  1. What are you getting? A koolie. It will be mums puppy but I'm so excited none the less. Pups are about 4 weeks old now.
  2. My second order is already over $170... but most of that is the two cooling mats I am getting for my guys. I've wanted some for a couple of years and I like the sound of the ones they are selling that I don't have to wet down.
  3. Mine are getting spoilt this year. We have a new puppy arriving about a week before christmas so I've used that to justify new toys. Quinn has quiet a few little toys I've bought saving for christmas and her big present is a custom made leather collar I've been holding out on buying, Buster is getting a super soft snooza bed for his sore hips, he also has a big bag of treats coming.
  4. I made an order tonight and have a list in my head of the second order I want to make before the offer ends.
  5. I've racked up about $250, about $100 of that is christmas presents and about another $50 is bits and bobs I bought because they are SO much cheaper (like 12 clickers, heaps of cabinars etc) I got a kong and two kong wubbas for less than I'd pay for 1 kong here, crazy. Planning on placing another order in a couple of weeks (want a couple of cooling mats and another harness for Quinn) but it can wait a bit longer because I want this stuff here by christmas.
  6. We should find out any day now which puppy is ours, can't wait!
  7. I'm enjoying this way too much. I am justuifying spending so much because someof it is christmas presents for dog mad family. And Mum is getting a pupping a week before christmas so she's super easy to buy for this year.
  8. Drivey Intense Athletic Intelligent Highly Trainable Border Collie :D
  9. When we had a pool we had it fenced for the dogs. At the time we had Buster - who would swim with us occasionally and was young and fit. Daisy - my sister's MaltX who didn't really like water and our big Bull Arab mix girl who hated water. Both the girls were carried in repeatedly and then guided to the step to try to teach them how to get out if they ever fell in. Neither of them were great with it, the big girl would just panic and head for the edge and try to drag herself out which she was never strong enough to do, so gate was always shut unless we were out the back with them.
  10. i have an 18 month old BC and an almost 9 year cattle dog mix. Also live with my sisters almost 6 year old kelpie/mini foxy mix and Mum's getting a koolie pup in about 5 weeks.
  11. I think with raw, the general rule of thumb is for an adult dog to feed 2% of their ideal weight per day. I'd start there and then see what your individual dog needs. I have a very active, young, 14kg BC girl, she eats between 1/2 and 3/4 of a medium to large chicken frame for one meal. My 18kg, 9 year old boy eats slightly less than her.
  12. Bumping this as the course is looking like its going to open up again soon and I was wondering how everyone went with the last one?
  13. What an idiot, she had every chance to save her dog and didn't take it.
  14. How stressful. This is my biggest fear with Quinn. She's very shy with dogs as it is and it worries me what a bad experience could do, she particularily doesn't like offleash dogs, they make her nervous after being rushed by a few. I suppose I'm lucky that she seems to be able to recognise training environments as safe places and gets very confident and full of herself.
  15. the only beach pics I have of Quinn are her at about 6 months old.
  16. We have a damn just down the road I take Quinn to a few times a week, its her favourite place on earth. 4 by Buster-Quinn, on Flickr 5 by Buster-Quinn, on Flickr
  17. How infuriating. And it completley misses the point that EVERY FAMILY is different. A GR or Lab won't suit everyone the same as a Pug won't suit everyone. Getting a breed soley on "they are the best family dog" is a terrible idea. Hmm... unknowledegable family with multiple young children and not much spare time with a rambunctious young lab? Sonds like a recipe for success.... Anything ending with oodle? that really narrows it down to a good idea of what you'll be getting.
  18. The B is for Buster, the Q is for Quinn. I don't really like it though so am open to suggestions.
  19. I clip all ours nails, Mac and Buster I have a cheap dremel type thing to use to round off the sharp edges but Quinn hates that stuff so hers just get clipped and then rounded off on walks.
  20. I think its a lot to do with expensive health testing, often needing C-sections and small litters on top of that. I think for that breed its a perfectly suitable price. I've seen adults advertised much cheaper.
  21. Such a big litter. Gorgeous. Can't wait to see more pics. I adore pugs!
