Also - My Tenterfield has pretty much the same proportions and build as the photo in the OP, but his head is smaller and he isn't as fluffy His tail is even a similar shape and held off to one side ETA: Yes my Tenterfield is 'special'
-
I say Papillon x Tenterfield Terrier / MF The markings and ears look Tentie like but the fringing looks Pap like ETA: Looks like we've all got a similar idea
-
I'll ask at training first, that way the person can see me handle him and will know not to get their expectations too high Still got a while before entries close. Better get myself organised and become a Dogs West member I guess!
-
Yeah I'll ask, although not sure how we'd go at SP, he'd probably just want to jump over everything and wouldn't stop
-
Was thinking about Strat Pairs but don't know how to find a novice 300 partner! Or even 400, he could easily jump that.
-
I see entries close 29th March anyway. Still got a bit of time to think about it and see if we are ready (and get chicken and pull out ) Ah yes I forgot about NFC!
-
Yep I have to do it this year Ptolomy! I have to! I've procrastinated enough. We're in the big kids class now. I'm letting my dog down Yes I was considering entering Novice at the Nationals, maybe I'll just focus on that and perhaps only enter two other trials beforehand. We definitely won't be at Excellent level if we do get our Novice title before the Nationals
-
Hi there I have a question, probably rather silly, but hey! It's been bugging me. What happens if you enter a Novice Agility/ Jumping Trial that is a few months / weeks away, but in the meantime you manage to get the three passes to gain your title? Do they put you up a class or do you lose your money and that's it?

Even if Ruthless did take her dog in a crate (which would have to be a wheeled one for sure, I can't imagine her carrying it in with Chopper in it !) it's still a well known fact that a lot of dogs do not like cats, and just the presence of a cat in the room could stress them out. Personally I would've thought it was common sense not to have a cat in a vet reception area (but then I'm not exactly a 'cat person')
-
I dislike it too, my boy is a major cat hater! Going to the vet is stressful enough for a dog, they shouldn't have to deal with cats working them up too!
-
I've tried it (in very short bursts to see if it was possible ). The Tentie is fine, he keeps a good distance, but I can't keep up with him The puppy, well that's just a disaster, she just thinks it is a great game and runs under my legs and inevitably trips me over. So I gave up on the idea too
-
When I had Trixie's puppy vac done a few months ago it was around $75 Kyzer's was about the same too a few years ago, different vet. Can't remember if these were C3 or C4 though... (memory fail)

Breeder Wanting Puppy Back For Future Litters
pie replied to westozmike's topic in General Dog Discussion
If you don't feel comfortable with it I don't think you should do it. But if you do decide to do it, make sure you get everything in writing. I personally wouldn't like the idea of my girl staying in someone's kennels for 4 odd weeks, I'd miss her too much. But some people do it. -
I use this food as treats. It does seem to have hair and feathers visible in it (At least that's what it looks like to me).
-
Yep I'm another with polar fleece. I have a flat mat in the crate then a few pieces of polar fleece, it's easily washed, and my dogs can dig and scratch it to make it how they want it. If they're hot, they push it to the side, if it's cold, they bury into it.

Is it bigger than him? When he was a pup, my boy used to hump stuffed toys that were bigger than him, which wasn't hard because he was only a few kgs, he got over it though. I was watching some TV show, can't recall what it was, where a dog was doing the same thing to toys and pillows that were bigger than him, they said it was because he viewed them as playmates and was asserting his dominance over them. Not sure how true that theory is though.

I didn't get a choice with my girl either as her breeder is interstate, there's only one colour available so that narrows it down a bit in that respect, I told her what temperament I was after, all about the temperament and traits of my current dog, and what I intended to do with her down the track. I wanted her to pick because she has the experience. She picked me out what she described as the 'most people oriented' puppy, who is just what I was after and is my little shadow. Some people are fixated on the idea of getting to pick their own puppy though, when I tell people that both of our puppies were chosen for us by the breeder some of them find the concept quite strange!

Yep, the sun can fade the coat. You can get sunscreen for dogs to help it, Plush Puppy do one called Sunshade, haven't tried it though. http://www.plushpuppy.com.au/product.php?productid=63

I only know of Aqua Doggies in Southern River, on corner of Ranford Rd.

From what I understand, the test is performed in the USA and takes about 2 weeks for an answer. That's only if you want the Hepatitis component done, I believe. Our Titres for Parvo and Distemper were done locally.

Perhaps but I'd guess that there wouldn't be too many cross breeds being shown at the average dog show Sounds like CnR was nice enough about it! Last night on my walk I had two people ask about my Dobermann puppy, I smiled and corrected them and told them some information about the breed, they were all happy to chat, and a lot of them gave some nice compliments. Some other people didn't mention a breed, just asked about her and how big she'll grow etc. I think I like it better having a dog that intrigues people enough to ask questions, gives me a chance to stop and chat and gives them a chance to pat the dog.

Damn you, I came in here all excited thinking that there was going to be free shipping on soon

Absolutely, my Manchester doesn't play with anyone like she plays with other MTs! We had a MT meet with about 10 of them and they all played exactly the same, mostly taking turns chasing each other flat out, and kangaroo boxing Dogs of the same breed are usually the perfect match size and build wise too. The one time my Tentie played with another Tentie they had a very similar style too, although she was less than half his size!
