Cheapest Places To Buy Eukanuba (syd)
Gomez the Norfolk replied to NewPup's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Have you tried any of the super premium foods like Eagle Pack Holistic, Nutro or Natural Balance? Since your dog is not liking the Eukanuba anyway, you might as well upgrade the quality of his food and try something really good that is not so full of fillers and cereals and uses better quality ingredients... The Eagle Pack, for example has a fish formula, a duck formula, a chicken formula... they sell it at places like Moggy and Mutt in Northbridge Plaza or you can order it and have it delivered... -
Gomez Is Afraid Of The Kitchen...

It's good to see I'm not alone! We have had Gomez since he was 8 weeks old, so we have been lucky enough to have control over his environment - but who knows what has gotten to him lately - I hope yours will come about soon also! -

Mooper, he's never had an accident in the kitchen, and he better not be making a comment on my cooking, chef won't feed him anymore! Tonymc, he is 3 years old in a few weeks - Am I rewarding him for the fear behaviour now? -

I know, I'm stumped also... I do give him treats, and he'll come near the open oven even for just a bit of kibble, this guy will do anything for food! but then he slinks away again... He's so odd.... I wish I knew what is stressing him out so much in there... -
Gomez Is Afraid Of The Kitchen...

They do make loud noises, but they always have and he's never been afraid of noises before... fireworks, shotguns, banging pans, nothing used to faze him - he's still fine with fireworks, we had some tonight and he sat on the balcony with us... -
Not sure exactly what is going on, but for the past couple of months Gomez has been having and odd reaction to the kitchen in general, and especially the oven and the drawers underneath which hold the baking pans and pots, etc... Our living/kitchen area is completely open plan, so usually in the evenings we will sit on the sofas and he has his bed right next to us, sometimes he's on the sofa.... As soon as one of us goes to the kitchen area his ears perk up, if I turn on the oven or open the door to the oven, or one of the pan cabinets, he gets up and with his tail down, slinks off slowly to the bedroom and nestles into his crate (where he sleeps at night with the door open) If I'm just prepping food or cooking on the stovetop, he sometimes stands in the area with me, hoping for stuff to be dropped, but as soon as I even move towards the oven, off he goes... If I say "cookie" he will come back, take the treat and then goes again... Sometimes even if I'm emptying the dishwasher and putting stuff away he will also go and hide... Now, all the appliances in here are brand new, so nothing is amking a strange noise, and in London, his bed used to be right under the oven and he loved sleeping in there, as it was a big separate room and we were in there a lot of the time... Some of you have met Gomez and you know he is not a "shy" or "scaredy" dog, he is usually very self-assured and confident, it's just this kitchen has him spooked for some reason... Nothing has changed in the home or in his life - I don't know even where to start with this one, but I feel something is stressing him out and I need to do something about it... Any ideas?

Frothy Bile In The Morning...
Gomez the Norfolk replied to Gomez the Norfolk's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
By way of an update, the pukies have stopped - A couple of weeks ago he puked up a woodchip, and since then, no more! The vet had done some blood tests that showed low white blood cells, and then repeated them after the woodchip and he was back to normal... So, he's doing fine now all back to normal! Thanks for all the help! -
Dry Food (kibble) Poll
Gomez the Norfolk replied to colouroflies's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I voted Eagle Pack, but Gomez gets Eagle Pack Holistic - there is a difference, the holistic range has even better ingredients and does not use corn at all.... -
Poll Regarding Kibble.
Gomez the Norfolk replied to disorder's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Shadowmum, you can order EaglePack Holistic online, noy sure where you are, but for example, www.pookinuk.com.au sells it, lots of places online do - also places that carry higher end food and products will not only stock it, but also know about it - here, have a look at their website, you can read the ingredients there: http://www.eaglepack.com.au/ they also tell you where you can get it. Holistic means taht all the ingredients hae a provenance that can be accounted for and that the supplier knows exactly what goes into their food, for example, they know what specific chicken, where specifically the vegetables were grown, etc... also means there are no chemicals or unnecessary ingredients - With RC you can't ever be sure where the ingredients are coming from, plus they have a lot of chemicals and preservatives I would not be happy feeding my puppy... OH, and EP also make cat food, if you're interested in that -
He's so cute! I make Gomez wait also, thie evening he waited a full minute for dinner... poor guy!

Poll Regarding Kibble.
Gomez the Norfolk replied to disorder's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hey look at that, Sheridan! We agree on something!!! And thus the world ended! Which Ziwipeak does Gomez like? Ardee is very fond of the venison and greenlipped mussel. Oh he loves them all, he's a "guts" and if I bring out the treats hell do any trick in the book! -

Good topic! You missed a couple of the super premiums - Dick Van Patten Natural Balance and Innova -
Royal Canin & Advance
Gomez the Norfolk replied to AussieDog's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Have a look at this website and compare the ingredients from the label: http://www.dogfoodproject.com/ I think you will be surprised at how much stuff there is in the above brands that you do not want your dog eating. Compare all the labels from Eukanuba, Advance, Royal Canin and any other you like.... Then compare them to the ingredients of a super-premium food such as Eagle Pack, Nutro or Natural Balance.... -
I wouldn't be without it, really - we're with RSPCA and have made several claims with no problems whatsoever - 5 minutes to set it up and easy to download claim forms and send them in...

I can feel Gomez's chip, it migrated to his neck, just below his ear... he was chipped almost 3 years ago now - All vets have told me it's not a worry...

Is This A Grass Seed?
Gomez the Norfolk replied to Gomez the Norfolk's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Yes, he IS a silly pup... he loves to scavenge, as if the street were his own personal buffet... most of the time I catch him and he won't pick up stuff, but when he's off leash and playing.... He doesn't tend to eat grass, normally, maybe it's not gross or dangerous enough! -

Is This A Grass Seed?

We don't have a yard or a garden, I'll have to go look in the park downstairs if there is anything like it... Looks so painful.... -
As a follow up to this thread: puking frothy bile Gomez puked up this little barbed beauty along with some frothy bile this morning.... a) Is this a grass seed? b) Could this have been causing all his tummy problems in the past week? c) Looks painful and irritating, no? d) Could there may be more in there? e) Do I need to go back to the vet? So many questions, this never happened before...

Hills Science, Eukanuba Or Royal Canin?
Gomez the Norfolk replied to austen's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
austen, the ingredients are better and there are less fillers have a look at this website: http://www.dogfoodproject.com/index.php?page=badingredients read the labels on the food, compare and contrast ingredients and then you can decide what you want to feed your dogs. everyone will say something diferent because all the dogs are different - having said that, if you start with the best possible ingredients and formula, then you can go from there depending how your dog is doing. unfortunately, due to AQIS restrictions, there are very few super premium foods available here, so the choice is limited - but you can also feed raw or homecooked if you don't find anything else fits the needs of your dog. -
Depends what kind of food it is. If your dog is not doing well on (i.e. loose stools, upset tummy) it, change it quickly. If your dog is doing ok on it but you don't see results you want, wait about 6-8 weeks, it can take that long.

Hills Science, Eukanuba Or Royal Canin?
Gomez the Norfolk replied to austen's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Eagle Pack Holistic, Nutro, Natural Balance - all far better choices, available at some pet supplies stores or online for home delivery. The quality of the ingredients and their provenance is better. Do a search through these forums, there is a wealth of info. -
