  1. Both of mine had them removed when they were tiny puppies, I do agility with them both and have never noticed a problem with wrists or lack of grip because of it, but they don't naturally turn flatly and sharply like a BC does because of their build.
  2. Welcome Nik, and the gorgeous Annie :D It's a personal choice but I don't repeat anything, with the exception of weavers, I might say 'weave weave' or 'go go' half way along because it feels like it takes forever with my dogs I always said I wouldn't repeat weave commands but I can't help it Also - on the subject of giving things a command, with Trixie I went with the approach of working on each individual obstacle until she understood it and it was at a point where I was happy with it, and then adding a command - I wish I did this with Kyzer. I think it makes a big difference. SG touches on this in the 2x2 DVD and her shaping success book - she doesn't say 'weave' until her dogs are actually weaving 12 poles properly. I use wait instead of Stay but I don't really do obedience so probably not relevant.
  3. Woohoo congrats TO - what a clever girl! Those Tollers are too smart for their own good
  4. Yes, I was going to try and use the Natures Gift treats in it if I get it. ETA: The little rounds ones that are like kibble
  5. Sounds like she loves it though - Can't complain about the two quallies Do you guys have breakaway tyres now? We have breakaway tyres here now and on the weekend a BC took off way too early and smashed through the bottom of the tyre... would not have been pretty if it was still a solid one Yeah Trixie has been a good girl, I am going to stop babysitting her in Excellent though (hopefully! lol it's hard not to play it safe!)
  6. Ahhh the last bar - how heartbreaking - I've never experienced a dropped bar - my older dog has never knocked one (done just about everything else wrong though ) - Trixie drops them occasioanlly in training, hopefully not in a trial But yes there are plenty more trials, a whole year ahead! Have you entered her in agility? I have that problems with day time trials at the beginning, they confuse my dogs, since we only train at night!
  7. Ohhh JDO with the big dogs! Silly dog!! Hope she's better by next week. How have you and her been going with trialling? You've probably posted about it but sorry I have the worst memory!
  8. My experience has taught me that anything can (and often does) go wrong So I'm just going to say she won't be in Excellent until next year
  9. Oh Boxagirl Poor Bondi Fingers crossed there is some improvement
  10. I'm not 100% on the weave rules either but usually if we stuff up we do it properly and it is beyond saving RE the weesaw, I know it sounds silly but I am a bit sad that Trixie won't get to trial on a proper seesaw, she loves the seesaw and does it perfectly, a little one just isn't the same... could always join ADAA I suppose but I'd rather not at this point in time, I'm not that hardcore
  11. I'm a weave flapper too Yeah she isn't collecting herself before entering them is she, SG does mention that in the DVD but I can't remember what she says - Trixie does it on occasion, I don't run flat out at the weavers, I decel to give her a cue to slow down - sometimes it works Hooray for video! I saw the weesaw for the first time on Saturday....
  12. Thanks for the help guys - yeah I can think of a lot of ways to use the MM to reward in crate, behind baby gate, all sorts of things, not just agility. I would like both dispensers really (want, not need ). Sheena I don't think you would need a second person either? Can't you reload then reset your dog, as you would if you were using a bait plate or similar?
  13. Well done TSD - sounds like a good weekend! Congrats on your good runs! And Tassie congrats Kirra's two passes!! Only Q in Masters agility! Well done!!! And second in Jumping is nothing to scoff at either! ETA my JD and AD videos are here for anyone interested, JD was pretty boring though lol http://www.youtube.com/user/amypie85
  14. Wooohoooo well done Xena98!!! So awesome! We still have an obedience trial in December, you should come over for it Awwww thanks ptolomy! She's my special girl and is just such a pleasure to train and trial because she just wants to be by my side working with me - she springs out of her crate with enthusiasm every time - I love it. :D my 2 dogs are just so chalk and cheese in every way! Hope I don't get the 'last pass jitters' next trial
  15. Well done on your JD title TN!!! Hope there's video, love seeing fluffy bum Jedi running :D And RS Ruby was a star, congrats again on your JDX! and both were good gamblers dogs! Woohoo Trixie had her second trial and blew me away again! Three passes for three entries, only 400 dog in all classes so default first, was the only qualifier on novice agility, and we also had a go at Novice Gamblers and got a pass in that!! Having so much fun with her ATM! Just waiting for her to give me a reality check Kyzer was a good boy too but I pulled him off a jump in JDM - whoopsy. It was an unusual trial, they had different courses for 200, 300 & 400 dogs, and 500 & 600 dogs. JDM was noticeably tighter than normal but didn't notice a difference in spacing for the other classes.
  16. Yep been there, got the T shirt, and fridge magnet, and bumper sticker I don't think I'm still there On my way back at least?! Well MG only you can decide if it's worth it or not to be honest. Well done RS, here's to another night of success tomorrow for a champion weekend ;) Bedazzled is probably still up in the clouds :D
  17. Wooo go Milliemoo! Well done May seem minor in comparison to a UDX title but it is certainly not Minor!!!
  18. WOW!!! Congrats Bedazzled and Brookie!!!!! That's massive!!
  19. Yeah I might do the CR order, maybe a bit closer to Christmas - can be my present ;)
  20. Married!! Exciting! Sounds like it would've been bad timing - whem it is meant to be it will be 12 months already!
  21. Yep Leila was high on life that's for sure!! That's why it was so hard to believe she could get so sick so suddenly She was lovely though. Have you got another puppy yet CareyJ or are you waiting? (Sorry if I missed it)
  22. That might be an idea Bedazzled, bend my rubber arm The problem then is stopping at just the Manners Minder!
  23. Um - WHO CARES if she would lose her job - she should get a conviction!!! What a horrible thing to do!! Poor dog
  24. There are a stack of people with them here but they all did a bulk order from the US for them I believe. Yep it is codswallop they definitely work How much was your shipping Corvus?
