  1. I can't see it either HOW EXCITING! You're getting quite the collection of Norwegians  Is she from the same breeder as Strauss Mouse?
  2. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/8412552/dogs-licks-save-owners-life What a clever little dog, a lovely story I thought :)
  3. My poor Sugar Plum! I'll come and rescue you
  4. Just pop down to the fancy dress shop on the way!
  5. Can you please remind me again on Sunday night? No. do it now Especially DWD No I don't want rain thanks :p
  6. Don't forget everybody the Western Classic Obedience, Agility & DWD entries close on Monday 6th.
  7. Oh and it usually costs less to sterilise boys because the surgery is not as invasive. My boy dog was $152 from memory (he was about 5kgs at the time) at Applecross.
  8. My girl was done last year, I was looking at the bill yesterday. It said sterilisation of bitch under 20kg - $291 and IV fluids were $70 on top (I had specifically requested them)
  9. Poor Boots Hope he gets better soon! Sounds ouchy Both of my dogs didn't need to wear buckets (in fact neither of them have ever worn one)
  10. Aren't they incredible! Like you Kavik I am not capable of processing info that fast  my reward timing would be all over the place, poor dog  We have some experienced handlers here who have young dogs just starting to trial, and they have taught running contacts, one of them definitely used Sylvia's method and is emailing her videos and queries often, it is absolutely awesome to see in action but it has been problematic where there has been a sharp turn after the dogwalk (which has seemed to be in every AD course lately lol I think the judges are doing it deliberately ) There was a good article in a CR mag lately I was reading about whether you should use running or 2o2o, of course a lot of people think that a running contact is just not teaching your dog to stop but a true running contact has so much more work involved and serious amounts of repetition which is hard without equipment at home. Will be interested to see if SGs method uses a different approach much like her 2x2 weaves did. ETA and yes I feel sorry for the judges too
  11. Don't use the laser, my brother's dog is now completely obsessed with anything shiny / flashing after they used the laser when she was little, unaware MY brother's Kelpie X is ball obsessed and happy to have the ball, unless Kyzer is holding it! Then she is obsessed with him and does the staring / herding moves described above!
  12. I think it raises an interesting point though - at what point does someone say "hang on this is really just a hobby what is $5,000 really going to get me?" As others have mentioned there are already successful running contact methods out there. I am curious to see what SGs involves though. I guess it's different in the US because agility is much bigger there, and they can travel overseas and compete. But in Australia the top dog and handler in the country are absolutely brilliant everyone can agree, but they are still someone running their dog on the weekend as a hobby. (ETA not meaning anyone specific just in general) Do you think it's more of an actual sport overseas? One where you can earn a decent living? (Obviously yes if SG and co are to go by) ETA also there is a whole branding/marketing thing going on over there, which I haven't seen here, has anyone else?
  13. Good news that there is something there (you know what I mean) hope it's nothing serious.
  14. Wow! They'd want to be some pretty damn good contacts!
  15. Aww she's so fluffy and cute - and look at that beautiful rosette! Well done everyone who qualified, great effort with that alone!
  16. My OH works there too :) His work has told him he might not be flying out Tuesday at this rate especially with TC Iggy rapidly approaching ETA one of my brothers works there also
  17. Yeah I suppose it was overcast yesterday good point. ETA apparently it is 30 ATM Yep RV I have a jacket in my car permanently - for use at K9
  18. Really? I find K9 is always much cooler than my place and I live less than 5 minutes away. It can be shorts weather at home and pants weather at K9. Definitely much much cooler than Kenwick where I used to live - that place was horrible in Summer. Was the show held undercover?
  19. How is that ungrateful MG - may as well have a car that suits the purposes you use it for! Yes when I had the Festiva I got sick of doing the puzzle of putting gazebos, crates, chairs etc back in Great reliable car but no longer suited my needs! Still got it, gave it to my mum :) Forgot to comment on Annika - how awesome is she doing, and she's even at an 'awkward' age! Exciting future ahead for that girl!
  20. I don't think it will get that hot today - it's overcast near me. Won't be 40 degrees at night when the agility is on, but still going to be gross if the humidity is high. I'm more concerned about the fact that we have only trained once this year Emery does your OH work at cloudbreak? Oooh new car :D
  21. Nah there are hardly any mozzies in my 'hood :D
  22. Yeah how much water does it use? I would like one for my shaded outside area, when I eventually build it
