  1. Wow, that's really weird! Neither of my dogs require visits to groomers so I have never heard of this phenomenon!
  2. I don't care much for aloveen either - I bought a small bottle once and didn't finish it It gave my old dog dandruff. I prefer using Moogoo, or I have a Fido's black one for Trixie and a Blue one for Kyzer. I use a coat oil rinse afterwards, I find it works better than a cream conditioner. Both of my dogs have short single coats.
  3. I don't get too worried about mine, they both have short coats, and long noses so don't overheat too easily, and have both coped in extreme heat before, they ahve plenty of water at home and usually sleep all day anyway. When we get lawn I want to get them a clam shell with water in it though.
  4. Your a bit of a stirrer aren't you (And the answer to that for anyone following along at home is no- I will not be meeting any kind of in-laws) Yes I am, I have a reputation amongst my workmates
  5. ATM I have no trees or lawn, just heaps of sand and an undercover area, but the dogs have a dog door to get inside. I don't leave the air con on, the house stays quite cool without it.
  6. There was a chair under one end of the see saw last night for someone who was teaching their dog to do it.
  7. Love GPs! I was going to post that I really like Winpara's red one Mia but she beat me to it and even posted photos, bonus
  8. You've already trekked to all sorts of international places I have not ventured past South East Asia
  9. Hahaha that must be new? We are going on Air Asia to London then trekking to Europe for 5 weeks next May / June Flights were $875 return after taxes, bargain! Seems safer than Qantas at the moment
  10. Got training tonight - bet it will still be freezing at K9 as usual

    Cuz

If you buy the 'other cuz' the feet aren't as easy to chew off:
  12. Same here smoothiegirl, I have two trials left and one pass needed for AD and one pass needed for JDX and I'm not posting in the other thread until those trials have been, don't want to jinx myself either.
  13. We'll just watch the rally demo I think
  14. I'll be hungover on new years day But I have from Christmas to 4th jan off so I am easy for most other days :D
  15. Tollersowned that sounds just like me and Kyzer! We have the same sort of problem, if I am a bit nervous because we are at a different grounds or a different class etc it is a big fail, he just shuts down, Jumping is not as hard for him as Agility, I suspect it's because jumping is more flowing with no stopping. This is why we have got 2/3 AD passes since March And because I want that last AD pass so bad it makes me even more nervous! Amazing how they pick up on it! I decided to stick it out and keep trialling because I figured he performs really well at training so there weren't boundaries to push stress wise there. I still have crap trials and have a bit of a nervous breakdown But I am learning a huge deal and trying different tactics. I have entered open a few times but usually scratch because it makes me nervous (more spectators for open) which makes him nervous, so I usually don't bother. I only really enter 'home' trials to keep my nerves down. On Saturday I changed my tactic, I usually get Kyzer out 1 or 2 dogs before his run and go straight into the ring (my theory was he'd get less stressed out by the environment if he was in it less) I did this for our JDX round and he was quite terrible, wasn't paying attention, sniffing, shut down. For agility I got him out about 5-6 dogs before and walked all the way around the perimeter of the other rings to our ring, letting him have a sniff at some trees, playing some "ready, go" games, then we sat ringside and just did some little tricks etc until it was his turn, then we casually walked into the ring and by golly he had his best (as in happiest) agility run yet! Unfortunately he ran around one jump that was right near a steward's table but I didn't care, I felt like we'd just got our Masters title :D He weaved like a machine, collected nicely to get the entrance, did all contacts, I couldn't have been more pleased. Our last agility pass was at a trial in May I think, so there have been a lot of bombs in between! Going to try my new tactic next trial and see if it was a once off! I don't care so much for a clean run at this stage, just want him to be 'up' So I say keep going until you make a breakthrough, things have been pretty shocking for us, doesn't help that I am the world's biggest crier ;) but they seem to be turning around a bit more now. I was on the verge of giving up the whole caper but decided I am not wasting 3 years of training, I know he can do it! I can definitely say that trialling has been the biggest challenge in our agility career! But I figure anything I learn will benefit Trixie and future dogs, plus I actually really enjoy going to trials and having a good gas bag with friends :D Oops sorry about the essay ;)
  16. Kyzer gets a holiday over Summer, Trixie's mission is to learn how to weave!
  17. Yay Millie I was going to cay you need to update your signature but you were too quick :D
  18. I don't think I'll bother - by the sounds of it I will fail anyway :D And both my breeds aren't listed :D
  19. The postage cost is usually written on the box when I order, and sometimes it is ;) I think the reason they do it is to promote their services, if people order something free shipping and it is packaged well and arrives fast then they are probably more likely to do a paid order down the track?
  20. Yep one of mine is motivated by "food", and the other is motivated by "FOOOODDDD!!!!!"" ;) And toys, but only if I'm holding them or throwing them, otherwise they are invisible. Don't think I'd cope with a dog that wasn't fussed about food!
  21. There's a lady in WA who has 5 Whippets, I think 3 or 4 of them trial, she doesn't come to trials very often though because she lives out of Perth. ;)
  22. Maybe you should leave it outside or something :D
