  1. heres another normal size, but a bit dark..
  2. Can I be super annoying and ask for this pic to be included, possibly in the middle? This is me and my partner.. oh and for it not to have the text "mr snotty pants" but ..."Snot Dog"? lol sorry, my indecisiveness is going to kill me one day.. Big size? Hmmmm we have just got a new computer and the originals are still on the old one... These are off my photobucket and I must have changed the size at some stage. I don't think you can change them back to original size from there can you? Arghhh now i'm not sure if i want that photo in there either... Okay, I'm just going to leave it with you guys... Do what you think will work, include this is it will look good, if not don't
  3. Hey guys.. I was wondering if some lovely and computer literate person would like to make me a fanciful signature..? I have been admiring your work from afar and really want to learn photo shop myself....BUT. I did try and make my own and, well...alas. it was shite to be honest. I even had trouble putting a picture next to another picture let alone doing anything cool with it. Now, I have picked quite a few photos, I couldn't pick just a couple, cause he's just too darn cute in all of these!!!! If someone would like to attempt and make me a Sig I will be eternally grateful I don't expect all of them to be in it, just the ones that go best... with maybe a little green? And the text...... "mr snotty pants" lol Oh and if anybody wanted to play around with any, feel free I would love to see what you can come up with
  4. Thanks joypod. Turns out my OH needs the car tomorrow so I am going to have to ring up and change the booking. Prob friday now. But will deff put an update once Iv'e been.

    Puppy Spots

We used a product called Urine Off, it was around $20somethingish dollars. But worked really well for us.
  6. Hmmm when Snot was a puppy he used to get a few spots on the inside of his legs which looked a lot like the one on your dog. The vet said they were puppy pimples and apparently really commen... We sometimes popped them, or left them and they went away fine. .
  7. Yeah, Thats what it does kind of look like in the photos... but there is an actuall lump that isn't his .."actual" lump. .. I dunno.... is it worth a vet visit? It doesn't bothar him.... Or am I just being paranoid. Last two times I have taken him for different things they haven't precribed anything... Vet consult fees aren't my favorite thing to pay if they aren't necessary...
  8. For the last month or so I have noticed that one of my dogs testicles is a lot pinker than the other.... I didn't think too much of it until now.. Last night I noticed a slight abnormal bump on his testicle that isn't very noticeable apart from the pinkness. But in the light you can see where a small lump is raised on the end of it.. And today it looks different again... So I have him booked into the vet on Thursday... I took some photo's to see what you guys think (violating him in the process, poor dog) . Should I be worried?....
  9. Thanks for the replys. I personally don't really agree with crating dogs all day either. Like I said it is 4 hours at the most maybe one day a week. I have never actually heard of crate trainging until I joined DOL. The reason we crate him if we go out now (never used to carte him) Is we don't like leaving him outside for a few reasons, the fact he would damage our rental property outside ( he is an angel when we are home, but not alone), and because of his breed we are paranoid he would get stolen, although we have good fencing we don't live in the best neighborhood. When we are going to be gone for a longer time period, we dog proof the lounge area and put paper down for him, which is ..okay I guess, he goes on the paper, but usually finds something to chew that he is not supposed to. And it is also annoying to dog proof the house every single time we popped out for a while...
  10. Yeah.. I thought he would generally be okay without water in the cool of the house for an hour or so.. . He doesn't get crated at night and sleeps in our room.. he doesn't mind the crate, and we only use it last resort and gets run of the house/yard when someones home, which is most of the time except monday-thursday for a few hours each day.
  11. Hello, I have a few questions about crates, I have done a search but can't find the particular answers I'm looking for.. Question one: How long is it fair to crate your dog for at one time? At the moment, Snot is 7 months old and only gets crated during the day while my partner is at Uni, generally Mon-Thursday although it varies a lot as sometimes he will be gone for 1-2- or 3 hours but will come home at lunch for a bit and let him out and then back to Uni for another hour or so.. Some days it's only an hour and at the most it is 4 hours. Personally i don't like the thought of him being in there for longer than 4 hours and was just wondering what is acceptable. Also, what's the deal with food and water? I feed him in the morning and when I get home from work. Generally we leave him with some dog chews if he is going to be in his crate and lots of toys etc But don't have his water bowl in the crate..... is that okay? With summer coming up I'm being super paranoid that he is going to overheat and die... because he is a short nose breed he has trouble breathing as it is I'm worried about keeping him in a crate.. we have air con, so I'm thinking I'll set it on a timer when we are not home. Do you give your dog's access to water when you crate them? is there some kind of attachment you can buy so they don't spill/sit in etc.. Am I doing it right?!
  12. LOL we call it "gleet" for some unknown reason
  13. Wow your dog is really pretty What breed is she?
  14. We use a product called "urine off" I'm pretty sure most pet places stock it. It can even be used under a black light to find spots you may have missed.
