  1. Then he can be the doggie in a bubble, give Travolta a run for his money!!
  2. Oh Kelly_Louise, giggle away, I can giggle now because he seems to be fine, but yesterday afternoon I wasn't giggling!! He's not one of the dogs that chews on things or eats remotes and cell phones, so the fact that he pulled out the bar of soap from the trash can while we were out was totally out of character! Now I'm giggling at the thought of Gomez walking down the street blowing bubbles from his tail! Miss Helena, to complete the picture he got groomed also, so he's really clean, inside and out!
  3. Oh yeah, style! Well, so far no bubbles or pukies, just a few mostly whole pieces of the soap in his poo today, good thing he doesn't chew his food or stuff, just chomps and swallows! ay ay ay... I think they know we get so worried and they do it on purpose!!
  4. He loved you before we got to park! But squirrels trump everything, even food!
  5. Thanks all, he has been running around all afternoon and so far no ill effects - I keep waiting to see him bubbling away... He even had the energy to stalk a squirrel today, and as Sezy has seen, that takes a lot of concentration!!! I'm glad to see he is not the only one with an appetite for soap :D
  6. This morning we came back from breakfast to find that Gomez had eaten a piece of a bar of soap, deodorant and moisturizing, nonetheless :D Furthermore, his water dish was almost empty I spoke to the vet and poison control and both said keep an eye on him, may be some bubbly vomiting or runny poos... He's running around like a loony and being normal, so for now, all is well... Surely some other dog has eaten a bar of soap before?
  7. Lemon and Oregano BBQ Chicken Legs Roast Fennel Stuffed Pork Loin, Grilled Herbed Chicken, Rocket and Parmesan Salad, Grilled Asparagus with Roasted Yellow Peppers Pavlova
  8. WOW, I'm looking at it now, except I have it upside down! The 1/2 moon above and Jupiter and venus below it... Opposite hemisphere!
  9. Macro also sells it - it's great food, but Gomez did not do well on it, very pasty poos... As with any change of food, introduce the new food gradually, and with the super-premiums, start off feeding a little less than what the bag states...
  10. Hi Madge, You certainly could do it a month ahead, however, consider that pooch might get a bit lonely and could benefit from a few visits in quarantine from you, unless you can arrange for a friend/family to visit... When we shipped from US to UK we used a US based transport company - Dogtainers is based in Oz. You want an agent based in the country you are shipping from.
  11. Hi Madge, definitely possible - when we left London for Melbourne we shipped Gomez a week ahead, he was collected by quarantine and then held there for 30 days - You would not be allowed to collect him at the airport in Oz anyway, AQIS does it all.. Look for a pet transport company, I don't know any in Canada, but a Google search will reveal all - The transport company will also be able to help you with the reams of paperwork required, plus advise you on what vaccines to give and which not to give, etc... They will be able to reserve your spot in quarantine, etc... There is a pinned topic on this board about flying your dog and what to do and what not to do... When we left Sydney a few weeks ago for the US we flew on the same flight with Gomez, but even so, a pet transport company collected him from us the day before and placed him on the plane - no quarantine on this end, so we had to fly together to collect him here. We used Dogtainers from Sydney to New York, if you can't find anything, maybe contact them and see who they suggest you use form Canad to Oz.
  12. june and novas, it took a good groomer 4 hours to complete - I don't know how to do it... his breeder in the UK used to do it in 2 hours
  13. Becks, he loves it when he's in his skivvies! Of course, going back to NY winter he'll have to keep his coat on for a while!
  14. if you switch to a higher quality food you will feed less and the cost will even out - Euk is full of low quality fillers and cereals have a look at this website also: www.dogfoodproject.com
  15. On the prospect of getting more pics, I'll advance a piece of advice... Gomez turned out to be lactose intolerant (go figure) so when I gave him yogurt regularly, he had runny poos... just keep an eye on it, apparnetly it's quite common...
  16. Here is Gomez before and after: Tatelina you're not actually yankingout the hair, it comes out very easily, doesn't hurt... Ruthless, I'm not sure staffies need stripping! It's for double coated breeds with wirey hair...
  17. So long Angus, we will miss you
  18. I stop when it looks like Gomez has had enough - I could keep going for hours if I waited to run out of undercoat!
  19. Erny, Puppy is gorgeous! Congrats and more pictures please!!
  20. Is it possible that you are feeding too much Orijen? You should feed her a lot less Orijen than the less premium foods such as Nutro - the amounts on the bag are guidelines, and maybe try adjusting a little bit less AND also spread it out between two meals a day, morning and night...
  21. Boiled chicken mince (human stuff) might have less fat...
  22. how about boiled chicken or turkey mince? Low fat and "wet" and you know exactly what's going into it...
  23. Brad, you did great! He's so happy and lighter! Looks great.. Missymoo, a lady I know in the Caribbean that has Norfoks and Cairns tells me she keep them stripped to their "skivvies" year round so they're not too hot!
  24. no, no pj's, he's still got one little fur coat left...
