Hah I know what you mean about not being with it Mirawee, my poor dog I stuffed her up a lot on the weekend including forgetting a jump completely in the JDX final Oh well she's my state champion  I certainly feel like we took out a big prize, just so thrilled with how much she exceeded my expectations And we got her AD title so that alone is awesome! I'm so tired today though, and my legs are rather sore! I'm sad I missed Banjo's runs!

Well done on your JDM win and GD title Jess! TO well done with Darcy I know just how that feels! You must be excited for Jovi's Debut! Well Trixie and I had a ripper of a weekend at her first big trial, our state agility trial. Saturday she ran brilliantly all day and got an AD pass in the morning, getting her into the final and also getting her AD title finally, yayyy, morning JDX was just beautiful but dropped one bar! First time that has ever happened to me. Afternoon AD missed a broad (my fault of course but didn't matter anyway) and JDX got a pass and qualified for the final with first in height, such a good girl. Sunday was the finals and I wasn't sure how she would cope, she far exceeded my expectations and was not bothered by crowds or my nerves, JDX was so awesome but her dopey handler forgot a freaking jump and cost us first place Oh well you get that, and AD final I stuffed her weave entry. Then she ran hard that afternoon in the teams event but I was so tired it was DQ city because I handled like an idiot  So the weekend was a pretty massive example of 'great dog shame about the handler' Just loving doing agility with my girl at the moment and very excited about Nationals now

Yep I used the seedless one

I fed breakfast both days this weekend (barf patty mixed into slop with water) and I am a definite convert! Trixie has only ever done single trials and tends to get a bit flat after the second run, she was running consistently hard all weekend, late into the afternoon, even on the second day - which I wasn't expecting, considering she is a terrier I also fed her watermelon throughout the day and think this helped a lot with her energy levels.

Judging starts 9am tomorrow CC

Your vet should not be discouraging you from seeking a second opinion, especially form a specialist. Doesn't sit well with me and I'm glad you are considering changing vets. Hope your girl is fine and all clear.

Hey emery - I was going through some old stuff from my school days and found a newsletter from Govo with a photo of you in it :-P Think you were doing a childcare class with kids from a nearby kindy or something - heheh!

Yep I see this a bit too, I see dogs in rescue that are labelled a Manchester Terrier X because they are black and tan, when they don't resemble a mannie at all, and sometimes even have a white chest, and MTs are quite rare so the chance of there being crosses of them in the pound is highly unlikely. Yet mine rarely gets called a Manchester terrier  I think the most impressive one is how many dogs get called a 'Mastiff' or 'Mastiff X' when they look absolutely nothing like an actual Mastiff!

Oh he had plenty of opportunity to go beforehand and is a reliable toileter, it was just one of those days, and running stimulates number twos - guess he just couldn't hold anymore! They are dogs not robots after all Rubystar perhaps we should go buy a massive watermelon and stock up

Eeek tunnel pee I was going to try similar this weekend Sheena - breakfast barf patty mixed with water, and some watermelon, see if it makes any difference, will be interesting to see if it does, particularly in that third run which seems to be the sticking point for us lately.

Ever had to clean poo out of a tunnel during a trial? I have Had to climb in and get it The one and only time my dog has pooed in the ring (hopefully the last lol)
-
They are sort of on 4 legs in the photo?
-
You know me RS - always prepared ahead of time :p Do you want to exchange them for boy ones? lol
-
Yep at K9 - bottom oval both days

Ooohhhh CC please practice on trixie, sorry she's black and hard to photograph I have no agility photos of her State agility trial Saturday Am and pm are heats then Sunday morning is finals and Sunday afternoon is teams

Why, you want to keep the children for yourself? Yep - they are your birthday present lol :p
-
Okie doke - well if I don't see you I can drop it around some time anyway!
-
Sure thing Ptolomy! Will you be at the trial this weekend or will you be on midwife duties? lol
-
I have one of these tunnels I was going to chuck out unless anyone wants it? suitable for puppies or little dogs? *children not included, thankfully :p

Wow your kids are hardcore! That's a serious trek! Sounds awesome! Does your car insurance cover a windscreen with no excess? Mine did - I got a chip on Roe Hwy a week before I was going to Shark Bay in September, and it made a nice crack across the side, but decided to leave it until after my trip in case I got another chip - wise move because wouldn't you know I did get another chip!
-
I haven't used this particular supplement but did use a similar Tryptophan one (Vetalogica Canine Tranquil Formula) and it calmed my girl down noticeably, less alarm barking etc, didn't seem to make a difference for my boy though.

YAY!!! I am - though will probably regret it - two full days - eeek!! And Trixie's second ever day trial! eek! Though she didn't suffer as badly as I thought she would at Cloverdale on the weekend, mostly just near misses ETA I'm even in the teams at the states which I am regretting lol will probably just want to sleep on Sunday arvo But yay can't wait to meet Jive! Ahhh Kalbarri! Was it awesome You have my sympathy ST I had a nasty cough virus over easter and then on last Thursday was struck down by Tonsillitis, Managed to stay at work for an hour on Friday before being ordered home lol, was so so painful. feeling fine now though, got penicillin pumping through my veins lol Oooohhhh so exciting!!!! :D :D :D
-
Watermelon is a good tip - especially if you have a dog like mine who is impossible to get to drink water! I don't feed before a trial but was thinking of starting - reason being she noticeably runs out of energy by about the third run - might try it this weekend and see if there is improvement.

I feel so ripped off, recently I was sitting on my bed crying and my two dogs completely ignored me and were having a great old time wrestling on the bed

Wow, what a touching story Dyzney - she sure is a very special girl!
