  1. Aghhh she's just precious Liz
  2. So scary for you Wendy Thank goodness Brianna is OK!!!
  3. That looks great Liz. Where did you get it? :)
  4. Wow that is the best news I bet you can't believe it :)
  5. I'm keeping mine! :D see "she's a keeper" thread! Yah! She's so gorgeous :)
  6. I know exactly how you feel Clyde But don't give up hope if he has gone wandering - he may just turn up out of the blue. That's what happened with one of our girls - 3 days later. Posters all over the area are well worth while. It's amazed me that we got calls from people in really out of the way areas that had sighted our girl. Even friendly dogs that normally love strangers can become terrified and not let people approach them when lost. Fingers and toes crossed that your Alvin is found or wanders home soon.
  7. Hope everything goes well this time Risyntra
  8. Of course your "average" BYB doesn't rehome frequently. They sell the whole litter!!! Only keeping a replacement breeding dog or bitch when required.
  9. Yes, very much agree with Ososwift! My Moo has her third and final litter on the ground (7.5 weeks) and she turns 8 years in a couple of weeks. Due to one thing or another like missed frozen AI's, etc it has just worked out this way for her, even though we would prefer to have our bitches finished with reproduction much earlier. Having said that, she had a full blood workup and vet exam before this mating and runs around the yard like a flea so I wasn't worried about her age in this instance. She hasn't had large litters and bounces back to show condition very quickly also
  10. I'm like OSoSwift will not be desexing my male after his experience with the Suprelorin implant! I am considering having my soon to be 8 year old bitch desexed next year after our Nationals which is every 3 years. Like others I worry about pyo. I am considering having ovariectomy instead of the ovariohysterectomy but need to look into this further. Sorry to go off topic but may I ask what it was that has made your each this conclusion please? Do you mean the regarding the Suprelorin implant? Bob had the 12 month implant which lasted around 20-22 months. He turned into a "old dog" to put it simply. He was quiet, lethargic, fat which less food didn't help! He suddenly developed dry eye and was drinking more water than normal. He was tested for various things but nothing abnormal showed up. Could be just coincidental but after the implant wore off and he returned to normal and his tear production is now fine. You wouldn't imagine lack of testosterone could cause some of these problems but I have no other explanation.
  11. Once past the brand new baby stage, I used partially frozen hot water bottles - 2 in the box and 2 in the freezer. I found towels too thick so I used pillow slips wrapped around twice. They would fight over them :D Fans are good, wet towels also.
  12. How distressing for you! I hope you find out quickly what the problem is
  13. I googled for updates and found that this poor boy had to be euthanised What a miserable life he must have led! Such a shame he didn't get to live out his remaining years loved and cared for. Least he's free from pain now which amongst other issues is why he was put down apparently.
  14. Apologies if this has been seen before as it is from August last year. One can only imagine what this poor dog has suffered. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3784528/Mould-English-Sheepdog.html
  15. Spot on ;) You know they also do this with beagles in the USA. Call them "pocket beagles" of course also "very rare". Very weedy, snipey little things with high set ears that have resulted from crossbreeding at some stage.
  16. Once mature our beagles only play with soft toys that squeak. Apart from the ball mad ones :D

  18. Bit late but congratulations Sheree How is the puppy? Hope he made it!!!
  19. Optimmune is what I used on one of mine when he had dry eye and yes it is expensive but much better than a cheaper product that I was told to use by a different vet. As Eliza Jane mentioned, you can usually reduce the frequency of apply the gel after a few months - from twice a day to once a day and so on.
