Hi :-) I am new here - I found this forum and discussion when searching for Aminyllin because my beautiful 12 year old pekingese has suddenly developed a heart problem... I say suddenly because only a couple of months ago the Vet said his heart was sound - no problem with it at all then.... Anyway - my Freddy has been having seizures since about December last year and has been on Phenobarb (1/2 tablet twice a day) and then early this morning he had a horrible seizure - a bit different to what he had done before - they always start with big hacking horrible coughs... he has also been very laboured with his breathing just lately... so I went straight to the Vet who has given me these Aminyllin tablet to give him as well (1 tablet twice a day) and I have been reading that its not recommended for (people) who have or have had seqizures and in the pet tablets advice it did say that a (rare) complication or side effect can be seizures... I don't know what to do now... I'm scared to give it to him and scared not to... any advice or help would be so appreciated - this dear little dog is so special.... thank you ... Anthea
