  1. Did you vaccinate Lexi after her puppy shots? Kyzer is due for his booster according to the vet , but I'm trying to decide whether to titre first.

    Happy Wees!

Shazz, Kyzer did this for a few weeks when he was younger, he has grown out of it now. I found that ignoring him when coming through the door helped, and we had to make sure not to talk in excited tones or bend down over him until he had settled down.
  3. The details for Goat: A & D Pet Foods Connections 23 Elliott St Midvale 6056(08) 9250 1030
  4. OhMarley, I was feeding Kyzer some Goat bones Ptolomy gave me, they were mainly ribs, a good size (he is small and will bury anything too large) and he loved them. There is a supplier in Midvale (they also sell dried goat for treats), and I think they are available through South St Pet Supplies, but not certain on that. Let me know if you want the contact details. EFG
  5. Kyzer was done at 6 months, the neuter was $150, he had a retained baby tooth, so I asked them to remove it while he was under, it was just hanging on, I figured they may as well do it to save waiting for it to fall out. When I picked him up the bill was $205, they had charged me $55 to just yank his tooth out, he was already under for the desex, I thought it was a bit rough. Teach me for not asking prices before I agree to things  Although I thought the $150 desex was an okay price, it included the pain relief needle.
  6. OhMarley, it's at K9 in Southern River.
  7. I went to puppy classes at Wattle Grove vet (run by a dog 'training' place called PUPI, they do puppy class at a few clinics) and I wish I never went as it was mostly a free for all and my little pup ended up being trampled by a Dane pup which didn't help his confidence at all. Sound like the Vetwest ones are okay, but they are probably a bit far from you?
  8. Hi Shazz GREAT to see another Tentie owner They are rare around these parts Personally, I would ditch the milk, they don't need it at that age. at 14 weeks I was feeding three small meals a day, of good quality biscuits, a little bit of raw meat (pet mince or BARF patty) and some soft bones / chicken frame pieces. In a few weeks you could probably drop it down to two slightly larger meals. Please come and post some pics in the Tentie Thread  http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=69155
  9. I got this emailed to me, it is amazing :D What a smart dog and fantastic trainer!
  10. We decided to go to the specialist on Monday, find out what is wrong, then see if acupuncture / chiro / bowen can help. Hesitant to take him before finding out what is wrong, because I don't want to take the risk of making it worse if they do not know what they are dealing with.
  11. Oh I forgot to add that part into my essay His legs are working perfectly fine. And active is a bit of an understatement He has always torn around like a mad thing jumping and springing. He is 16 months old.
  12. Kyzer has not been very well lately, seems to have some kind of spinal problem, just wondering if anyone has had a dog with similar symptoms? We have an appointment with a specialist at Rivergum on Monday morning. Hopefully they will be able to find out what it is, and hopefully it is not serious. We started noticing something was not right when he would become quiet and withdrawn and not want to eat for several hours to a day at a time, but he always went back to normal so we never thought there would be something seriously wrong. He is still very active, running around flat out, wrestling with toys and us. Approx 5-6 months ago, when being held would cry quietly as if in pain and look behind him as if something was hurting, he would spin in a circle almost chasing his tail, this would happen for a short time (he would spin around once and that was it), would be weeks between this happening and he would be perfectly fine Occasionally he would go off his food for a day or so and want to sleep but this never happened at the same time as the crying so we always just thought he was not feeling well as he has a tendency to eat some strange things, and he has always been a fussy eater. Last few weeks – Kyzer has gone off his food for up to two days at a time, and cried when being held occasionally, shivering although not cold, ears completely flat and tail down, would just want to lay down and sleep, this would happen for a day or two then he would be fine for weeks. On Friday 6th June, Kyzer was sleeping and started screaming and woke us up, once I had calmed him down he was fine and went back to sleep and was back to usual on Saturday, apart from one or two instances of small whimpers He has been acting fine since Friday, but on Monday I found 3 very small pieces of faeces in bed in the morning He has also been acting normal during the day, but at night he finds it hard to get comfortable, and licks a lot. Licking his feet, bed, us, whatever he can. I gave him some pain relief but it didn’t really seem to help. In fact, seemed to make him a bit hyperactive! We have also noticed that he seems to stretch his back a lot. I also noticed the muscles along his back are very tense and stiff. Just curious to know if anyone has had any similar experiences? Thanks

    Cheyanne

    Sorry PLP  RIP Cheyanne.
  14. There was a thread on here a few months ago on that topic. Some of the suggestions that I have since used are: Chicken hearts or livers - lightly microwaved to be less squishy. Cheese Diced apple, carrot or sweet potato. I was a bit dubious about this 1, but it turns out my guys all eat it quite happily. Dehydrated Liver Kngaroo Mini Roasts or steaks, cooked and diced Jackpot rewards can be raw chicken wings or necks, cans of sardines. At the Adelaide Pet Expo there was a stand with someone selling natural pet treats. They are available in the Supermaket but I forget the brand name They had lamb crumbles which my guys loved. Hope that helps, try doing a search and you may find the old thread. There were quite a few pages and some great ideas. Pretty sure this is the thread you are talking about? http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=128070& I use sweet potato for Kyzer's treats too, he loves it! Still getting around to trying apple.
  15. Yep I'm loving my Black Dog one too. I had an old cheapie treat bag from Kmart and I forgot about food in it a couple of times... it wasn't pretty I had a bum bag but just found it too hard to keep zipping it and unzipping it.
  16. Our dogs arent allowed to even do the 4 inch jumps just step through ladders etc, on the wobbling board, absolutley NO jumping at all. Its a puppy foundation class. Gets them used to the basic idea of agility. I was talking to a lady whose JRT is ready to start competition but has to wait until June when he will be 18 months so its all perfectlysafe and puppy focussed. Oh really, when we were doing the puppy class last year (and a few weeks of this year) we were allowed over the little cavaletti jumps. Yours are pretty young though, that may be why. I'm pretty sure it's the ANKC rules that a dog is not allowed to compete until they are 18months of age or over.
  17. Yep, as PF said, ACWA offer a puppy class which mainly gets them used to tunnels and unsteady surfaces. There isn't any full height jumping or full size equipment used. There are some jumps there, they are about 4 inches or so high.
  18. Hey I saw those two pups last night! They are very cute Glad they are enjoying the agility! It's great fun!
  19. Go Blaize and Ptolomy! Interesting to see the obedience on video. You can see just what the dog is doing because the camera is zoomed in Wow, River does look like a miniature Toller! How gorgeous is he!
  20. Ahhh thanks Bulltiful, I was going to ask if they were the same price at BP&G Do they have the rabbit one or is it coming later?
  21. $23 :D I like the sound of the new packaging though. ETA: Just checked the place I buy them from has increased price by $2 to $20, so not too bad I guess.
  22. Thanks heaps for the pics, Bulltiful
  23. I like the sound of the rabbit ones. I actually like the idea of having them in a packet, because I get the frozen patty and put it in a bag to defrost anyway, Kyzer doesn't eat a whole patty in one sitting. It would probably just save my bag costs Are the prices still the same? $18 RRP?
