What the? Perth WA, QLD? QLD is the default state setting, I mustn't have noticed it there before :D
-
So far it looks like it is no over Southern River on the radar, doesn't seem to be moving towards it? ACWA usually post on the website if training is cancelled due to rain / heat. Nothing on there yet though.
-
It's not normal training ozjen, tonight is supposed to be a closed club trial and the adult foundation people were required to steward in order to go up to the next class
-
RFT have you stewarded before? It is a really great way to learn how a trial works and the rules etc. I learned a lot when I stewarded. Agree about being either lead steward or backup timer, the others are scary! hehe You usually get lollies too :D
-
What are they going to do if it's cancelled, they can't keep everyone down, there will be too many people next term, Surely if you are stewarding at the States or Nationals you would get special dispensation? Well let's hope so

Awww she's very cute :D

We had to take our family dog's stitches out after she was speyed (isolated town, vet only visited once a month) and it didn't bother her, they just slipped out with no resistance at all.

Longdog, hehehe In Earth Dog trials the dog goes down a man made tunnel to find quarry (a dummy animal I'm pretty sure) and when it finds it it has to scratch and bark and alert it's handler. You can get titles. Not sure exactly how it's judged though. I wish we had it. Kyzer would be good, I got woken up with a huge kerfuffle at 6am this morning because he had cornered a mouse but couldn't reach it (it was in an old dog food bucket that had some crumbs in it) Only certain dogs can do Earth Dog, mostly terriers and Daxies ETA: Here's a US Dachshund club site that has info on earth dog trials and also photos http://vegasdachshundclub.com/earth_dogs.htm
-
Yeah I don't blame you
-
Welcome rubstar! That name made me do a double take Your Dachshund sounds like she would be great at Earth Dog trials! Unfortunately they don't have them in WA
-
How about a Mannie Then you won't complain about the dog not being interested in food
-
'not too bad throat' thoughts being sent to Lola Poor little chicken.
-
Everyone likes different dogs, if I was an instructor dogs like Rosie would be my favourite But I have a soft spot for the mental small ones as you have probably noticed She's such a happy fun little girl, I'm really glad you are enjoying learning with her You'll get there
-
But what about 2 fox terriers?! Imagine how fun it will be trying to water the plants if you had two!
-
Crikey! Hopefully more people will volunteer and you can get one day off! Otherwise you only get to see the runs in the one ring.
-
For the Nationals, MM?
-
I'll be there Friday and Saturday.
-
Good, I don't want anyone watching! Hopefully the weather improves.
-
Do you train during the day as well? Most of our clubs train at night under lights so our dogs are generally more used to that Yep - we train in the daytime as well - obedience and agility. The only under lights agility trial down here is at Launceston Royal - and that's a quick job to get the dogs out before the fireworks LOL. And I think the local obedience people would have a pink fit at the idea of working under lights . Unfair advantage for the Nationals!!! ;)

I'm a bit worried- this Saturday is our first day trial and both Kyzer and I share a dislike of mornings Yes it is good having other nervous people to sympathise.
-
Ok Mirawee I'm in novice agility and jumping for all 3 trials & nationals. Regarding the nationals, do you think 8.30am is too early for an alcoholic drink to calm the nerves?
-
You have no excuse! You're an old hand, ness!
-
I'm not so sure, I'm feeling a little light headed What have I done
-
Yep, I'll be there every day I had heart palpitations this morning when I realised the State Trial is THIS FRIDAY now I'm freaking out, and I have also entered every trial available for the next 3 weeks... eep. You're going to need the sugar from ozjen's sister's caramel slice to keep running since you have so may dogs entered I might bake something too, a savoury snack perhaps.

I don't like macadamia's so took the choc ones, can't blame me They were very yummy! Actually craving one right now for brekky with a coffee I don't like them either but I loovvvee white chocolate so I usually pick the macadamias out and throw them away Why can't someone make a white chocolate cookie without macadamias?!
