Yep smooth coated terriers drop little spiky hairs everywhere It isn't as bad if they are inside dogs I find (outside ones seem to grow a thicker coat) A rub down with a rubber brush or glove outside every couple of days gets most of it off the dog if you are bothered, it doesn't really bother me, they vacuum up easily. They've got nothing on Labrador hair! The rough coated ones don't shed as much but most of them need to be stripped or clipped, and brushed.

I wouldn't consider dense double coats to be minimal grooming? But then again I have dogs who only require nail clipping and an easy quick bath occasionally. My suggestions: Smooth Fox Terrier Tenterfield Terrier Another JRT (I like the broken coat ones best :p ) Manchester Terrier (though probably more likely to have health problems because of the lower numbers, also might be a bit more of a challenge, also get cold easily) All healthy (generally) hardy little dogs that are smart. I would suggest looking for temperament first (I'd suggest that for all dogs, but terriers slightly moreso ;) )

Sounds like a good Saturday night to me! I've been filing all day, now to go home and I might watch a movie too :D

Yep not many other people seemed to know that one
-
Yep that's correct poo-fong, it's because with the update it 'reset' all the threads, so the forum thinks you haven't read any posts in each thread and takes you to the start, then the second time it takes you to the correct place
-
It was a small orange box on the old forum

Don't know if you have tried it, you probably have, but what if you sit on the floor eating something (sausage or something) and you take a bite of it then offer it to him to eat? I once had a terribly fussy dog but if she was offered something that she had seen us eating she would eat it no problems.

Ohhhh that's the feedback system for the marketplace. I thought you meant the reputaion which can be viewed by going to a profile
-
I looked and it says you have no feedback?? Unless someone just deleted it

Really?! Wow how much time did you spend looking through pages to find where you had read up to? My problem is my memory is so bad I can never remember where I was up to, last unread post button is my hero :D
-
Wait, bedazzled are you talking about a link in the actual thread I never knew that existed either if you are Or are you talking about the last unread post button, which used to be an orange square and is now a grey square with an arrow?
-
No the first unread button is still there, it should be working now on this thread? ETA Don't worry I'm not good with change either
-
Don't worry Bedazzled - it's just because the forum got reset, now when you click on the 'last read post' button it will work like it used to :D It's just the first click for each thread won't work, does that make sense?

Just over 2 years - so not that much for small dogs that often live to ~15 years!

I agree with the sentiment of getting a second dog for you and not your dog, I got Trixie because I wanted a dog for me, and I couldn't ask for more companion wise, she means so much to me, it's just different, Kyzer is more my OH's dog than mine, he bonded better with him right from the start. He really had his nose out of joint to start with but he now loves her (most of the time) and when he is home alone and Trixie and I come back I think he is happier to see her than me Just to put another perspective on it, I have found that getting Trixie actually improved Kyzer's training, because he really benefits from short bursts, rather than long lessons, with two dogs you can work with one, then swap, and if one is being uncooperative you can put them away and get the other out I found he is keener to work after watching Trixie work (and get treats ) As for waiting until you 'know what you are doing' well that takes years, and you have to learn somehow? Also, each dog presents different challenges, Ptolomy and Bedazzled, I know you have both trained multiple dogs to amazingly high standards, would you say you are still learning with each new dog that comes along?

Thinking of you and Zeus, Emery.
