the book "Marley and Me', I just thought it is a normal Lab with a clueless owner. I was hoping you woud see this and comment. I wouldn't class my Brittanys as destructive though, I consider myself very lucky when you hear some stories about what dogs get up to LOL -
LOL poor Willow. Chazer has senstive feet so I can appreciate that look. We were out walking a few weeks ago and he was getting burrs in his feet from the grass. We were down the street a bit more and had to go across a strip of grass to get to where we were going and he stood and refused to walk on the grass with burrs, what a sooky boy

Great photos everyone, looks like it will be a great year Kickass, not sure of your dog's name but I am sure she is wondering how on earth that muck got on her feet For week 4 I have the 2nd photo in a series of three photos, the first photo was last week. One person I know guessed what the series is last week, maybe someone from DOL will guess this week :-) Just think retro - 1969 - 3rd photo will depend on when my model is available early on a Sunday morning Once the third photo is up it will be pretty easy to guess Apologies to cat lovers (I like cats myself), but this is Chazer's street after all :-)

She is adorable!!! You must be so happy with her.

A house near me has a square cut out of the fence (fenceline at the footpath) with a pretty solid looking wire grill covering the gap. As I don't walk that way just drive I have never seen a dog at the cut out bit

One of the townships here hate the tourists. For so many years they took their horses and dogs to the beach for exercise etc, tourists came and complained, locals cannot use the beach any more for what they had been doing for so many years. Anyway, went to a dog beach in Melbourne last summer with a friend. We were commenting on how good all the dogs were. There was a Rottie cross which had been playing with our dogs and very friendly. 10 minutes later some people had come onto the beach with their dogs and started yelling at the top of their voice at the rottie cross, and telling the owners to get their vicious dog away, just made themselves look silly I think

Hi, glad it has worked so well. Did you get the Mars Coat King or the mars stripping knife? I have a coat king and a furminator. I prefer the furminator and never use the coat king any more, but it depends on what the dog's coat is like as to which is best I think. The brittany grooming site is american and is grooming for the show ring. It is a great guide but I never bath before I groom and don't use towels either. It is a great site to show parts of the hair to groom. I wouldn't tend to strip out any of the feathering. If it is too much then just cut it a little shorter with scissors. Funny thing after all the shampoos I have brought over the years, one of the best shampoos I have used is the shampoo they have at the car wash, they have one of those dog washs there and it is probably cheap as LOL. I also have some Paw High Shine Moisturising shampoo which is just beautiful on the dogs coats and not so expensive.

Happyt birthday Ashti, great photos everyone

I will miss it, what a shame, haven't seen the cart out for a while. I was supposed to enter but figured I didn't want to show in summer

Great photos everyone This is mine for week 3. This is the first part of a series of photos and will be used for the first page of his book at the end of the year. Anyone who guesses where I am headed with this wins :-)

If he's a larger Lab he'd be jumping 60cm EVERY jump in Agility. That would mean he'd be jumping higher than his shoulder. A dog can be trained to some degree to turn tightly Mason but its the impact of his entire body weight landing on one leg, each and every jump and just the general wear and tear on his front end I'd be concerned about. A working line Lab would fare better but that rules out showing. ETA: Christine Zink (US Sports vet) has an equation she uses to give an indicator of a dog's agility potential in terms of construction. Divide a dog's weight (in lbs) by its height (in inches). Ideal agility dogs tend to come out at 1.0 or below. She'd recommend not competing with a dog thats result is much above 2.0. My last agility poodle had result of 0.8 The upshot of that is that dogs heavily built for their size are not ideal agilty prospects.. bit of no brainer I suppose. A 60lb, 22 inch Lab (big dog) would have a result of 2.75. If you wanted to do it with a Lab you'd sure want them lean. Good to know Brittanys fit well within this (well all mine do anyway) - a cou0ple of series photos of Bella and Chazer at a trial
