  1. is that the right link or did I miss it? ETA: I found it. That table of side effects is a bit scary.
  2. he's never had fleas, he's been a bit itching the last few weeks but it started long before that. He does get a lot of tangles around his backside because he sits on his tailbone and spins around on it if you call him from the other direction, plus his peticoat hair on his legs is a bit longer so it gets a bit stuck. So maybe its soemthing to do with that?
  3. We used to use woolwash but it wasn't doing Buster's coat any good and we ended up buying some other stuff. After we ran out i got some P.A.W Sensitive Skin, Mild Shampoo (Rosemary and Sandalwood) and figured I'll try that. Their all being bathed tomorow. Just wondering what you use and what else there is available as I'm pretty clueless on shampoo's. One other thing, just at the base of his tail Buster has developed really corse hair that kinda flicks up slightly towards his tail, depending on how it dries. It's only appeared int he last sixth months or so and it drives me crazy that the rest of him is soft and fluffy and this one bit is really dense and corse. Is it just because thats where the hair meets?
  4. Breed and age: CattleDog/kelpie mix, 5 years Product name, size and cost: Innova Evo, 1.5kg (have to double check that but I'm pretty sure its right) at $20 but I can usually find one pack marked down to $20 Daily amount fed: 1/2 -3/4 Cup How long does the bag last: 3-5 weeks Average cost of feeding/week: $5 dollars Anything to add: He only gets dry for breakfast, dinner is cooked mince, vegies and pasta or raw meat/bones. Plus treats. I have only just changed him over to this in the last few weeks.

On at 1:12I can understand how you would teach a dog to walk on its back legs but would this have to be the sort of thing a dog already did and just applying command, like some dogs stand on their front legs while peeing? Or could you teach it from scratch?
  9. I use a mix of kibble, cat biscuits, sometimes cheese, sandwhich meats from the deli if their cheap and bought dog treats. ACtuallya couple of times I've made my own treats, got cheap liver or kidney at the supermarket, cut it thinly, lay it on a baking rack and baked it for a few hours. The dogs will kill for it but it stinks the hosue out a bit while its cooking so I can only do it when no ones home lol.
  10. I just followed the instructions of the movie with the pillows. Buster can now jump into my arms. I'm a pretty poor catcher and some of his jumps are a bit pathetic but he did it really well. It's not as hard to catch as I thought it would be, that was fun!
  11. lol I wanted to teach Buster but he'd probably throw me over a few times if I wasn't ready. Mac's easy enough, at 11kg she's not that difficult to catch lol
  12. We taught mac by calling her over a fence at about waist height and catching her
  13. we do flyball with mac, we picked it over agility for her because her attention span is quite short and my sisters patience isn't great either (Mac is her dog) Mac does well because you just let her go and she knows what she has to do... got get that ball and get back as fast as you possibly can. Even saying "jump" over the jumps on the way back throws her out and she drops the ball and forgets whats she's doing. We've only had a few practices with an actual team and no competitions yet but she's doing so well she's amazed us. Will get some video in the next couple of weeks and show her off.
  14. I saw a woman a while ago with a "mini pom"... honestly. Not as cute as standard ones. People were cooing at it and talking about how cute her "mini pom" was.. I heard her say it and just kinda went.. "ah..." and walked off. SHe also had a TINY! chi puppy, this pup already had hert problems and it was showing

    Cats N Dogs

Mac acted way too overexcited when we first introduced her to Elliot. We just held her at one end of the couch while he slept at the other and only let her get closer when she calmed down so that she learnt being over the top doesn't get her anywhere. The other 3 we introduced about a week later. First Sophie who had known he was around for a week so hardly paid any attention to him, same with Harry. Buster just wanted to eat him though, upset me heaps. Panda and Buster were best mates but he wasn't taken with another cat. It took about 2 weeks with them, from having him on leash 100% of the time, to having him on leash but me not always holding it, till Elliot could walk right by him and Buster would just look. After a few weeks I even managed to get them to walk by each other in the hall. A couple of quick swipes from Elliot has taught him that when he gets meowed out just back away your too close. I think I'll onlyhave older cats whiel I lives with Harry, his prey drive is huge, as is buster's but Buster is very controlled int he house. I don't need to worry about a kitten with no idea. Now months Later Elliot can stroll into the middle of where all the dogs are standing, he has full roam of the house at night as do Sophie and Mac and Buster has finally dropped all his weird glances at him and its back to like he used to be.
  16. natures gift usually mixed with something like this organic thing we found a while back. Still havn't found anywhere selling eaglepack
  17. RIP Oakley, you touched a lot of lives. I loved seeing your pics. I've seen this thread sitting here but to scared to look incase it was him. Run free oakley.
  18. I use whatever we have. I buy a different type of treat every time we go down, I also use bits of chopped up chicken or leftover lamb, every once in a whiel I will slice up liver or heart and dry it slowly in the oven. They love it so much but it stinks out the kitchen a bit. If there is none of those things I use cheese or their nomrla kibble, just try to keep it exciting.
  19. Buster's funny, he's not a bad jumper but won't attempt something unless he thinks he can clear it. Mac is happy to scrabble and I was thinking of doign the high jump a few years ago with Buster but he wouldn't enjoy it, and I don't want him to freak out about big jumps.

    High 5/shake Hands

Actually I'm also having troubl;e with Busters "rollover" and "spin" over the last 3-4 years I've been practicing on/off. Usually I give up after a few months because he just doesn't get it. He I used a treat to lure him but the thing is I think he focuses so much on the treat he doesn't relise what action he's taking so it doesn't click in his head. Any other methods of teaching the sae trick?

    High 5/shake Hands

He can do it, took a few minutes of him strating to drool all over my hand because he could smell it till he eventually just raised his hand at it, treated that, the next time I waited till he touched it then opened my hand. A couple of minutes later I stopped giving him the treat in my closed hand but gave him a spare, then I offered him an empty closed hand then eventually an empty open palm and the cue word. lol he's a smart boy, he got it in 10 minutes. CrashTest, Your not know a lot of tricks. I need something else I can teach him, he's AC/BC, very very bright but not hugley athletic really. Any more trick ideas?

    High 5/shake Hands

Thanks, will start more work tomorow. lol He defientley knows clickers means treat. I can click it once at the other end of the house and he'll come bolting, its ot a recall tool really he just figured out click=food and comes whenever he hears it, he has a good memory, I've got him listeing a lot better in the last week by consistnetly treating him, now starting to cut it out, he's doing well. Buster just "got" shake hands, Harry doesn't have much of a clue, thing is he's really dextrous so once he catches on it shoudl be easy enough.
