Ok this is going to be a little basic but here goes! Fish Oil contains DHA/EPA while Evening Primrose contains GLA. These three are all essential fatty acids OMEGA 3, - 6 & 9! Thus an Omega Oil rather than Omega 3 Fish Oil if best to give to both humans and dogs that have issues with their skin/hair etc, etc. Borage Oil, Flaxseed Oil etc contain even more GLA than EPO. There are Dog Specific Omega Oils that you can obtain through vets - MegaDerm or Omega Blend by Vets All Natural! But Health food shops also sell human grade omega blends like MegaOil that contains the ratio that you are looking for in an omega blend oil! Megaderm Ingredients Sunflower oil, gamma-linolenic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid, docosahexaenoic acid, retinyl palmitate, dl-alpha-tocopheryl acetate, biotin, pyridoxine hydrochloride, zinc sulfate monohydrate, inositol. Vets All Natural Omega Blend Ingredients cold pressed Flax Seed Oil, Shark Liver Oil, Sunflower Oil, and Wheat Germ Oil Mega Oil Ingredients Oil Ratio 2:1:1 of Omega 3, 6 and 9. Flaxseed Oil, Soybean Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Borage Oil (15ml GLA) Safflower Seed Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Sesame Seed Oil, Pumpkinseed Oil. Hope this helps!!! Yes - dilute a 10c piece sized droplet in about 50-70 mls of water for the Pyohex! NO - Curash is a zinc powder with no additives, where as Johnsons is Talc & Fragrances. I have used Curash before, along with betadine to clean - but this forms a crust and doesn't breath like using the pyohex, as well it does not seem to sting Benson like the Betadine did - that's why I prefer the pyohex method I learn't not long ago!

Cut the hairs that are close to the wound, so that they can't irritate it, and wash with Pyohex shampoo, dry with paper towel and repeat this every second day for a period of 7 days and that's it! You could use Pyohex lotion if you want instead - much of a muchness. Friend who is a vet, has a colleague that owns two Goldie's that are really prone to hot spots and this is the best form of treatment she has used!

Well they'll still work but it will take you much longer to trim. I never use double sided, only single. If you only used them once and still have the packaging they came in and the receipt try taking them back and asking if they'll exchange them, don't say that you've used them just say you bought the wrong ones by mistake. Will try - I mean I bearly used them.

I think you misunderstood my stupidilty Miranda. I did not buy the thinning scissors for mat cutting. I just wasn't sure how the scissors should work as I never used them before. The mat was on his belly and was from licking due to allergies, and the reason I bought the thinning scissors was for his neck, ear etc so I can tidy him up every mth or so - he is looking rather muttly at the moment.

Shear Magic Thinning Scissors
First Time Puppy Owner posted a topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Ok I bought a pair of Double Sided Thinning Scissors by Shear Magic. Now I know this probably sounds like a silly question but how do I use them? Does the dog need to be wet or do you just have to open and close them heaps??? See they arrrived in the post yesterday and thus were in my hand bag when we went to the dog park and that's when I noticed a small mat on my boy's belly, so while he was lying on his back distracted I got them out and tried to cut it off, but they didn't work like normal scissors, I had to open and close them several times until it cut it off. Is this normal with double sided thinning scissors, or am I doing somthing wrong? PS - thanks in adavnce -

Just for the T4 I paid $45 and that's cause they could do that on site but for the TSH they need to send it away for testing. -
Pool For Dogs In Brisbane

:p re Grandma's pool! :p Great to hear! Thank you for the recommendation - that's the problem with my boy I think, I mean as long as feet are touching the bottom of the sea then he is happy to be in pretty deep but will not go any further. I mean I could understand if he had, had a bad experience but nope I just would love to build up his confidence re swimming again!!! -
Licking Each Other In The Mouth.
First Time Puppy Owner replied to Melbomb's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Such an interesting toopic as I have seen my boy do the licking at the park as well as get licked. I would say he is submissve most of the time but I guess a puppy or little dog may not get that he is not dominant and do it to him to make sure that he is all good with their presence?!?! -

River would be a great option - but he just will not go in far enough and swim. He has swum 3 times in his life but since has gone all chicken Really want to get him to learn to enjoy swimming, as I know he loves the water! Funny! I took Quentin to the Dog Pool from when he came to me. He never liked it - always wanted to go out of the water. My old girl loves the water and when we went to the pools I had to drag her out while Quen needed to be dragged in. Then I took them to the river - manily for my old girl and Quen went in and swam and didn't want to come out again. http://quentinsdream.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html That's what I hope Benson does too, after he figures out he can swim! -

Hi All Just wondering is there a pool in Brisbane where you can take your dog for swimming lessons and if so where abouts and do they have a hydrobath set up? Thank you in advance for your help! ;) Suz

Man that is looking really good GG! Try Mega Oil from the health food shop (a little expensive around $33 for a 500ml bottle) and 50 mls a day - worked great to restore Benson's coat when he was really scruffy after heaps of hot spots. No loose stolls from it either! Good luck hon! I know you will get there!

Looks like a hot spot to me - they believe that they form once bacteria pentrates the skin and become very itchy thus dog chews/licks at the spot until it becomes a wound like Chevy has (usually form with in hours - generally when you aren't watching them ie overnight). Duck to the vet, but if they agree, pyohex shampoo diluted or pyohex lotion will treat the itching and dries out the wound without stinging, and once healed over hair will start to grow back.
