  1. A harness might be good and might not, I have a dog who pulls but never on a harness Do you have a 2nd dog, having the 2nd dog out in front a bit might encourage her to speed up a bit. Do you know anyone with a dog cart? I wonder if pulling a cart would have the same exercise affect?
  2. Oh wow, a dream trip, how lucky. I am near Melbourne so you will have to post when you hit Victoria .
  3. I was going to cheat this week but the only spare photo I had has autumn leaves in it, so out I went for a walk and took a photo while the clothes were washing LOL .
  4. the leaves are creamy (probably shows more on the full size image) but very close so not completely out of focus. The 2 creamy photos were taken with the same lens
  5. and what about the times you need everything in focus? Could this technology be in the software and not in the camera? ETA - went to a camera store and the conversation went like this sales person has a few different cameras out to show customers Customer: does this camera take good photos sales person - Oh yes, this camera or camera B take really good photos If people don't believe that it is the camera that takes good photos and not the person how can they keep selling these cameras that take such good photos?
  6. It is considered that better lenses have creamy bokeh, depends on the look you want I guess Creamy this one would fail completely if the bokeh wasn't creamy not creamy, but an old favorite
  7. I love black and white and have heaps - sorry to hijack the thread but here are some favs of mine .
  8. Annie, know about the rain, but Cowboy looks happier about it than Chazer LOL Week 27, another quotes - "Our dog chases people on a bike. We've had to take it off him" ..... Winston Churchill .
  9. Very cute. Is that local or at your brothers?
  10. Creamy is good, what lens are you using for the creamy photos?
  11. Ralley Valley - she is very cute :-) Loving the Brittany takeover of the 52 week thread LOL Gila, love the heart, a very sentimental photo wagsalot - looks like Riley is contemplating life LOL MTD- She is loving that chew toy Way to go Marlo on the pass. Is that a title?

  13. Welcome to the group Justice, great photos everyone. Week 24 - I got myself an android phone this week. First thing I did was download the retro camera app, so of course I had to use it for Chazer's photo of the week .
  14. The hardest I think for me was at a skateboard park, half way up a slope, befure I went to shoot I had worked out how to save the camera when I fell LOL. Luckily I didn't fall - with skate parks being concrete and all

  16. very funny Gila Ralleyvalley, love week 22 Marlo looks like he is doing a great job there with his tracking Here is Chazer for week 23. Chazer hasn't been to many shows lately so he is keeping up to date with the latest news the the Dog Show Scene magazine. He loved the latest edition because it has plenty of gundogs in it. .
  17. Thanks heaps, didn't know what I was getting myself in for when I decided to enter LOL
  18. ps - I am just so excited that Geelong have decided to hold a trial Just found the info for the trial which states: Trial held on dummies, water may be used. Competitors bring own dummies for approval to check in. Dummies to be in a clear plastic bag with handlers name. Dummies must be of a subdued colour & comply with rule 8.6 of the RATG rules. Novice competitors require 2 dummies Water is good just have to sort out this dummy thing as soon as I can - when it says 2 dummies do they have to be different?
  19. Hi spotted devil. I will be the one wondering around with the old Brittany who has no idea what they are doing LOL I am pretty good on the obedience side of things, but the retrieving no so much I need to get a dummy and quick. Bella is not a fan and I don't know what the requirements are for a dummy so I need the softest possible one and the smallest possible one, any idea where it get one quickly? Also what dummy is the best color for green grass? And one more question for now until I think of more, when the dog comes back from retrieving the article, do you need to wait for the judge to tell you to take the dummy or do you just take it from the dog without waiting? Some of the obedience and agility trials at Geelong they have the dogs enter the ring in breed order alphabetically, so if they do this for the retrieving trial I will most likely be first in so can't watch in advance to see what will be happening Oh, well, will all be experience to train up my next one, maybe Chazer
  20. Hi. There is a local retrieving ability test soon so I am thinking of entering - it is in Victoria. Had a practice run at a fun day but I would love to see a test on youtube so I know what a trial run should look like because I haven't seen a trial. Jumping in the deep end LOL.
  21. I don't show very often now but when I did got to KCC park recently had a very positive example of someone taking their dog to the show. The lady had a Samoyed cross she took with her because they do k-9 freestyle and were getting in some practice down there. She took her dog to the show with her for a look as she had lost her old dog recently and she wanted to see the different gundog breeds. She sat under our gazebo for quite a while talking, the dog was very friendly, mixed well with other dogs and it gave her the opportunity to sit back and see the different breeds in action, and guess what, she is getting a certain gundog for her next dog. Imagine if everyone had shunned her away, she probably would have headed to the nearest pet shop for her next dog ETA - I got to learn a bit from her as well about freestyle so even better
  22. The last thing I really wanted to do this week was another photo (after doing show photos), but I am determined not to miss any weeks this year, so hear we have it, another photo in a laneway, seems it is becoming a trend..
