  1. Yep, I tried the beginnings on that but she had no clue what I was on about. I tried it with Kyzer too but he just kept offering me other tricks so he was madly rolling over on the book waiting for a click and I gave up :D I might look into it more and try again.
  2. Yeah might try it with her kibble and see if that lowers the stimulation level a bit :D
  3. None of mine had Dew Claws on the back, only the front, and both had them removed by the breeders.
  4. I was marking it with 'good', then treating - is that right? Been a while since I've done it!
  5. Thanks Ness, awwww look how little Kenzie was! I have tried that method before but she wants the food so badly she just jumps up to try and get it and doesn't actually sit, or if she does sit she flings her back end around first. Didn't think to try it against a wall though. I had a giggle in the second video when you put the treat behind your back and Ness appeared form the sidelines to try and eat it :D
  6. These are from last night, my videos are pretty basic though I really need to harass someone at training to film Kyzer doing a course run, though I'm not looking forward to seeing how unco I am Teaching Trixie to 'line up' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3swP957qRLw This is our first go at this, would really like feedback, please tell me if I'm doing it wrong! I'm standing next to her (trying to anyway!) with her on my left when she is sitting and clicking and treating when she's in the right spot. Going to try and do it a couple of times a day. Also some Rear Cross work with Kyzer. Sitting and moving behind him to teach him to follow where I am http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pe8wo2rkrPg Sending him over a jump and crossing behind, rewarding him if he doesn't spin. I want to assign a command to this later but not sure, what do other agility people do? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Q1xS9jpxZs
  7. Do you have a different browser you could try to see if it works on there?
  8. Thanks Tiggy She's pretty funny. I was beginning to teach her to line up today, I made her sit but when I tried to stand next to her she would spin around to face me to make sure she had a good view of my hands and any food they may hold I filmed it for everyone's amusement :D I'll upload it tomorrow. We'll get there :D
  9. Ptolomy you shouldn't have let your red dog agility trainer get her own dog Nope still not quite sure what to do with puppy grids... need to look that up. I know she's going to be fast, I have to harness it for good and not evil :D I have trouble catching up with Kyzer at agility, when I take them to the oval I hold her and fling the ring zinger for Kyzer then let her go and she catches him alarmingly fast... I reckon she's nearly twice as fast at full speed. Scary!
  10. Yes, sizes can be misleading, if that's a Large I'd hate to see a Small!
  11. That's why I have to tether my young'un ETA: Except Trixie wouldn't be walking nicely on the other side, she would be bowling Kyzer out of the way.
  12. Ah yes I know the one. Thanks Huski.
  13. ETA: figured that one out. Learning a lot from this What is that turn called where you turn to your left and Zero walked around you? (Blind Cross in the agility world? ) I've been trying to teach Trixie not to do this, what do I do if I need her to do it down the track? Uh oh!
  14. Yep, I remember one Tentie owner told me they taught their dog to heel by rewarding them with peanut butter on the end of a wooden spoon so they didn't have to crouch down My dogs would take the spoon and kill it though
  15. Here's my first one Pretty boring - mainly some flat work with Miss Trixie. I do like her enthusiasm though and I only tripped over her twice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRlaWeylnTY I'm learning things already from videoing it though... I never realised how much I lure! Bad! Also need to stand up straighter and not crouch down as much.
  16. I'm going to do the same. And you being my lone subscriber will be the first to see it when I upload it tomorrow
  17. Daisy, my Aunty has those vinyl planks, she got hers very cheap, something like $15 - $20 per sqm. They put them down themselves though.
  18. I'm going! I'm really excited about seeing all the interstate dogs running
  19. Maybe there was more than just grass on your videos.... the ones I managed to actually record
  20. Yay! I love Pepe I made a channel to try and force myself to video some training and post it. Now just have to try and video it okay, I'm a bit of a failure at operating a video camera My previous attempts have been nice videos of grass and not much else Need a tripod.
  21. I have wooden floors and there are scratches all over them, absolutely everywhere, they aren't scratches in the wood though, just in the varnish. I have small dogs too. I'm definitely getting tiles next time!
  22. Indeed, my SIL gets most offended when she takes her BC to the vet and they tell her he is overweight. She huffs and puffs and rants about it for ages. I agree with the vet, and tell her so, but she thinks he's fine. With my dogs, I prefer to be able to just see the outline of the last rib (very short coated dogs) and be able to just feel the tops of the hip bones and shoulders without pressing. ETA there are too many 'Keg on Legs' Tenties and other small terriers about too.
  23. Awwwwwwww! How cute! And there are girl coloured ones and boy coloured ones! How old are your pups there, SP?
