No you can register your dog as an associate member for trials, and before then you can certainly join a club and train

When I got my second puppy she was in a pen inside for two weeks then once I knew the older dog would be okay with her they were both left outside during the day, secure yard with 6 foot fences and no way out, they aren't visible from the street, they had shelter and crates to sleep in and plenty of water. It was October so warm enough. A month or two later we got a doggy door so now they have access to both but do spend a fair chunk of their day outside sunbaking and rummaging. My dogs were the same size though - I would be hesitant to leave a large boisterous puppy with a very small dog.

Congratulations Mirawee! Must feel good having CH in front of a dog with your prefix Nice sendaway Ruby

Well done CleoJ - three titles in three months, nice going! Well done TO with Darcy Trixie got her JD title tonight, pretty pleased with that :D It was a nice course with a few crosses rather than just straight lines. Was really happy with her AD run too but the weave entry was tough 90 degree angle after a bar, and I over handled it and stuffed her up - whoops should've trusted her more!

Yeah it was rusky. Also it's not exclusive to K9 - cars have been robbed during an agility trial at Eden hill and no doubt other places too
-
No one is going to get held up - they are opportunists preying on unwatched cars and the bar.
-
Perhaps they should look at getting a security guard at K9

Bit of a heart attack moment there That sucks... did anyone see them? God people have no shame
-
What a striking looking dog! Awww are you sad to see him go? Are you going to get another one?
-
Don't jinx me! It says this on her site: Sounds pretty good
-
Yeah not sure why because in training my criteria is her being 2o2o, not doing a nose touch, she just does it for bonus points (or looking for snacks more like lol)

Has anybody seen this trailer for Sylvia Trkman's new DVD on Youtube

I taught it to Kyzer with a clicker and a phone book, basically the same way Caffy did but a plank would be better if you're doing perch work too He does crazy backwards walking towards it with his legs flying everywhere, cracks me up. Still supermans over his dogwalk contact in trials though  Superglue perhaps... lol Trixie was taught to do nose touches on a target, then target was moved to the end of the lowered A frame at home from when she was little, then it was backchained as she got older, she has a pretty solid contact performance, however she has only just started trialling, hopefully she doesn't catch on to the fact that she won't get fed in position in the ring like Kyzer did!

I spoke to him about it when the run was over and he told me it was clear and his reasons for not calling it a refusal - which I thought were fair enough and would've been okay under the old rules, but obviously not under the new rules it turns out. The new rules are currently in force aren't they? I have no problem with dogs being allowed to start again if they have run around the first jump in novice, the timing gates quite often throw them (a judge let me do this in Kyzer's 2nd novice trial) I have seen quite a few judges do it. All of that leniency tends to dry up by Excellent as it should really. I do think if a dog leaves the ring it should be a DQ though Back on topic though I was keeping this poll in mind last night at training. I was running a jumping course that was set up, what I seem to do is if we have a problem and miss a jump I finish with a reward (praise and maybe a small treat), then start again 2 or three jumps behind where the problem was, we tended to succeed on the second go so big party) the dog didn't shut down, she just seemed to think we were doing sequences (which we basically were - breaking it down into bits) in a regular trial though I would still aim to keep running. A refusal is as good as a DQ in a normal run

I did. PHEW nothing there I need!

I don't know if I want to click on that link...

I have lectric soda crystals in the cupboard just in case - haven't needed to use them yet though. Was thinking of putting some in a small bag and keeping it in a first aid kit in the car too just in case.
-
No I haven't heard that but it doesn't surprise me!!
-
Yeah I agree with you there Vickie. That's interesting - it means under the new rules trixies first JD run did have a refusal in it - she turned towards me instead of taking the jump and I turned around and put her back over and carried on - the judge didn't call it a refusal because she hadn't passed the plane of the jump and I hadn't told her to take it. I still count it as a refusal in my mind and felt like a bit of a cheater pants - lol but I had the only dog in my height. The new rules are currently in effect aren't they?

Yeah I know

RFT I think you should get a pool so you can teach Rosie to dive like this Bahahah gave me a giggle

No it's fine!

Yes Thanks DC, now I get it

Glad Varda is getting better - so typical that she was walking fine at the vets I don't blame you for playing it safe Mirawee, better safe than sorry and kicking yourself later!

Yeah, the exchange rate added $11 on to my purchase. Given that that is only about a quarter of what I'm saving on one item alone by buying it from Clean Run instead of locally I'm not going to complain too much though. This is true - but if the bank was faster I would've saved $10 That's 3 isqueaks!
