We are proud to announce that after a day long labor Keira FINALLY pushed out 4 gorgeous wee pups, 2 girls and 2 boys. Have just got back from vets, 1 of the wee girls isn't doing so well, so had to get instruction on tube feeding. Good pick, 1 light and 1 dark of each :) nicely balanced litter I thought :) so my sleepless nights are to continue, fingers Xed this wee girl makes it..

Well good news she DID eventually go into labor, 63 days from last mating..,. its now been 22 hours in first stage, have been vet checked and will be going in, in another 2 hours for c section as shes just not pushing.. She was scanned and pups heartbeats at the time were fine, they were coping ok, she was coping ok

gorgeous! love the markings :) will she still have the biggish patch as she grows or will that shrink?
-
No, dont know when she ovulated... I didnt do progesterone, just natural matings.

Maiden Pom bitch. First mating 16th march, so due date was 18th May Last mating 20th march, so due date from then is 22nd May. Ive never had a bitch go past by much(not this much) from her first date of mating. Temp has dropped .5 this morn, but is still within normal range.(its not exactly the warmest day here either) Shes still eating, pups still moving.. So real nesting, nothing to indicate labor is starting.... am i being over anxious and should *chill out*? she has a vet appt for weds in case nothing has happened then, or should i get her in this arvo?
-
bless! best of luck with the remaining pups, and RIP wee one who didnt make it. cant wait to see pics!

how are the whippets? any sign of them? we dont have anything going on here.... and yes it seems to be dragging on and on... today is her due date, how DARE she go over it! does she not know i have things to do on the weekend! the most weve had is a teeny bit of nesting.... she does like her box, covered, and a lil bit of digging, but thats it... 20 seconds later shes happy her nest is well designed..

My Other Bititch Got In With Puppies Not Belonging To Her
PomsNZ replied to mini girl's topic in Breeders Community
Ive kept my bitches away from the pups till they are a lil older, not for the fact that im worried bout the pups, more than im worried the mum will go apeshit at the wanna-be-mums. -
wow i LOVE the blue! what a stunning color! and love the white kids! go the spitz's
-
can someone post me a pic of a blue brindle whippet please? Only seen the fawns and brindles here in nz.. (I think)
-
whippet babies are just too cute! What colours are you expecting? This litter im having is a long time coming, last time I bred was over 2 years ago for myself. I have co-owned a litter since, and helped a freind whelp her dog, but this is my personal one for just over 2 years! Her belly is so big, cant feel them move yet, but by looking at her id be saying at least 3-4! Poms average litter size is 2. 2 weeks to go countdown :)
-
Can you add us please.. Pomeranian puppies due on the 18th May Maiden bitch but proven sire and her belly is SO big! 4-5 days ago i was sure she wasnt.. shes really er.. expanded a lot! I even mated another bitch as I was sure she wasnt. So now I can only hope the other done does take!

I had one girl temp norm at 8. 10.30 had dropped a bit, 12.30 was 36.3 or something,. at 2.30 was back to normal. If i had taken temps twice a day Id have missed it.

Baby Puppies In The Challenge Line Up
PomsNZ replied to Bullbreedlover's topic in General Dog Discussion
NZ dont work on points!!!!!!!!!!!!! we work on challenges You must have 8 challenge certificates (awarded to each best of breed) over the age of 6 months, and 1 must be after the dog has reached 1 year. Must be form at least 5 different judges. Babies dont get CCs, but in every other way they are equal. A lot of judges dont consider them in the line up, but they still get a run around. If a baby is a good example of the breed, its is judged equally along with the older dogs. I dont see a problem with that! You can have your 6 months old judged against a 6 year old, so what is the diff there? -
My poms do a very very good example of a short coated chihuahua when they have had babies.... One girl I was worried was turning into a chinese crested hairless, and she got pretty close, but no bare skin. (just) So sad to see them loose their beautiful coat, but it does grow back.. eventually.... I never agreed with *blowing their coat* i thought it was more of a nuclear holocaust survivor thing... They do look pretty darn sad...

Baby Puppies In The Challenge Line Up
PomsNZ replied to Bullbreedlover's topic in General Dog Discussion
I do think a baby should be in the line up. As for distance/speed its up to the exhibitors NOT to run up the backside of someone, you can run around them... Bigger dogs can take bigger circles, smaller dogs can take smaller circles... Babies love it, they have to be in line up when they go into puppy stakes so they have to learn anyways. I had a instance where we had a baby puppy that was awarded best dog over much older dogs, but he was a very good example. He won Rerserve of breed, then went onto win baby puppy in show. I love how the babies are given as much equality to the other dogs here in NZ -
WOHO murmar! knew youd get there thats jsut fantastic, what a great litter! gorgeous pics cant wait to hear and share of all our pups antics Any more novs had some pups?
