  1. Those photos were Eumundi last year, it was so packed it was almost ridiculous. I don't think I'll be there this time, spent too much money on fuel last weekend.
  2. I'm starting the NDTF course in April and hopefully doing a bit more with Quinn in the next month or so so hopefully I'll meet some more people. It doesn't help that I'm painfully shy though (as MrsD may have noticed on the weekend) and I don't really know anyone else remotely interested in training to get a kick start with.
  3. Has anyone been before? how crowded did you find it? I went to the Eumundi one but it was so crowded we could barely move, if its gonna be a good show I might see if the family wants to go own and check it out.
  4. I only walk one at a time. Buster is DA and I don't need him teaching Quinn bad habits or getting her involved in a fight if we run into another dog.
  5. I did find having 4, feeding was the most annoying issue, its just such a hassle. We only have 3 here ow and it doesn't feel like quiet enough. 2 are mine, one is my sisters, my mother lost both of her two last year but she's concentrating on her horses for now and doesn't have time to be raising another dog, so we're happy at 3 for now.
  6. I'd like to eventually have somwhere between 4 and 6. But no more than my current two until I atleast have a rental history and no more than 3 till I own somewhere. It seems like the line other people draw between dog interested and crazy dog lady is when you go past 3.
  7. I would also wait for "the storm to pass" Quinn has just hit adolescence, I've been bracing myself for it but its not going tobe a fun few months. I asked her for to lie down last night and she just gave me a blank look like "I have never been taught that" never mind it was her favorite command 3 weeks ago.
  8. Raz was so engaged everytime you took him out. And he's beautifuly, plus I'm glad Quinn did gain some confidence around other dogs even if its did send her into the crazies. Glad Jarrah is okau MrsD, he was one of my favourite dogs there.
  9. Awesome weekend. got home just after 8. Was cool to put some faces to names and even cooler to see everyones dogs. I feel like I have much direction on stuff to start working with with Quinn and I think I want to get into obediance. Hopefully next time I'll have some more stuff to show off and a quieter, less naughty, more mature dog. Thanks Steve!
  10. I'm off now. Should be there around 2:30 or 3.
  11. I work in a restaurant and I often bring home leftover steak, chicken or parmi's and cut them up into treats. I sometimes buy homebrand chicken rolls from coles and use them but they seem pretty unhealthy so I don't like to use them too much. I also recently bought a dehydrator of ebay for $50 and I'm using it right now for the first time. I boiled some liver, cut it up small and put it in so we'll see how that works out.I also kept some after boiling it and froze it so I'll see how that goes aswell. I find poached chicken is easiest if if I'm cooking up my own chicken treats.
  12. Quinn treats gettng dirty like its part of her career so I'm saving the bath for tomorrow morning. Luckily dirt falls out of her coat pretty easily but she still puts in the effort.
  13. I was just goign to take kibble for her but in the past she has got the runs when on kibble too much so I think I'll play it safe and just have a couple of different things for her. I always pack like I'm going for a million years so this should be interesting.
  14. I beg to differ. Teebs and I went crazy when I saw her at christmas time the year before last.
  15. I need to buy and freeze the raw tomorrow and buy my notebook and then just pack everything up. More excited about this than I was about christmas!!!
  16. Buster is Buzzy Fuzzy Wuzzy Buzzy, Buzzwing or Buggins. Quinn is Quincy, Quinlay, Quindelin, Quinnegan, Quinno and Q-Dog. Both are Babe on occasion which gets really embarrassing when we're out but oh well.
  17. I'll be there. I was going to see how early I could get up and get Quinn out for an hour or two of good running. It'll be good for her to meet Raz, my only friend here that likes to take her dog on playdates with Quinn here has an English Bulldog and he can't really keep up. lol
  18. Lol, I'm sure I'll love her. I've got a soft spot for beagles but I don't think I have the patience to persevere. Quinn had her first day back at training on Sunday. Right in the middle of class, just as the Dog Reactive dog that is going soo well and improving so much is about the demo something, Quinn decides thats a good time to flip her tail up like a spitz, put all her bristles up that run all the way from the back of her head and bark her box off because another dogs bark echoed weirdly 50metres away. Completey setting off the DR dog and messing everything up. She also won't tug with me at class but will loose her shit at the dog next to us if he plays because she wants to join in. She's still quite shy with overly friendly dogs so it'll be nice for her to meet some dogs with responsible owners that I don't have to worry about, alsohugely excited about using the awesome dog prk.
  19. Quinn is part Sheltie. Thats the only way she got a blue eye. The weirdest thing was that that statement came from a woman I was talking to with her very own smooth BC. No one believes me that she's full BC either, I don't know what the hell they think she's mixed with.
  20. I'm glad Daisy can come now. I really, really wanna meet her. I need to start packing.
  21. When I charge the clicker I just click&treat 5 or 10 times so that they start to understand that click=treat. Then I start marking something they know or something simple (I started Quinn from day 1 with the clicker) and then move slowly onto shaping. I adore clicker training, I think its done wonders for both Buster and Quinn's confidence and its so cool having Quinn who I have taught to offer all sorts of behaviours just try anything when she thinks there is a chance she might get something. He rfavourite at the moment is to fling herself madly into a heel position. lol
  22. Its amazing how many times when I tell people I'm taking Quinn to training classes people say "I thought you were training her yourself?" And I had someone ask me if they could use Buster as a stud a couple of weeks ago. I was kinda shocked, I think he's beautiful but he's just another cattledog mix. They're words "We have a blue girl at home in heat and we want to breed her, is he desexed?" ... Ahh yeah, he's desexed, he's a mutt, he has a deformed tail, hip dysplasia and dog aggression. I don't even think he has much cattle dog in him and we don't have a clue what his background was before we found him. He's a lovely, lovely dog but the world doesn't need any more of him. Oh.. also Quinn is too skinny, why won't I breed her? Why I do I bother with training, teaching her sit, come, stay wil surely suffice. (I'm sure living with an 8 month old understimulated BC would be fun but its hady having a dog that can close doors for you and pick things up off the ground for you)
  23. Well Quinn did learn how to close the kicthen cupboard doors for me this week, and pick up things I drop on the floor and hand them to me (it helps seeing as I manage to drop my clicker nearly everytime we walk out the door) Its been too hot to do much else. Can't wait till next week!
  24. Just noticed Shine's face in this pic.
  25. Sorry to hear about Zeus. How lovely he got to do that beach trip before he went through. Great photos, as always. Trim and Shine are as stunning as ever.