  15. Snot had one of these! It did sound a little different to the one you decribed though, there is a thread here somewhere as I was just as worried as you were when I discovered it! True to the vets word, a few weeks later it did go away. Although the area where it was is still a little bit hairless and pink. but no lump. Glad it wasn't serious.
  16. Sorry...I don't have any advise But I met a bulldog about a month ago (bubbles), and it's owner was telling us how she would just stop and sit down and refuse to move when she took it on walks, or was about to take it for a walk.. She put it down to being incredibly lazy..? Maybe it's a bulldog thing?
  17. We have a big concrete courtyard, and all I use is a little bit of dish washing liquid in a bucket, foams up really well and I give it a good scrub with a wire broom.. BUT, I just saw the link poodlefan left, me thinks I'll give that a go as well.
  18. My puppy also used to bite and nip at hands and anything else he can grab hold of when he was in one of his "moods". My partner and I used a really simple method that seems to work for us. When he got over excited and started biting we would yell "Ah Ah!!" and put both our palms up in front of him. He usually stoped biting straight away and then we would reinforce it by giving him a toy and ignore him for a bit until he calmed down and forgot that he wanted to bite and grab at our hands. Hope this helps!
  19. Maybe your pup hasn't come out of her shell yet? The first few days we had our pup at home he was a little angel and quite reserved for a puppy, didn't chew anything he wasn't supposed to, was happy just to sit at our feet where ever we went and play by himself and not get into any mischief etc. But once it hit about a week he came out of his shell completely! And we met a different puppy! Crazy/Hyper, wanting to play with other dogs constantly, chewing everything he wasn't supposed to, and generally just being a stereo typical naughty but very cute little pup. Maybe she is just getting used to her new environment and is taking a few days to settle?
  20. A trick I some times use if pup isnt eating his dry food, is tip a little bit of milk over the top (with them watching you do it) I know human milk isn't the best for dogs, but im sure puppy milk would do the trick as well, or goats.
  21. That's a good one actually... The trainers dog can sneeze on cue!! She will say "muffin, A-Choo!" and he forces a little sneeze out. So cute.
  22. Well, I have been taking my 6 month old French Bulldog to dog training for the last month or so and he is going really well.. Last 2 weeks we have been asked to teach them a trick.. Snot's a pretty stubborn little dog. And she was showing us an easy way to teach them to shake hands and we all had a go at doing that for a while. WELL, everytime I tried to grab his paw and treat him he would attack my hand or flop to the ground and go a bit crazy if I went any where near his paw... So the following week ALL the other dogs could do this.. .. except little Snotty.. Next week is our final night before we move onto the next level, so I spent a good 20 minutes with him last night trying to teach him tricks ( I must admit I hadn't spent much time at home teaching him shake) And he picked it up in about 10 minutes!! I didn't realise how easy it was, and then I taught him to roll over! Not just over, but right over in a full turn.. Aww I felt so proud, now that Iv'e realised how fast he actually picks things up I can't wait to teach him more tricks and show off his doggie skillz next week at training  What can I teach him next, any ideas? He has all the basics down, sit, stay, down etc.. .
  23. This has happened to our pup too. Exactly as you decribed, like a cat trying to cough up a furball! Although it's not generally when he's eating it can just be random, and not often, maybe about 6 times all up in the time we have had him? And it generally only lasts for about 30 seconds, if that.... After he does it he is 100% fine, although it's horrible to watch as he is in a lot of discomfort when it happens.. He has done it once in the last week or so, once it woke him up from sleeping.. I didn't realise it could be something really serious?... If it's even the same thing.. How often does it happen to your dog? Let me know how it goes at the vet if you take him?
  24. Im not sure about the size of scab on your pup, but when I first got my puppy I noticed a few pimple like scabs under his armpit and also by his back legs. Got them checked out at the vet when he had his shots and turned out they were just puppy pimples and apparently quite commen? He hasn't had any for months now though.
  25. Thanks for more replies. :p It may have come across in the post that I went to the vet and he had a quick glance and sent me on my merry way with a discounted consult fee.. We were actually in there for a good 10/15 minutes and discussed the lump in detail. Because of his age he said he was less concerned. With older dogs he was explaining he takes more precautions I guess with the needle biopsy that everyone has mentioned here. He even pulled out a big encyclopedia and pointed out what the tumor was. The lump was exactly like the index picture showed. Apparently they disappear within 6 weeks, and he has had it for around 4-5 weeks time and it's already disappearing. Thanks for your concern though Obviously if it didn't go away or got bigger etc I would be taking him back straight away for a second opinion, and to get the tests done that you have all mentioned. The vet I am seeing is really nice and I feel comfortable with him and his diagnosis. He was also recommended to me by a friend who has taken her dogs there for many years. Thanks again guys!
