What clubs are these? ie. are they going to be at K9? Nope agility is at Lumen Christi and obidience is at Carine. Are you sure? Our club calender for Northern Suburbs says that the agility is at Northern Suburbs? Let me go double check... I think she's talking about a different weekend MM, the Northern Suburbs agility trial is on the 6th?

Your Choice For A Small Performance Dog

After meeting Xena98's Coolie Gabby I know what I'd be getting  I do have a soft spot for Aussies ad Tollers too though. I have seen some Vallhunds at my club, I don't think that they're very good for agility IMO, they really battled to get over the jumps (and one of them was jumping 200) but I know there are some Corgis who seem to do ok? Just seems like not much leg to propel a large body! -
Pretty sure Trixie was about $320 from Brisbane to Perth including pickup from the breeder and crate hire. It may be worth getting the breeder to ring also because Dogtainers gave my breeder a cheaper quote than they gave me.

NO WAY! It seems like just yesterday you posted that thread with his cute baby photos!!! Time flies! Congratulations!
-
It makes you awesome because only awesome people walk courses before they are even trialling

I know, I love having K9 right there - don't know if I can be bothered going all the way to the north side! ETA: But it is the first agility trial in ages so I'll probably be hanging out enough to make the voyage

It Might Be Time To Make The Hardest Decision... :(

Our family dog was like this, typical of her really, some days she would be not so great and just when we thought it was time she would perk up and be her old self again, damn dog! It's tough, it really is. Although it's not Kyga's time just yet I still wanted to say that I'm really glad I got to meet your special boy :D ETA: JulesP, I'm really sorry about Fern Hugs to you. -
June 5 is the midland double obed trial and June 6 is Northern suburbs double agility trial

Most of the breeds I was going to suggest have been said. Shelties - Tiakina is a common prefix on the agility shelties over here and there are a few Ag Ch Tiakina dogs. As PF said can be nervous / shy JRT's - a bit easier on the leggier ones rather than the very short ones Mini Poodles - there were some awesome ones at the nationals, very clever dogs and speedy Cocker Spaniels I would also suggest a Tenterfield, there is an Ag CH one, but there are a lot of nervous ones around (including mine, but we're getting there slowly!), they are fast learners and very agile. Of course I will also say Manchester Terrier, they have almost no coat, our local Agility Mannie Foxwood Gatekeeper became an Agility Champion over the weekend! They need a lot of socialisation (but I say that for all dogs anyway, terriers more so). I personally prefer dogs with a bit more leg for agility as you can probably tell. The most important thing to consider is whether or not you can live with the breed in every day life. I agree with FHRP, you should really meet some representatives of the breeds first and speak to some people who do agility with them. -
How long a break is Mr K getting? You coming down on Thursday night? ACWA starts back again next week, right? The 11th? Can't wait Ah geeeez, I'll see how I feel on Thursday! I feel pretty exhausted at the moment but on the other hand we have a lot of work to do! ETA: He seems fully rested if the zoomies through the house last night were anything to go by Yes, ACWA is back next week.

You can contact them before the closing date and they will put you up to Excellent, but if you get your third pass after the closing date you will have to run in Novice. (at least that's how it was explained to me!)

Kyzer has the week off Agility training, I told him to kick up his paws and relax after 4 busy days

I don't envy you having to Drive home, Xena98! Can you drop Gabby off at my place on your way out, thanks -
Although the BRT isn't apparently a proper 'terrier'. I agree though, my wheatens are 20kg give or take a kilo or two. They aren't all like the JRT or the Westie. There are heaps of different terriers. After I posted I went looking at info, they are in the utility group! Confusing!
-
Awww there's a photo - she's beautiful!
-
I was also going to point out the weight of terriers part - I know Airedales can get to over 30 Kg, the Black Russian Terrier can be over 50kg apparently!
-
You have said exactly what I was going to WnJ... I am yet to meet a purebred papered JRT that I could fault temperament wise. I think they are awesome little dogs and to be honest I wouldn't hesitate getting the right one (from the right breeder) if I had children. Absolutely awesome little dogs that have a very undeserved reputation.

Congratulations SP, that's awesome! Now there's something missing though.... PHOTOS!
