  1. Have you been to the vet for a check-up? It could very well be the diet. Maybe he is allergic or intolerant to something in the new food? It can take up to 6 weeks to see the effects of a new food, at the same time, it can take a while to get over the effects of a new food... What are you feeding him now?
  2. scottie, I think we will be joining you in a few weeks time when we get to Sydney - weekdays are better for us also, and I want to get Gomez doing fun stuff! please post when you have gone and tell me how it goes!
  3. How are they doing Ruffles? Are they speaking Italian yet?
  4. I bought 2 Furminators from them - they were delivered in 2 days, excellent service and good prices.
  5. If he was doing well on the Eagle Pack, go back to that, get it delivered if you can't find it near you, there is a thread going on now about who delivers it...
  6. stormie, did you see this thread on DOL a few weeks ago? it's videos of an American holistic vet descrbing what goes into pet food - there is also a link to his website: http://forums.dogzonline.com.au/index.php?showtopic=99951
  7. Try this article: http://leda.law.harvard.edu/leda/data/784/Patrick06.html It comes out of Harvard, it's very long but there is a lot of info and references in it -
  8. Well, I emailed Natura Pet Products, makers of Innova, and while they did not address the sale of their products at Pet's Paradise, they did send me a list of alternate retailers that sell their products as follows: Global Pet Products 24-26 Wedgewood Road Hallam, VIC, VIC 011-03-796-4555 Pet Goods Direct Shop BG012 Stockland Forster, Breese Parade Forster, NSW 2428 Pet Goods Direct/Tenancy 4 274 Maroondah Highway Chirnside, VIC 03 03 9727 4933 Apparently they should also be able to order any specific [roducts made by Natura Pet if they don't have them in stock... I do not know anything about these stores, nor do I know what they stock. Anyone else? Hope this helps....
  9. goldielover, you are rigt, 24% protein or so for regular Innova, it's the "Innova EVO" that is the super high protein and grain free that I was mentioning above... Off to write an email!
  10. In my opinion, Innova is a great food, but you have to make sure your puppy can handle the high levels of protein, so as long as there is a clean bill of health, esp the kidneys, and you watch carefully for any signs of problems, you are oding well. It is a shame about it being sold at PP, but m aybe an email to the company might help?
  11. I see... so all Amish are bad.... interesting! Is that sort of like saying all Jews keep Kosher? Your words and your interpretation not mine. Curlyking, my point is, if you're so concerned about puppymillers growing vegetables for Eagle Pack, you should find out if the ones that grow are the same ones that mill, if you see what I mean...
  12. I have no idea whether they are old or new order but I do know the Amish in Pennsylvania both grow the food for EP and have puppy farms I see... so all Amish are bad.... interesting! Is that sort of like saying all Jews keep Kosher?
  13. I have Gomez on EP Holistic and his coat and skin are very good - he's not a shiny coated breed, but it is very lustrous, if you know what I mean, and isn't scratching at all, not that he had any big problems before that... You can keep him on the EPH even after his mange has gone, it's a very whole food
  14. No... but I also don't eat poo, sticks, grass, dirt, bugs, raw chicken, chew on filthy tennis balls, or sniff my friend's butts!!
  15. Burns is great food, have you managed to find it in Australia?
  16. This may well be but they are grown by the Amish community who are very big puppy farmers in the USA Is this the Amish in Pennsylvania, or the Amish in Ohio you are referring to? The Canadian Amish? There are some Amish in South America too... And which order specifically, the Old Order Amish? The New Order Amish? The Beachy Amish? Which ones are growing the food and which ones the puppies?
  17. Theres nothing wrong with chewing slowly! We do all kinds of things to get Gomez not to inhale is food, sometimes he can go through a whole bowl and I won't hear a single "crunch"!
  18. Ashka, totally agree with you, to a point... While I will not buy any of the formulations of the brands that have been recalled, I continue to trust Eagle Pack Holistic, they have their own plants and use top quality ingredients - The brands you have listed above are not know for being the best amongst the dry foods anyway... There are many discussions regarding the recalls in the forums if you do a search you will find many threads with lots of good information.
  19. EP Holistic has some single protein formulas, such as the Anchovy, which will help - What are you feeding her now? Do you know what she is allergic to? Hills is not really a great choice anyway, lots of fillers and grains... Gomez is also doing very well on his EPH, he just started a bag of the duck after polishing off a bag of the anchovy.
  20. Eagle Pack Holistic for little Gomez - he loves all the formulations, rigt now he's on the duck one. He also gets some Ziwipeak canned on top of his kibble sometimes...
  21. Gomez weighs 7.5 kilos and he gets fed twice a day, each time he gets 40 grams of Eagle Pack Holistic with a bit of tinned Ziwipeak on top. He's very active when he's out, but "rests" a lot at home!
  22. Exactly what Kristie said, start as you mean to go on, - the Eagle Pack Holistic chicken is suitable for puppies - The only thing I will add is that Gomez could not tolerate yogurt as a puppy, he got the runs...
  23. Fair enough, but if for whatever reason you cannot or do not want to do add-ins or extras, you can give your dog the benefit of the most complete and whole food you can get for them...
