  1. You'll get there, it'll probably take you less than 2.5 years Actually he wasn't too bad there, obviously I broke him between then and now
  2. I knew they were filming, and I saw them filming other people, just had no idea that we were being filmed I don't mind though
  3. I hate watching them too, I am so unco But the videos are good for watching to see where I'm going wrong! I looked on the ACWA website the other day and they have a video that has Kyzer and I in it, I had no idea I was being filmed, if I did I would have tried to be a bit more elegant
  4. You mean point and laugh If you are around when we go in can you film it for me? That way I can see where I'm going wrong if he does go off with the fairies.
  5. I made a scabby tyre jump with a PVC frame and an old bike tyre, if you get stuck I can take it to training at K9 tonight and you can borrow it? Don't know if you'll have time to get there though if you have training too.
  6. So many brags! Well done everybody!!!!
  7. Doesn't he like tyres? Do you have one at home?
  8. No More worried than excited, I know he can do it but he seems to just lose motivation in jumping! He gave up two or three times at the show n go (crap handling didn't help), but his agility round was great, got all the weaves, did every obstacle right (went a bit wide after the tyre towards a see saw but came back around). I thought it was the other way around - good at jumping, bad at agility! So... dunno, might just be a paid training run at this rate
  9. Awww I got all teary watching your video too Terranik! Just lovely!
  10. Yep I used the caution tape as a bar, at least it was easy to carry Looked pretty home made though I daresay you could get the tubing stuff from Bunnings.
  11. Maybe next year, funnily enough I'm already going to Gero this April but it's for an engagement party, not fun dog stuff Hopefully by next year I'll have a new car, then someone can fit in with me (I can crate Mr Personal-Space-Issues, usually do because he gets cranky with Trixie on long trips anyway ). Ozjen - I couldn't believe that story about that woman on your trip over east, wow that's terrible!
  12. I know the stuff you need to use on the solid jump but I just can't remember what it's called! It's rectangle tubing with one side open and it would slot over the plywood. Well I set up some pretty cheap and nasty jumps at the park last night, two electric fence posts and some caution tape I found lying around in the garage Worked okay though!
  13. WOOHOOOO!! You've waited a while for this! So glad Jedi is getting better! :D :D
  14. So perhaps I will add your name to the list too, then! I definitely think it would be a lot of fun. I'd go this year if we could organise a group, but I think it's probably too short notice. And no worries Candice, if it happens you'll be sure to know! I don't own a tent either, nor a sleeping bag :D ROAD TRIP! If we go next year I'm sure we can talk ozjen into it I have a swag, I'm set
  15. This site has a couple of ideas for home made equipment: http://members.peak.org/~helix/Agility/
  16. In my case the trainer was demonstrating to the class how to lure a puppy to sit in front, so there wasn't really any problem or way it could go wrong, For things like dumbells etc, I'm with you - I only want to teach that with a certain method and I wouldn't let a trainer try a different method on the dog (unless it was a person I trusted whose methods I agreed with)
  17. Good work, well deserved! Loved those photos! :cheer: :cheer:
  18. I've got some at home ozjen has lent me but I don't think they'd fit the round jump cups? I was going to buy flat single ones and attach those instead. I've seen people use these posts and just put plastic tape between the poles to act as a jump bar too.
  19. What do these look like? A google search hasn't really helped me as there are so many types And where would I get some? Do the jump cups fit onto these? Like this: (the one on the far right) Bigger picture of a similar one ETA: Ozjen tells me you can find them at stockfeed / agricultural places, was going to have a hunt on the weekend for them.
  20. I could probably restrain myself Let me know the results if you do email them.
  21. I've let my instructor handle Trixie before, our club is mainly positive anyway and I had seen her handle other peoples dogs before, it's a beginner / puppy class so it all mainly luring and rewarding anyway. If I had a bad feeling about an instructor or didn't like their methods I wouldn't let them handle my dog. People - don't be put off obedience classes because of these stories, there are good ones out there, just check them out first and do some research. Speak up if you don't like what someone is doing to your dog - as others have said it is your job to protect them.
