Cosmolo - when Kyzer was about 6 months old he had a couple of instances where he would stand from a drop and his back leg wouldn't straighten, I have not seen him do it once since he matured and he had a good going over by a specialist vet when he was about 18 months old who said he was sound and healthy. At the time the general consensus was that as his bones/ ligaments/ muscles etc were growing they were a bit loose, but it came good, hopefully Gilbert's do too I feel your pain in regards to keeping a busy terrier puppy quiet

Where's that stacked photo of Ruby you posted in the Lab Agility thread? RubyStar's two are just how I like to see labs, fit, lean and energetic

Nope missed the closing date unfortunately. Spent yesterday rounding up stuff for making my jumps. My next trial is the state trial then southern river the next weekend (both am and pm trials) then the GSDA trial the next day, then NATIONALS!!!

Me too Valley, me too.
-
Valley I would probably say yes because the dog learns the correct take off point and wouldn't need to jump harder unexpectedly and would probably land better? That's my theory : laugh: To be honest I've never put much thought or theory into jumping because kyzer is small and jumps his height easily and very very rarely touches bars. It's something I need to put into practice more with trixie though I'd say, really want the Susan Salo puppy jumping DVD.
-
Well hopefully you can come to Perth for a trial in the future would love to see the whippets in action.
-
R&L that's interesting reading your post, Susan Salo who has a lot of Dvds on dog jumping is a horse person too and applies horse jumping methods to dogs with stride regulators and take off points etc.

Awesome! Thanks Mim.

I'm certainly no expert by any means! But I'm happy to share the few things I know Don't suppose anyone has a menu / price list for the pet chef?
-
Don't you dare give up! Seriously I am the most unco person in the world, truly unco! If I can manage you can too! Just takes a bit of practice! I'll pass on what knowledge I have and help you and Rosie Need to get you two up to scratch so we can do strategic pairs!

I've never used regular flea products on my dogs either... only ever had him get fleas once when we were at someones house, gave him a capstar, washed all the bedding etc and never saw another flea again.

That's funny, my male dog has never ever touched a chicken neck yet he loves wings We have opposite dogs. Our chicken necks are pretty small. OPs dog is not small - was listed as Koolie x Husky http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...=190734&hl=

Yep you have to video it! It will be good for you to look back on, it's a milestone of sorts, and we'd all love to see the spotted devil in action
-
Ditto! They give the teeth a good workout too. Chicken necks are a bit small for my liking, I worry that they will be swallowed whole..

Yes, we want video! Good luck TSD and Ziggy!

I was feeding Trixie Advance to begin with (she was weaned onto it, she did ok on it but not great, wasn't gaining enough weight) so I changed her over to EP because I preferred it for Kyzer and felt it was a better food, but ended up quite unhappy with it, she wasn't keeping weight on at all despite eating bucket loads of the stuff (went through a 15kg bag of it with 2 very small dogs surprisingly fast! :D ) and it all came out the other end just as quickly. So I changed her to Nutro and I'm really happy with it, she looks healthier and is keeping weight on a lot better than before. She's been in it for a few months now. Going by the ingredients list EP looked a lot better to me than Nutro, but the results are a lot different and were quite surprising. I doubt I'll buy EP again. I had used EP in the past with my other dog but he is the sort of dog that could eat anything and still keep condition, Trixie is quite the opposite.

I don't think it's possible for a dog below knee height to lean into you while heeling, surely they would trip you over when you took a step? Happy to see videos to disprove my theory though!

They'd be charcoal by now! Baking Easter food in January, that's just so wrong The ones I had from Woolies had too much fruit in them I reckon Haven't tried the Coles ones
-
Cute Man I wish my dogs had heads big enough to wear novelty headwear
-
Oh and the ones with peel are yucky too...
-
Sorry people, you'll have to fight it out with all the showies in the kennel zone
-
My favourite are the plain spiced ones with no fruit. Nom nom. I don't mind the chocolate ones but I'm still traumatised form the Mocha ones from last year, just the smell makes me want to vomit. So sickly and strong, ewww.
-
Move to City of Canning, Cockburn, or Armadale then
-
I pretty much ate hot cross buns all weekend I never liked the fruit ones before, but have discovered a taste for them

No way Tiggy, K9 is staying where it is! Nice and close to me
