  1. Didn't think it was likely.
  2. I know the feeling. BC's make my heart thump, as does seeing a nice red and tan kelpie. There are a lot of breeds I want to own in the future but I'm going to need some more room so I can just live on my own as crazy dog lady. lol
  3. Just wondering. Anyone heard of any over here?
  4. I think koolies. A lot of people think they only come in merle so breed to merle to merle. I've been looking at these babies for a few weeks, I wanna rescue one!
  5. She is, she's a farm bred girl though and not registered but I met both parents plus a full sister from a previous litter, I'm loving watching her grow up.
  6. Quinn, the first pic I saw of her, around 3-4 weeks old. She was this big when I first met her. Tiny! 8 Weeks She turns 5 months in a week.

  8. Just saw this posted on another forum I'm a member of. I find it very disturbing. Like watching an abuse video. That poor, poor confused dog.
  9. Raw most nights, chicken or lamb or beef or turkey necks etc. I have artemis maximal for mornings mixed with some yoghurt or eggs or veg/rice. I'm not happy with it atm though and I'm changing it around a bit to see what works.
  10. I use Avantix every 3 weeks and check daily. Never even had a tick. *knock on wood*
  11. Kind of annoying they couldn't get a bit more info out on what to look for in a breeder but I don't think they did any damage so thats good.
  12. I taught Quinn that "quick" game. I yell "QUICK" and run off, she chases and as soon as she reaches me I spin around nad treat her or play tug. We practice everyday and she'll call off nearly anything now if she hears it. Wish her actual recall was so reliable. I plan to use it if I ever have to in an emergency - snake, traffic etc. And I have used it once to get her out of the way of one of the horses who decided to start zoomies. Thats why I plan to keep using a reinforcer every single time.
  13. Awesome, I'll switch to interceptor I think.
  14. I have been using Sentinel Spectrum as my wormer and Advantix as my flea/tick control. I've run out and need to buy more and just noticed that Sentinel is also a flea protector. I would prefer not to double up because I'm going to stay with Advantix anyway because we've never had a problem with paralysis ticks while they've been on it. Instead I was thinking of changing to Heartguard as the heartworm protection, but am I right in thinking that they only provide protection from heartworm and not other worms aswell? Would I be better off staying with Sentinel + Advantix. Whats everyone else use?
  15. I don't think I could move overseas anyway, I couldn't imagine leaving Australia. It's not like your dumping him, he sounds like he'll be happy here and you can always move over, see how it would work and bring him over afterwrds. I left Buster for 3 months last year when I went up north, eventually I went down to NSW and got mum to send him down to meet me as he was getting restless without me at home. I remember picking him up off the plane. I walked up to the crate he was in and started calling him, first he turned around and looked at me like "ahh.. just another stranger" and a second later I saw something click and the tail started going a million miles an hour. lol
  16. Ahh, I'm so glad they are feeling better. I can't imagine how you must have been feeling.
  17. Desex. I only believe in breeding to better the breed and provide something reliable that people want to buy for. If you want a nice family pet and nothing else you should be abel to find one in show or working lines. No one needs to be breeding just for pet quality dogs.
  18. I booked a cabin on my own and they told me it was the last one available so if someone needs somewhere to book or wants to make it a bit cheaper let me know. It'll be cool to meet some DOLers.
  19. One of those times I'm embaressed to be human. No punishment will be enough.
  20. I did have him on raw only for about 6 months about a year ago but I didn't see a drastic improvement in his condition so I figured it was easier to keep a bit of dry food in his diet for convenience (nights when there just isnt any meat in the house etc) and this was before he started showing allergies. As for Quinn I'd ike to keep her on mostly raw but would like the convenience of dry incase we have to travel she can just eat that. I know I am probably ging to have to feed her differently though, she's a growingpuppy who I would like to be a performance dog and Buster is almost 8 and just startig to slow down. What differences does this mean to a raw diet even?
  21. I'm not naive enough to think that. But I don't think you can fix a severe behavioural problem in one session. I think good dog training probably doesn't make great TV. But what he does does. I just don't think its a fair situation to put her in.
  22. Just saw this thread, its a good read. Poppi had such a lucky break, she looks like a white version of my little sister's foxy/kelpie mix... who had to come and investigate when she heard the squeaking video.
  23. Thanks guys. I do like the look of the polar pads thickness for Buster because he's got HD. LittlePoppet, those look quiet thin, are they? I would probably still consider one because I do plan on travelling with Quinn a lot when she's older and that would be easier to travel with.
