  1. Yep, definitely get 'back on the horse', for Sally's sake and yours. What a wacko! Glad that your OH is going with you next time. There are certainly a lot of brave people on here I will admit, I would've legged it! And let's not turn this thread into yet another Small Dog Owners VS Big Dog Owners debate
  2. Yep that's true, but does she walk at the same time every day? If so they might be able to find her easily enough?
  3. Wow! And I was complaining last night about a kid in the park who would scream like she was being murdered every time a dog entered the (very large) park. You win Maybe you can contact the Ranger or police and they can have a word with her and let her know her behaviour is not right? this is probably a good thing to do anyway in case she does hit one of your dogs (which I really hope she doesn't).
  4. I use a Fido's one for black coats on Trixie, and a blue whitening one on Kyzer, I think the brand is Rudducks, followed by Hi shine oil rinse, which is similar to Seabreeze Oil, but made for horses, and is about a quarter of the price. Works really well on their short single coats and doesn't make them fluffy.
  5. Both of mine just walk back and forwards between me and the place where the thing is. For example if Kyzer's toy has rolled under some furniture, he will walk backwards and forwards and stand in the direction of the toy but turn his head around to look at me, waiting for me to follow When I get up he will trot on a bit and then keep looking back at me until I can save his toy. If the object is around a few corners he will do each straight section at a time, checking to make sure I am following him
  6. Poodlefan also started a good thread on this: http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=179286 Good luck in your quest
  7. My 6 month old pup is Coprophagic, I tried the pineapple and it didn't work but I seem to be having good success with a product called Thrive D, it is a digestive enzyme powder that is added to the food. I have not seen her try and eat her poo since I began adding the Thrive D to her food, she will sniff it then leave it alone.
  8. Yep, get them out there, show them off and educate people with a friendly tone and a smile! Most of the people I have come across have been keen to learn about my breed.
  9. If it makes you feel better, my girl got called a boy a few times the other day, and she was wearing a bright pink collar with diamantes on it Yep, one of the good things about having a rare breed is the joy you feel when someone correctly identifies your breed! You start to appreciate small things like that
  10. He looks like a long haired whippet to me It's just one of those things with a rare breed, I've lost count of the times people have asked about my 'Dobermann puppy' but I don't mind and I don't expect anyone to know what she is, it gives me a chance to tell them about the Manchester Terrier and educate them a bit Some do the good thing and ask what breed she is first. On Saturday I took her out and she was correctly identified as a Manchester Terrier by two different people, I was very impressed But one owns Min Pins and English Toy Terriers so doesn't really count
  11. That a badly run puppy preschool can do more harm than good. Not necessarily what I wished I knew as such but with the second puppy I make sure I step in if I don't think a situation is good for her, whether that is people playing with her, or other dogs. With the first dog I wasn't as confident with this and I do regret it because I think it caused a few issues. I think it's also worth reading up on canine body language so that you can read if your dog is uncomfortable or nervous etc
  12. Also, you can step back with Ctrl Alt + Z
  13. I usually go to Kwinana beach because it's close to my brother's house. It's okay, the waves are generally small and it is fairly quiet most of the time. Hey who's organising the meet this month? I presume ILFC is busy pushing out a baby?
  14. What! No that is not fair RIP Cruise, I never got to meet you but I had seen you in the show ring and you looked like such a lovely boy. So sorry for your loss CnR
  15. Thornlie girl - my crates are from Dealsdirect.com.au and they are good As for the shop assistant, if she won't sell you a crate, perhaps she should find a new job I'm sure her manager would like to know what she said to you
  16. Don't be sorry, it's fantastic info Thanks for the help and pointers
  17. I had a quick look and found these ones on Clean Run, they look ok and have a puppy size: http://www.cleanrun.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...mp;ParentCat=34 Great, yet another thing on the Clean Run Wishlist Thanks for your help AD.
  18. Thanks AD! I thought they might be quite light because of the way they hovered so easily. Do they have the puppy ones on Clean Run too? I think our biggest downfall in learning to teach this is that I can't throw a frisbee to save myself
  19. Huga The commentary would be "and here is a BC. And a now a Kelpie. And next up is.... oh my.... what IS that?" You know I love you, Harry ;) How light are those discs? I saw one in the start video at the park which was a Clean Run one, just wondering if my Tentie would be able to catch it without being flung through the air He loves catching things and we used to have a flying ring thing that he loved (until he killed it )
  20. The small dog agility had two poodles, a Puli and something else? The big dog agility wasn't all BCs, there was a Belgian Shepherd and some other dog too. I think people are talking about the Flyball mainly, which was mostly BCs, but the BCs do dominate dog sports because they are so good at it. At least the public were seeing an accurate representation I liked the Dock Dogs, especially the Malinois who had some awesome tricks and did that big vertical jump into the water, it was awesome! I enjoyed the show and wish there were more things like that on TV. Heaps better than Cricket
  21. If he's teething and losing teeth his breath will smell, I'm going through this at the moment - blerk!
  22. I think it sounds pretty good, but I read the ingredients of the puppy food and wasn't so keen on it (wheat flour). I do like the sound of the adult Lamb & Rice though. How big are the kibble pieces? I saw the pic on your website but don't know how big the bowl is that the food is in :D
