I still remember the screaming crate when I went to pick Trixie up Some things never change She had flown from Brisbane, she was fine, she just likes to scream like the world is ending when she's in a crate

Hey there's an idea, then they can borrow a gazebo if they need one and we can have the other? Is that cool?
-
Starts at 9am but it's not running like a normal trial, they are having two rings, one will have agility starting at Masters and going to Novice, and one will have Jumping starting at Novice and ending at Masters, weird but I'm happy because it means my runs won't clash, woohoo! I do not object but I did extend the offer to Papillon girl to sit in my gazebo if it's hot because they don't have one and it's her first trial but not sure they'd fit anyway to be honest because there are two of them and their dog? And I'll be putting it partly over my car as usual to keep some sun off. I think I need a bigger gazebo

For some reason reading your post got the 'my little pony' theme song into my head Ooh Valley hopefully you time it for when I'm on, I need a camera lady
-
No but I'll be at agility there ETA: the Sunday I mean!
-
Very exciting!
-
I don't think you'd need the smallest, there were some very tiny ones there!
-
Personally I'd get it over and done with straight away and get the earlier flight, puppies grow so quickly I wouldn't want to miss any time, and the sooner he gets to your house the sooner he can get settled in and start toilet training etc, otherwise he will get settled at your SIL's house then have to be uprooted?

YOU can be just like me at agility presentations when they all say go the obedience dog - we can then say....go the agility dog She'll be an obedience dog before she's an agility dog at the rate she's going There are more obedience things that can be trained in the lounge room Well I started doing the kick back stand which she was cottoning on to. Still a bit confused as to why it's beneficial though - aren't they essentially walking into a stand during heelwork? Or am I missing something? COP perhaps? Need to watch some more trials. The thing that is annoying me is she sits back onto her back legs and her front feet move backwards a bit - is this a problem? Of course the non obedience dog does a lovely little sit where his front feet stay perfectly still and his little bum just tucks in underneath him neatly. Also did some perch work / pivot work / elephant trick stuff. Had tried it a few months ago with a book and had given up because she just would not keep both feet on it. Tried it last night with a little square paver and she was keeping both feet on after an initial lure onto it got her going both ways, needs a fair bit of refinement though.

LOL yes that would please you ;) Luring someone over to the dark side

Just looked at some videos, seems pretty easy to teach, one of the videos was by Caffy doing it with Snazzy Going to give it a try now.
-
Great, I've broken her already I don't think she's coordinated enough to do a kick back stand ;)
-
Yep Jasper met him at training one night! I think he's going to do really well, clever little thing. Yep the other one has his AD and JD titles now according to the latest catalogue. At least someone is obtaining AD titles hey ozjen

I wonder if they took into account different coats types? My girl has a very short single coat, when she shakes the water only comes off her tail and ears She dries in about 10 minutes though
-
We do this at our wind up, as well as: A course with just tunnels 36 or 48 weaves in a row timed A relay, two teams at a time, have to go over two jumps then wrap a third and back again
-
Oh yeah of course I was thinking of leaving the stand for a bit because since I taught her to do it she is hardly auto-sitting any more - should I re-fix that before I carry on with the stand do you think?
-
There's my little man, what a clever cookie he is, but he's getting so big Are you at the sgility trial this weekend? Not this one, Mirrawee is busy, good luck if you are in. Your little man has to keep growing he's still smaller than my Gizmo, but is all legs at the moment. :D All legs and ears! heheheh Hey that Pap in my ACWA class has his first agility trial this weekend
-
Okay I'll try and get her standing more square for stability purposes, cheers ETA: Might take you up on that one Ptolomy, are you going to be there on Sunday? ETA2: Have to admit I'm really starting to enjoy this obedience thing!
-
Can someone tell me, with the stand in obedience does it have to be all square, as in, front feet in line, back feet in line? Trixie seems to keep one of her front feet just in front of the other and I'm going to work on fixing it but just wondering if it is points off or not? Cheers

They sell 4Legs at Coles, Woolies and some IGA stores too CC.
-
Are they the Dr Billinghurst bark patties? Yes the 4legs can be made smaller, I use these for my dogs for training and break them into pieces as I'm using them, some flavours are a bit mushier than others (I think the chicken one is the mushiest from memory). My favourite ones to use are the puppy ones because they are very small and firm but probably not recommended if Louis can put weight on easily.

Both She's still only jumping 400 in class though (as its the best height to cater for whole class) and managing to keep bars up. It's when we start working on 500 and keeping bars up is when we might run into trouble! Will run a 500 course on Thursday night :D Argh I don't believe in that 'jump the best height for the whole class' thing! They were trying to get the pap in our class to jump at 300 because some of the jumps were missing 200 cups, I said no don't do it because it's way too hard for him and he has tripped over a bar at 300 before and it fell on him, not nice when you're about 2kg! :D Though I do jump Kyzer at 400 sometimes for convenience purposes but he can do it okay and he's almost a 400 dog. Anyway that's my rant for the morning :D Sounds good CC. Still trying to decide to do more obedience with Trixie or not, amazing how fast things can progress when you actually make more of an effort!

The one that 'can't jump' ETA: Or was it 'jumps like a sack of potatoes' ?

Typical, that's the trial I will likely wag because of a birthday party Glad Varda is on the mend, no more eating 'rock cakes' okay Varda! :D
