  1. My boy was 11 last year, produced 13 puppies. Will use him again this year, will be almost 13 then.
  2. I had a 13 week old puppy years ago that had Parvo, after the virus was killed, he still did not eat and was not well, vet gave me Buscopan to give him for a week, and he got his appetite back and was back to normal once he regained his strength after 12 days of no food when had parvo. Just took the pain away and so got him eating again.
  3. As previously stated (in another topic), we are looking to limit the number of shows for next year in the dog of the year (All Breeds) comp. The system will automatically choose the top 30(?) shows. We still haven't sorted out the Rising Star comp. Choosing the top 30 shows using a flat points system is likely to have a lot of dogs all on the same level. This is also likely for the Best of Breed competition when there is relatively few shown in a breed. We will continue to work on it. I do like the idea of nominating a number of show, would make much fairer I would think, might have 1/2 a chance then, none at all now.
  4. Good luck! Would love an Anatolian, but not sure they would like my Flat Coats. Okay SH we will tempt fate ;) If Storm gives has a miracle litter of import semen Anatolian pups I'll send you one we have Anatolians sharing family homes with Cairn Terriers, Chihuahuas, Newfoundlands, Labradors and more so I'm sure Flatcoats will be fine ;) Cool, will wish you lots of luck then! Our girl had ultra-sound last night, I tried to tell them 6 puppies will be just fine, vet says 10-14! Oh no, not again, last 2 litters 14 and 13 OMG. :D :D :) Did all survive in the other litters?? lost 1 from litter of 14, and 1 from litter of 13.

  6. That is true, but from my experience there are a lot more entries overall at the Vic shows. So if you win, thats great, but a lot of the time, you don't....! I don't think so, as they have so many small country shows, we do not, our gundog entries are usually higher, other than their really big shows.
  7. It can never completely be fair I think, for example Vic already had 12 or so shows, SA have had 3. Febuary SA have only 2 country shows that most people won't go to because of the heat policy. I am quite sure Victoria will have plenty. So by end Feb, I would have had 3 shows, Victorians may have had 20 or more. Plus Victoria, Qld, NSW etc have a LOT OF small country shows, and have a choice of 2 or more places to show, we have 1 choice, and very very few small country shows.

  9. If all goes well, I will have a litter due March 10th. Ch Beauty Nights Diamond Dog (imp swd) to Ch Skyehaven Just A Star. Will be our first litter from this Swedish boy of ours, so be interesting to see what he can produce, his sire is still winning BOB's in Finland at 11 years old.
  10. I had a parvo puppy several years ago, and already had a pregnant bitch, who I couldn't not have pups for 2 years, they were born only 2 weeks later, none of these 10 puppies got parvo, being in the same places the other pup was. He survived after 11 days at the vet. We did a lot of bleaching and Virconed as well.
  11. I was going to ask the same question. I tried desperately to put weight on my young Dally (there are threads to prove it ) but he was simply a very late maturing dog and, at 3 years of age, is finally filling out a bit more and not looking half starved. I don't like to feed too much fat as you can trigger pancreatitis so higher protein would be my suggestion. A search for "satin balls" would also give you a few recipes 2 1/2 years, he has been used at stud for 1st time and since doesn't eat all of his food, he is dog that needs weight to look his best for the show ring, so want something so he doesn't have to eat as much but gets and keeps weight on.
  12. Hi there, I have the same prob with my cavie male, & i too dont wont to make him fussy feeding him chicken ect, I find nutri vite very good, it stimulates there appetite, & he loves it..... hope this helps cheers fee Thanks Might try it.
  13. thanks, gets difficult, never used to be a problem and don't want to make him fussy, and wait for better stuff and don't want him to loose too much weight as I show him and is a dog that needs weight on.
  14. where do you get this stuff, do fussy dogs like it?
  15. one of my dogs had his first couple of mating Thur and Sat nights, now won't eat anything, heat probably not helping either, but never had a problem with Flat Coats eating before, any idea's on what to try?
