  1. Thankyou all We are missing her terribly and yes, M&M the boys are very mournful :D
  2. Phoenix – Ionamal Luvs Speedyboots WTD 8th February 1999 – 31st October 2010 Yesterday marked the end of an era here at Idigadog. With heavy hearts we farewelled our last remaining Mallie – Phoenix. A grand old lady who made her presence felt not only in our lives but out on the trails as well. The matriarch in our yard, a friend to all our Siberian boys. Run free pretty girl. Wear your silver harness with pride. Until we meet again. We will always love you and never forget you. Andrew, Lisa, Caleb and the rest of the Idigadog kids. This photo of Phoenix was taken in August - Aged 11 1/2 years
  3. We often bait our dogs' water at races. Some of them will turn their noses up when they are given water with Recharge (Electrolyte) in it, so we add a little sardine oil and 9 times out of 10 they will lap up a whole bowl Have also used a few dry biscuits thrown into the water. Something that my guys really love, is the 4Legs meat balls http://www.4legs.com.au/products/all_natural.php. I just break a couple of them up and mix it into their water and they LOVE it!!
  4. Wow julzjc, what a crappy, crappy time you have had I'm over the moon for you right now and I can only imagine the weight that has been lifted off your shoulders Your whole family deserves a massive hug, especially Bonnie and Indie for making their mummy one very happy lady
  5. Just to tell you how strong a male dog's pee is - We have 9 entire males here. Yesterday I found a hole in the colourbond fence of our night yard where the boys all pee first thing in the morning. Yep, that's right, their pee is so toxic it has eroded the colourbond in just 4 years The colourbond is the best for snake-proofing but it's definately not boy-proof
  6. It's still really cold here of a night too but the snakes are definately out and about. My worst nightmare they are. We lost one of our young pups last year to a baby Tiger (he's the one on the left in my avatar) and nearly lost one of our yearlings to the same snake. A Brown almost claimed another yearling two months prior to that. Our vets said that it was the worst summer ever for snake bites and it seemed to be the babies doing most of the damage. We are vigilant, we don't let our dogs into the paddocks, we have snake proofed as much as we can but they seem to still get into our dog yards. I am truly dreading the next 7-8 months
  7. Is Deshonko supplying breeding those as well? I thought it was only Teacup Mallies so far? Man, I can't keep up but I better order me some of those too So many stocking fillers ;) What else you got Shonks?
  8. Awesome Deshonko!!! Can I order 6 please so that I can have a full team for next sledding season? They would be perfect for my 4 year old son to take out all by himself Not a problem. Its a hell of a lot easier to transport one of these teams to an event. On second thoughts, can I double that order so I can give one to some of my friends for Chrissy presents? Otherwise they'll all be jealous and we can't have that now I'm your friend, so do I get a breeding pair? Sure thing MP :D If we can get enough teacup Mallies maybe we can go into business together and provide them to all of the sledding community :D No doubt they will be all the rage next year and can you imagine people's faces when we turn up to a race with a whole team in harness? They will be spewing that they didn't think of it first What kennel name do you think we should have
  9. What if I just trade you 12 teacup Mallies for one of these? Surely you could shift a boot load of them with all your contacts Great dog, NEVER sheds, perfect bear like temperament and can prune all that pesky bamboo from your yard

  12. Check out this movie which is due to be released this month Alpha and Omega. The kids, and most of us adults, will love it
  13. I wonder if he rolls in dead things. From what I can gather he does pretty much everything they do, so it's very likely I think he is fascinating, I would love to know what he is actually trying to achieve though. That I've never been sure of. I have watched him put raw meat in his mouth and then feed the wolves by mimicking regurgitation. He wanted his girlfriend to do this too - wonder why she's not around any more And I think if we had smell-a-vision, he would be pretty rank. You only had to look at his greasy hair to make you cringe But hey, whatever floats your boat I guess and what I wouldn't give to spend a day in his shoes! I too can't wait for the next episode although I have to admit that I did sneak a peak on YouTube. Just watched the part of him taking some sleddogs out - naturally
  14. It's great footage. Might have to try and track down the whole episode from the History channel. I would love to see the whole episode
  15. Glad Donovan enjoyed it. We were really worried about the trails as they were completely trashed by storms and then idiots in their 4WD's the week before the race It's such a hectic weekend especially doing the distance race at the same time. I think most people were happy and if they weren't, oh well
  16. Yep, we sleep in the front of it. Also have awnings on it now and an annex on one side. Just like a caravan
  17. Well there were a few of them, one was ours! Not the 5th wheeler that was near the finish chute, that belongs to a musher from Vic. This one is ours
  18. Ah well you probably would have seen me running around like a headless chook We had teams in every class so it was very hectic between getting them organised, chasing a 4 year old and doing the timing!!!! :D You would have seen our trailer right near the toilet block. Big arse white mother of a thing with a heap of dogs wearing purple harnesses.
  19. Oh bummer! Did you get to see any of the racing or were you too late?
  20. For those interested in having a look at photos from the Canberra Sleddog Classic, go to Andrew Trousdell's site at http://jirrupin.smugmug.com/Sports and click on the links Some nice shots of the Idigadog kids throughout! SW - were you out there? You should have come and said hello!!

  22. Kuma, you are most welcome to come out to a training session with the Canberra Sled Dog Club whenever you feel like it. There used to be an Akita called Sam who was a regular out on the trails. I think he liked the socialisation more than anything Website addy is www.canberrasleddogclub.com.au or just send me a PM if you need more info. We train every Saturday at Kowen Forest until the weather gets too warm. Cheers, Lisa
  23. Depending on where you are in Sydney it would take you anything from 2 1/2-3 hours. That would be an awfully early start for you to make it to the race before 7am Sunday morning consists of the second heat and that will probably be all over by 10.30am. Then we all pack up and go home
