RIP Kaden, you were a beautiful boy, and very loved  You were far too young to leave us. Hope you're doing alright, Kaffy

I have a black white and tan runty looking terrier he's the ADD one I think we actually met you last week before class? We are in Adult foundation too but the group run by the lady (don't know her name yet ) Was it you with the whippet that would roll over and play dead to the dogs that were a bit full on? If so she is very pretty

I'll fight you for it!!! :D

Oooh Wow I would be very interested in a raffle for a tunnel  OR to buy a second hand one. Are the compost bin tunnels bendy?
-
SparkyTansy here is the website: http://www.prismpetfood.com/

Stonegrace, I got this tunnel, it's not great but it helps for some basic practice, may be a bit small for whippets though: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/3-x-Kids-Activity-P...1QQcmdZViewItem You could also use a plank or sheet of wood propped up against something for the contacts.
-
Interesting, thanks Sandgrubber Might have a look at it.
-
I wish I didn't see that :D
-
Its not :D I think a tunnel was around the $70 mark (A non bendy one, I got similar from ebay for $20) and the rest is expensive too. Jumps are a piece of cake to make, I made some a few months ago, for freestanding ones all you need is PVC pipe, joiners, caps if you really want and tape to make it look pretty  The cheapest place I have found for PVC pipe, thanks to Ptolomy, was the hardware on Warton Road in Huntingdale next to Charcoal Chicken. It is considerably cheaper than Bunnings. I don't have a dog walk but I have an A Frame, my OH welded the frame and I just attached the wood and painted it. Probably cost $150-$200 all up. I'd be happy to share where I got everything and how it was made if you need It's not full size though, it's narrower and the sides are about 1.8m long. Very handy for training contacts and getting him used to it. I'm pretty sure I noticed a small dog walk / contact trainer at Better Pets and Gardens in Canning Vale and if I recall correctly it was about $150.

RIP Tonka, what a beautiful boy Sorry for your loss Trisven And what fantastic photos, thanks

I taught this to Kyzer a few weeks ago Bet my dog is easier to catch than your dog I don't know how you manage it!
-
I was spying onKyzer last night, he had a bone, and was doing this exact thing!! I have never seen him do it before though, I haven't seen him do it after a poo either. :D
-
Thanks for that PF I know his breeder has done the ET with Kyzer's grandfather, so I know it can be done, although it would be a challenge. Kyzer is a fair bit taller than the average Tentie though. It does take a long time for his batteries to run flat though The heel work is a much scarier prospect than the bike ride I've got a year to think about it anyway.
-
Okay found some info (WA relevant) Dog must be between 2 and 7 years of age. It says that a simple obedience exercise before and after. Anyone know what that involves?
-
I would love to try this but I have a feeling the bike rider would let the dog down Does anyone know where I can get all the details? I.e speeds and times required, age of dog etc
-
Hannahh I am sorry for your loss :D RIP Maggie-moo

Clickers, Is One Better Than The Other?
pie replied to Norskgra's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I also like Clicker training I don't use it a whole lot, but last night I was determined to get my 1 year old dog to walk next to me on a loose lead (he is a shocking puller) I have tried a few methods before but he just didn't 'get it' (no doubt my fault more than his ). So I thought I'd try bringing the clicker in as a marker. I put him on the lead and started clicking & treating for him being beside me on a loose lead. I just love seeing the look on his face "ohhhh I get it now" and by the end of the session he wasn't pulling at all A few more sessions (this on was just in the front yard) and he should be right (I hope :D ) It got me all enthused about clicker training again
