  1. Mine sleep in crates in my room - Kyzer has slept that way for about a year and Trixie is more recent, a few weeks, she used to sleep on my bed every night, but I have now realised that we both get a better sleep if she is in her crate! ;) :D
  2. I have a question Please don't kill me  But I did my entries the other day with a view to send a cheque - then I decided I'd rather pay via PayPal - how do I do that? Do I do the entries again or is that going to cause issues? Thank you :)
  3. Never mind, there won't be any other super awesome terrier owners there tomorrow night anyway :p
  4. Ohh never mind about the photos! Yes I had noticed there are heaps of DOLers with Lappies and Kelpies, the two must suit each other
  5. No unfortunately not, trying on clothes isn't so fun when you are not a teenager
  6. Ooh Glen Iris - I bet I know the shop you are talking about I drive past it on my way to work every day :) Oh yeah - they were a bit crazy as expected! ETA if it makes you feel better my flower girl dresses were used for dressups for years after I wore them, and when one got too small my little btrother would wear it  He turned out normal (sort of) We got good value out of them
  7. Woweee what a weekend - look at all those brags!! Congrats to Bedazzled and Ptolomy for those UDX passes!! Hope the rest for the Gr Ch come easily! And what a good boy Strauss is - the video was lovely. I'm surprised he could focus on anything at all given the week he's had And RS winning open a few days after returning from a holiday and having no training, and also being sick, awesome effort! Glad to hear Ruby is coming along, you are both going so well, a pass will surely arrive soon in the future. KathQ well done on your history making RN title :D DSO well done on your Qs and title not bad for the first trial of the year! Xena98 sounds like the coolie siblings were great as always, and well done on the passes with Inka too. Caffy sounds like Snazzy had a great time, a near miss but lots to be happy about. Whew!
  8.  Poor Rosie At the vet the other day the receptionist says to me "oh i think there is a mistake, Trixie is in as a Manchester Terrier but she's a Miniature Pinscher isn't she?" No your computer is correct :D At least a Min Pin is closer than a Dobe  I want to go back to bed too Mirawee... any puppy updates / photos?
  9. Oh gosh they are insanely cute!!! Can't wait til they get super fluffy!!
  10. Wow look at that snow!! If only Chica knew what change was ahead of her  Yes we should have a good holiday, maybe  Dropped the terrible two at the kennels, I handled it much better than I thought I would They'll be fine.
  11. That Quiz is a very fast dog! The way it got caught in the weave poles a couple of times made my stomach turn though!
  12. The OP is currently overseas, and the dogs cannot be moved from this kennel - spare a thought for the OP when you are sharing your horror stories because they will most likely just make her super stressed over a situation she cannot change.
  13. There aren't many places that will allow you on equipment with a 6 month old - Agility Club of WA are only just getting onto very basic equipment at that age - there is a lot of foundation stuff possible (recommended even) before then. Of course it depends on whether you would like to trial in the future or are just after having some fun with your dog :D To give you an idea - a social/fun class will focus on just putting your dog over an a-frame (for example) whereas one aimed at trialling will be (again - for example) teaching the contact behaviour first, then back chaining it, gradually building up to a full height so that the dog knows exactly what it's job is for that obstacle, before adding other parts /obstacles into the sequence. ETA the latter is hard to find though as most clubs cater to social agility and get people on equipment doing sequences early. Good luck with her :D
  14. Also try Eden Hill Dog Fellowship, they train on ADAA equipment though I believe. They train in Eden Hill at Jubilee Reserve http://www.freewebs.com/edenhilldogfellowship/
  15. Also try Northern suburbs: http://www.nsdogtraining.org.au/homepg.html Not sure on their class tructure but they train in Carine.
  16. Kyzer discriminates - in fact it's the only thing I've know him to chew/eat! Picked up all the polar fleece tug toys and voila - no more 'spinal injury' He's fine with polar fleece blankets though! Trixie on the other hand - loves to munch on beds and doonas also - and more than once I have emerged from the shower to find she has removed the pillow cases from the pillows, ripped the pillow protectors up, but the pillow is perfectly untouched
  17. Poor Millie... mine do that too but they can be picked up which makes it a bit easier  Rivergum is a specialist referral vet in Willetton, I had to take Kyzer there when it was suspected he had a spinal injury (he didn't - he had been eating polar fleece which was giving him discomfort and pain). Fail
  18. That's a good point Megan - a few people at my club have commented that their dogs who were trained to weave on stick in the ground poles that weren't in a perfect line can weave more reliably than ones taught on perfectly straight poles, makes sense I guess?
  19. Speak to Ptolomy ST - if you haven't already - she recently sent bloods to Dr Jean Dodds - from what she was telling me it is not only cheaper than getting them done here but also more accurate. MG I have been to Rivergum once for a consult, luckily it didn't go any further than that, I had nothing bad to say really.
  20. Yep I agree! My dogs are particularly crazy though
  21. If you go with a muzzle here is a video showing how to introduce it properly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quAlzJjJfKE Good tip about taping the e-collar, why didn't I think of that!
  22. Aaaah will have to have a peek tomorrow! I currently have no esky because I threw the other one out (couldn't bear the thought of using it after it got maggot infested... Life is too short to clean stuff like that up I reckon )
  23. That's the problem isn't it, you don't really know until your dog has been trialling for a while how effective the method is! I remember hearing someone say that a dogs contacts are at their best level when they start trialing, then they go downhill, certainly the case for my first dog, time will tell for the second!
  24. Seem to be a lot of trainers going to web based courses - guess they are harder to burn copies of ;) I went to a Derret seminar years ago when my first dog was a puppy - learnt a lot but it would be so much more useful now!
