Dog Sleeping In Your Bed
greyhoundangel replied to joannakathleen's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I always had dogs sleeping on my bed, but then Steve came along and we realised that there just was not enough room (oh and we have a King bed too) Lucy however does get to sleep on our bed, mostly because she falls asleep and stays quiet for the whole night... Lucy is really good, she does not 'expect' to just sleep on the bed, and every night when we go to bed, she will wait patiently for me to either say yes or no... Generally we have Lucy in the bedroom, Tia and Stanley in the loungeroom and Chance and Johnny in the laundry Mel xx -
I thought it was a luxating patella. the Vet wasn't convinced and even wasn't sure about his hips although I said his hips were fine... Bronson was also not the 'normal' breed being a Staffordshire Bull Terrier x that weighs now just over 25kg - he's a leggy boy... Hopefully your dog is okay, but again it's best to get the all clear than let it keep going and then causing further damage that cannot be fixed... Good luck Mel xx

I do trust my vets but sometimes it's good for your own piece of mind... Mel xx

My vet said that it was fairly mild, I suggested getting the x-ray and am so glad that I did... Bronson never seemed to be in pain, he would go limp free for hours... Mel xx
-
Hey Dublin, we had a rescue with this, and he just had his surgery on Wednesday... I think it's best to get an x-ray because it can cause more problems for your dog later on, so it's good to know just how bad it is... The rescue dog we had was only 12 months old and was showing signs of early athritis... Mel xx

Typical they always want what isn't theirs I will ring them on Monday and get some prices, Bronson has eaten us out of house and home Mel xx

So what type do you feed Lola and Buddy? Mel xx

Oh Darien Time definitely 'never' makes it easier... Thinking of you... Mel xx

Jo, here is the Eagle Pack website: http://www.eaglepack.com.au/ The one in Canning Vale that I was thinking of is on Battersea Rd where our last kennels were, they also do pet transport too I am sure I think I will ring and get some prices, kibble is not lasting as long since Bronson has been here Mel xx

Don't tease Mel xx

I think I know the place Sharae Kennels? They sell heaps of different types of dog foods... I was told to check out Eagle Pack, thanks for that info... We can get chicken mince for a fraction cheaper, but it's frozen... Frames, umm we get a shopping bag full for around $2.50 (that's from Lenards) Mel xx

Because my dogs have a tendency to be underweight on lower energy foods - they simply will not eat enough of such foods to maintain weight. They will eat enough of the Maxi Energy tho! Have never had a problem with overweight dogs! Greyhounds can stack on weight so easily... What type of sighthounds do you have? Mel xx
-
I've tried it before, not long term though... That is very expensive, we pay $79 for 18kg of Iams, and then take off our 10% discount... Every 6 bag is free too Mel xx
-
Interesting...now what's your reasons for choosing and 'energy' kibble when the dogs are not in work... Mel xx
-
And it doesn't make them gain weight? I must admit my dogs are fairly lean, one has to stay lean... My mums greyhounds all get fat and they are the ones in work Mel xx
-
What was their exercise level like? Mine involves coming from the backyard to the couch Mel xx
-
We buy the 18kg bags of Iams at the moment...definitely works out cheaper I would be heading towards mature/senior as all my hounds are getting over the hill Mel xx
-
Don't think they will need the maximum energy, maybe years ago They are currently on Iams, don't really have a problem with it, but just feel that they could be doing better... Someone PM'd me about another type of food, so will look into that too Mel xx
