Surprised such vastly different breeds have vastly different tolerance levels to the stupid things people do? I wish people would learn that every dog can and will bite if you push it enough and you have to take each individual as they come. Sure it helps having some breed knowledge to understand how the dog might think but its more dangerous than any dog to blanket them like that. I've had friends come over and when meeting Buster ask "does he bite" my answer now is "why? what are you planning on doing to him?" he tolerates people well but I don't think a stranger could push him too far, which just means I have to do the extra bit to protect him from dickhead people that think any dog should be able to put up with anything.

Oh my god, there are some scary people out there with dogs. Learn something new everyday though, I didn't know evey dog had 5 moles in exaclty the same place but its right, just checked all the dogs.lol 4 pure staffy's here.

I think its dangerous, I cant seen man dogs enjoying it. Drunk owners, crowded place. Just a disaster waiting to happen.

exactly and it aint going to get any better. the only people who are not tarred and feathered by someone have been either extremely lucky or no ones decided they dont like em yet. as for the cc's doing the "accredition" thing. i rang and asked why is this being done. to be told after the "pedigree dogs exposed" fallout and this being done in the uk and recommendations that an accreditation schem be implemented that the canine councils "have to be seen to be doing something" or if they do not show they are making an effort then the rspca and governement will legislate and take all rights away from the canine councils or words to that effect. I'm not going to pretend I have the best understanding of the ANKC, I've never had a lot to do with it but I am interested and I've been following teh drama that Pedigree Dogs Exposed caused and learning what I can for the last few years. But doesn't reacting like this make it look like they were ignoring problems before? I can see this all getting very messy with good dogs and good breeders stuck in the middle of it when they shouldn't be. Wouldn't it be easier if everyone had decent ethics and puppy farms just wern't an issue.

He's so cute, great name aswell. -
Wow, that is incredible. i especially love the dalmation puppies.

These "big headed, guard amstaff" breeders are just doing what bad breeders always do. This is a perfect example of why BSL fails, take away one breed and the unethical people that ruined it will just move on to the next breed.

We've always had mixes. Quinn is the first dog I've got to choose, first puppy I've got to raise and I definetly knew I wanted a BC. I think I'll always have a BC or a kelpie. I need that owner-orientation and trainability in a dog. There are a few other breeds I'd like to try out and one day I'd really like a Mal but not just yet.

I do want to start joggin with Quinn once she's older. I'm pretty unfit atm so I figure I'll just start a program and get us both jogging at the same time. She's only 5 months now though so I'm going to wait it out a bit.

The dogs seem to pick area's they prefer for themselves, Buster tends to go so far back into the un-maintained gardens out of emabressment that we rarely even collect his, Mac likes to go anywhere and everywhere, Quinn picked one corner around the side of the house and Harry likes to go in the bushes. We pick up ionce or twice a week and just sweep the entire yard, we probably miss a few but it doesn't both us that much. Quinn has ben a bit of pain to housetrain, just becauise we can't leave them free acess to indoors/outdoors as Harry doesn't like the other dogs. So even if she started looking like she needed to go I had to pick her up and move dogs around before I could take her out. She turned 5 months old today and she's pretty good now, only has accidents if we don't let her out for too long and they are always right byt he door.

Our lot live indoors/outdoors. They don't all get on so they are rotated. They all sleep inside. I walk them nearly everyday, we've got 10 acres so I just take BUster down there for a run because he gets stressed out when we leave the property, we're still working on this. Quinn I try to get out of the yard everyday because I'm still socialising her as much as I can. Not generally in bad weather but I don't own an umbrella or a raincoat atm.

Back from the clinic, Quinn's first reaction was terror as expected. She did improve each time though and once she relised sheep move away from her I did see a bit of her instinct come out, she's still pretty nervous though. The trainer was great, gave her plenty of rest, didn't push her to hard, lots of reassurance and breaks and was really patient with her. She's konked out right now, big day.

I am getting up at 4am tomorrow to take Quinn south of Beaudesert for a beginners clinic. Havn't had a chance to have much to do with herding and I really can't wait to see what she thinks. There shall be pictures.

Cool dog but I'd be way too worried mine would get hurt to let them do half that stuff.
-
God what an emotional reollercoaster, you and chase are still in my thoughts. Fingers tightly crossed for a good recovery.

I usually wake up because of Quinn, with her staring directly at my face or else smashing around entertaining herself under my bed. I can lie there with Buster as long as I like but the second I say "alright" and sit up they both jump up and run to the door.

Classic.

Awesome news, can't wait till you have him back home.
-
I waited till Quinn was 12 weeks and up to date with her vacc's before I started puppy class with her. Because the classes were held out the back carpark of the vet and I just didn't want to risk it.

I might have to try some of these recipes.

Glad he's still hanging in, I hope when you get him home he's healthy and happy without any further problems.
-
Hoping thismorning brings good news.

He's very cute, I'm glad he's turning out how you wanted.
