this is my photo for the week. Theme was princess for a day. I took this as a joke but funnily enough it fitted the theme

great photos everyone. Dogsportobsessed - I was going to get those glasses for my retro theme from Spotlight very spunky Week 16 - a bit boring this week, but today was a dog show, and tomorrow is a dog show, so not much time for anything but dog show photos - I haven't got a stacked photo of him for a few years now though so guess I need one :-) .

Mounting Photos On Board Or Card For Competitions
helen replied to rubiton's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
I have done this with matt board from art supply stores, cut the mount with a mount cutter, only tape the top of the photo so it does not buckle, then tape on a backing board -
Great photos everyone. the theme this week was furry friends So Chazer was my model .

TLC, notice you have been missing from the thread, cute easter photo

Poor Maggie, hope she is healing nicely and the lump didn't turn out to be anything nasty. Great photos from everyone, and glad to see the Shepards are back Tali looks so beragged in the first photo and so cute with the head tilt in her 2nd photo, she must have felt better after a bath LOL This is Chazer's photo for this week. He is doing a very slight version of the Brittany lip curl, the lip gets caught when somthing gets their attention and it looks so funny no retro again though, have lost my retro mojo .

hehehe, frodo has the bucket again Here is my effort for the week, I am not doing my theme photo for this week, it's 'what people think of you'. I had a great idea but it is raining so no chance to do it on time, could have had some fun with it .

love it wagsalot, it is getting cold

not much of an effort from me this week either, the retro theme has well and truely been blown out the window, but love this because he loves the wind in his face and he is smiling .

Champion Class- Should We Have A Seperate Class?
helen replied to Stolzseinrotts's topic in General Dog Discussion
I agree with this completely. I started showing a while after I got my dog Bella who is now 11 and can still remember very well how daunting it was to look in the catalogue and realise that I was competing against champions. I probably would have stopped except for the encouragement of some other people in the breed who also showed her for me a bit until she got her title (she went on to RUBISS champion and BISS open show so is a great dog). Maybe it could be the trick to finally increase the numbers at shows. Maybe if you conbined this with the suggestion below, and took it one step further, only champions are eligible to compete for best in group at all breeds shows Change is not a bad thing necessarily. Some people are saying if it aint broken don't fix it, but all we seem to hear about is declining numbers so surely if this is true the whole system needs to be looked at. The only other thing I could even think of is to introduce an encouragement title of some sort that you can achieve before champion and that could be based on class in breed wins or similar for younger dogs And for those who think anyone who wants a champion class is only because you can't beat other dogs - not necessarily so. My next girl was pulled from the ring before she was 12 months old as she was winning and had plenty enough points for her title, and all my dogs have gone on to BISS and/or RUBISS And I also know of breeders who don't like to show once their dogs are titled so as they don't discourage others in the breed -
I am not a big fan of still life unless done really well. I really admire some beautiful landscape photography but would never hang them on my wall

I got my oldest girl some pjs last year but she manages to get one or 2 legs out during the night and it isn't pretty so I got a coat made from double fleece from the MDBA auctions from here http://www.facebook.com/pages/Warley-Wear/113709948667708 and that turned out better for her

Helen, I'm surprised, I thought you'd follow that other blue and white team, Geelong! poocow - sadly, my OH follows that red and white team too! :p I love it when Geelong do well as everyone is happy, so they are probably pretty equal, but I have been Hawthorn for ever - they were my school sports colors
