Retrieving & Field Training Talk

With a Brittany, they should be cobby, when you look down at them you should see plenty of round ribs, and width, no thinness. If they don't have a waist that just means they are overwieght, like Tilly gets if I am not careful, now that she is older, and such a guts LOL. You can get coby, and plenty of width and spring of rib without the dog being overweight. The breed standard says this: Back: Straight, short and rigid, well coupled. Loin: Short, broad and muscular. Hips: Very slightly slanting, broad and muscular. Chest: Let down to elbow level, broad with ribs well sprung but not barrel chested. Sternum wide and scarcely rising towards the rear. The rearmost ribs long and supple. .....Built harmoniously on a solid but not weighty frame. The whole is compact and well knit, without undue heaviness, while staying sufficiently elegant. The dog is vigorous, the look is bright and the expression intelligent. The general aspect is cobby, ........ -

Look at her go, she is doing a great job Looks like she is really going to enjoy her retrieving. How funny she did a victory lap first. It is funny the things they do in training. Took Bella to a training day once and we were doing water retrieves. He got Bella to do a water retrieve and took the dummy from her really quickly, before she was properly out of the water. Bella thought she had dropped it in the water, went back in searching for it and wouldn't come out, he had to throw it again for her, funny girl. -
LOL. I brought a 2nd hand point and shoot, and a bigger handbag so I could carry it everywhere so I can do my project 365/366 - only drawback is that if I go into BIGW etc because I have such a big, red handbag they always want to look inside it, maybe they like it so much they want one just like it

Great photos everyone, it must have been a busy week for us all, I am playing catch up too Day 34: How luck that after a very busy day and a hair cut, just by chance I headed to the waterfront before going home for my photo of the day. I parked next to another car, a guy in the car proceeded to step out and feed seagulls. I didn't even have to step out of the car for my photo :-) February 3, 2012 Day 33: The sun shining through the bus stop caught my eye on my way home from work. February 2, 2012. Day 32: This house is close to work, I think it is adorable. February 1, 2012 Day 31: Good luck to all those kiddies starting school this year 31 January, 2012 Day 30: I walk past this garage nearly every day, I love the crackling old paint. The door doesn't quite shut and makes me wonder what is inside 30 January, 2012

Happy birthday Misteri, great photos everyone. Did Willow enjoy his trip to the beach? These are my photos from the weekend. A few photos of Chazer to finish my book, and one of Tilly This is Chazer doing an impersonation of his mum Bella And another one to help fill up his book And day 29, Tilly at home
-
Great photos everyone. I have been looking through, but haven't commented, as I am trying to make a book of Chazer's photos from last year at the same time as doing this and the 365. It was hot and humid today so I decided to take a photo in the back yard, this is what Tilly thought of that idea

great photos everyone, am enjoying looking at them all

That Australia day breakfast looks decadent LOL. Love the crayons, and the lady with the cat. These are my day 27 photos, I took a few photos as I am making a book of Chazer's photos so have some spare pages to fill I took the first photo to show how much he loves pats from random strangers, it really is his favourite thing in life, and the 2nd is him with a friend he adores
-
I am enjoying these New Zealand photos
-
Hope you are feeling better soon This is my day 26 photo, a long, leisurely lunch with friends for Australia Day, at Barwon Edge, in Geelong

We have an Eastern Beach here in Geelong too :) Day 25 - I spotted this on the way home, there were about 3 houses in a row with flags flying from their letter box, getting ready for Australia Day

This is the apple tree in my back yard. I love the shade from the tree in summer, but don't like the apples :) The dogs and rainbow lorikeets eat the apples

Both the Tillys are all groomed nicely now :) Did you groom her, she looks fabulous
-
I am glad others are finding it hard too. Some great photos, the lighting is fanstasic on the horse walking away :) Day 23 - Chazer had his first Canine Freestyle (dancing with dogs) lesson. He is here with the two 'blonde chicks' from the class Gorja and Kyla. It was a quick snap today, the photo was taken at 8.00 and 52 seconds, the class was starting at 8 pm :-) It wouldn't be like me to be early anyway. 23 January 2012

Great photos everyone. Snook, that is so funny. Dogsportobsessed, loving the black and white Here is my photo for week, I took it with the theme chaos in mind. Tilly never used to steel food, but she had cancer and a few things went wrong health wise afterwards, she ended up on cortisone for a long period of time and as a result she can't be trusted with any food around now, even though she has been off the cortisone for a long long time.

Anyone else finding this getting harder? Day 21 - Saw this in passing so decided I would use it for my photo, don't know if they have the flag all the time or if they are getting ready for Australia Day Day 22 - Chazer enjoying the sunset
-
Newfsies - how cute are those little chicks, love the photo. Glad you have Katy to save you when you go for a swim :) MavericksMission - that bird is beautiful, do you know what it is? Love the head phone shots, great idea Beth - love the light in the first horse photo, that is a gorgeous fish Misteri - great idea, love the sleeping one ROFL. I think Teddy is escaping. With your bush photo what do you think of a square crop, cropping off the top? Loving the roast Impatients - very pretty flowers. Are you going to show us some photos of NZ this year pretty please :D Funny, I was lying down thinking the same thing about my lights Dust Angel - day 19 - I am guessing it is rocks, but maybe not with the question :) I hate needles, but I am sure it will be worth it when you get there lovemysideways, great doggie photos, that last shot is fantastic, love the colours
