Thanks poppy's mum. They are not babies any more. They are nearly 18mths old, but you cant name race greys until they are 12mths so they have show names but not race names yet. Baby pics are here A couple of adult pics of Minni and Squirrel here and all the pups at 8mths old before they went to Vic here

Kirislin I am jealous. I would have loved to see him. I wanted to do natural mating and go to Vic but ran out of time and went for FS instead. I know someone else who has also met him and she said he is a really lovely dog. One day I will get there. His trainer was Graeme Jose, or at least that is who was stud master when I used him but I think he has since been moved

but Pav Im still waiting for your suggestions on these ones. I couldnt call poor Ellie U-G-L-Y

Ok everyone, I need some help with suggestions for naming my greyhound pups. First one is Squirrel. Bitch. Surf Lorian x Cheryl's Lass. The other 5 are Mantra Lad x Skadi - 2 dogs, 3 bitchs. Was going to put first choice in as their ANKC names but need 6 names for each pup so 30 names all together. Their show names are Dream in Colours (Hunter) , Man of Colours ( Cruz), True Colours ( Lulu), Colour My World ( Nina) Colour of Love ( Minni). Would like to keep a "Colour" theme with these ones. Any and all suggestions please. Limit is 16 characters including spaces Thanks in advance

http://greyhoundtom.proboards.com/ might be helpful too. There are closed topics with info and also you can post a question. From memory Tom is a vet but regardless has lots and lots of knowledge. May take him a couple of days to respond though

LOL you're as bad/mad as me

I see your problem. Certainly not an easy one to work out . Still might be worth getting a second opinion if you have that option. I use a vet, a muscle checker, a muscle manipulator and a chiro depending on what the injury/problem is. Thankfully I have options but have gone through a couple of people before I have found the ones I am happy with
-
Ok, guessing perhaps that it is an older injury or only a small tear rather than complete
-
Who is "he" ? Can you take your girl to a greyhound vet or muscle man ? They will have more idea than your normal vet. I work at a vet clinic and the vets are ok, but anything greyhound related I go to my local grey vet, muscle man or doggy chiro
-
How bad is the tear? Is it partial or complete. Has it totally dropped and fallen from its initial position ? My girl did both legs at once which is apparently very very rare.

You need to ice the injury initially and keep her on lead for 10-14 days to help healing. After that let her free run so the muscle doesnt tighten and massage (and ultrasound if you have access to one) will also help to break up any scar tissue.
-
Yes. My greyhound tore both at the same time. Its also known as dropped back muscle
-
Its happening at Box Hill Lodge on Terry Rd at Box Hill. Signs are out the front but there is no contact number. Doesnt look like its quite finished yet and I dont know the exact start date. I trial greyhounds on the same property and have been watching the progress over the last few weeks
-
Iggies can live on acreage quite happily and dont (or at least shouldnt) break while running on uneven ground and jumping over things. You do however need to have good fences as they will go off exploring or chasing things. You should never let your iggy off lead unless it has good recall
-
What sort of issues ? Im in Sydney

x2 We use Whal clippers at work and had this problem several times. Easily fixed under warranty
-
You cant buy direct from Troy. I got it direct from them through the vet I work at. Think it was $30 wholesale for a tiny container but I wanted to try it first. I just bought the 420g off ebay UK $90 including postage. The tiny container lasted about 10days doing 4 large dogs and 7 smalls

Does Anyone Here Do Mobile Dog Grooming?
shantiah replied to Esky the husky's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have done and still do both. Had my own salon then went mobile in a van not trailer when the building I was in was demolished and I couldnt find anything else suitable. I kept my really really good customers and got rid of the shit ones so it was still pretty good. Then I moved out of the area and after nearly 10 yrs spending 3+hrs travelling I gave up and got a salon based job 10mins from home suncontracted. I love the aircon and fact that you dont have to suffer in the heat or cold and rain but it comes at a price. I do heaps more work for half the pay and the area I am now in has many many poorly cared for and even worse behaved dogs. I still do some dogs mobile both local and in the old area one or two weekends a month or when I need some extra money. I am very lucky who I do and only do the nice dogs and owners. I have keys to their places so just txt them and rock up when I want so if the weather sux I dont go and they are fine with that but it takes years to get those sorts of customers. -
