  1. Yeah good plan! Remember, I have a beginner as well Good idea! I've seen these for sale at Ikea and Big W
  2. Awwww he's beautiful! Such lovely eyes. So happy for you Serena!
  3. I had a look, it took me about 5 pages to find where you are located And then the only thing I found was that you are members of SA Dog Association. Maybe a Contact Us Page? I like the pages about your dogs, good info with the test scores etc and a good insight into their personalities
  4. Ditto to all of this. Also, like to see pedigrees for each of their dogs. I really like the breeder sites that have good honest information on the breed.
  5. Ness - the electric fence posts come from stock feed / agricultural shops and are about $7 for the short ones like Rubystar has in the photo. They're pretty handy.
  6. RubyStar - you can share mine, I doubt I''ll be getting it out all the time, I usually do things in bursts then move on to something different for a while
  7. I've noticed most Border Collies are usually more focused on their handler anyway and don't really care for playing, would you say this is true AgilityDogs / Ness? I always wondered if it was because they were trained to be like that or if it was their nature.
  8. Kyzer only really plays with our family dogs of which there are 4, most of them a lot bigger than him. Trixie comes to DOL meets with me, I know most of the people and dogs, she loves to zoom around, also enjoys a nice game of bitey-face-while-rolling-on-the-ground (usually with the biggest dog she can find ) I enjoy watching her having fun and playing and it keeps her entertained while I am gas bagging I think it's good for her because she's very playful and doesn't really have an outlet for it because Kyzer rarely plays with her and when he does it's not really proper play as far as she's concerned It's also great exercise for her. Both are not allowed to play with any dogs while we are training, and neither of them have off lead play before or after training. I will usually let Trixie have a little bit of on lead play with dogs I already know well that belong to friends after Kyzer's agility class. As RubyStar said they are my pets first and foremost and that comes before any amateur agility or obedience training I do anyway. They get a lot of enjoyment from playing so I let them have that.
  9. You could try one of these: http://www.aussiedog.com.au/index.php?main...x&cPath=1_7 It's called a home alone toy and you hang it up and the dog tugs on it and you can also put treats in the ball part so food falls out.
  10. Heart attack! Depends, I usually try to leave work at 5.30, race home, get the dogs, race to K9 and be there by 6.20 - 6.30 but more often than not someone will give me something to do at 5.25pm which HAS to be done that day even though they have known about it all day and they know Tuesday is the one day I have to leave on time - can you tell it annoys me I'll try and escape early. Don't worry about the weird looks, just do it! They'll probably wonder what your strange solid jump is since we don't use them in agility
  11. I do recall an instructor at ACWA telling us at training a couple of times that council rangers had been down there fining people who were letting their dogs run off lead on the grounds. I didn't pay much attention because I only go to the grounds for training anyway. Joelle - I can't see why what you're doing is a problem, I know a few showies who bring their pups down and walk them around while training is on to get them used to the noise. There are quite often people down there with their dogs checking out the clubs before they join anyway.
  12. Cold / Flu? It's going around, I was sick last week. We'll try and set it up tonight and take photos for Ness, I want to take photos of the 2x2 weave bases at the club too That's going to look strange isn't it.
  13. The kid tunnels aren't as wide in diameter either (doesn't matter for my little dogs though).
  14. Aww Labrat, I'm so sorry for your loss, she was a beautiful horse.
  15. What! It's practically around the corner! Anywhere that doesn't require me to get up at 6am and drive all day is considered close
  16. Ow I've never seen an unpegged tyre at training or a trial. Those big metal ones are heavy too. Poor dog.
  17. Mine's made with an old bike tyre covered in tape stripes, then attached to a frame of PVC and hanging from a chain and attached at the sides so it's adjustable, it's very light and I don't peg it so if the dog did hit it (which mine never have) I doubt they'd get hurt. I've seen some horrific videos of Tyre injuries One where the dog got clotheslined on the top of it sticks in my mind.
  18. That's because obedience is better . Obedience is my first choice, but I won't be debating which is "better" Yeah I'll stay out of this argument until I've done both so I can form an educated opinion
  19. $39.95 plus post for the big one. (postage to WA was $17 I believe, less for Eastern states)
  20. How can the Maltese Terrier be the most popular dog breed when there is no such thing? I'm guessing by Fox Terrier they mean Mini Foxies and crosses because there are hardly any Fox Terriers around?
  21. All going well my brother is going to weld me up weave bases this weekend, and probably some for Rubystar too! I'll help. (Which means he'll do it all and I'll give instructions )
  22. He has skin coloured undies on under the mask though doesn't he?
  23. He's wearing undies. Where's the dedication to streaking? Terrible!
