Thanks for the replies. I ended up taking him to dinner with me, and he has been fine, playing with my brother all night and ate some leftovers after dinner. I text OH a pix of the phone case, and apparently it was already broken off...so it may not have been the case he ate (or not as big a chunk as I once thought) So I really have no idea what he has swallowed, but it was definitely something. I will be watching him closely over the next few days, but for the moment he is fine. So hopefully he stays that way!

I was on the computer just now and I heard Snot rolling around on the bed in my room. I got up to see what he was doing in there, and he was obviously doing something naughty because when he heard me coming he quickly jumped off the bed and ran passed me. I told him to stop, he turned around and I saw he had something in his mouth. I went to grab him and whatever it was he quickly gulped it down Straight after this happened, he did a big choke for a bit and then hacked a few times and was licking his lips. Ahhhhhh. I go into the bedroom to investigate what it was he has just now swallowed. And I find a hard plastic phone casing, with a considerable chunk missing from it... i guess about the size of two 50cent pieces? I don't know what to do now? He is acting normal. But he has definitely swallowed it. Will this pass through okay, or are we in for some serious trouble...? I'm just about to go to my brothers house for a roast :D Do I need to stay home and keep an eye on him? What do I do?

It wasn't a cockroach, it was a christmas beetle, is that what they are called? ewww I don't let him play with cockroachs I have to kiss that face ya know!

Wow, sounds exactly what Snot had 2 weeks ago! He started vomiting about 4 in the morning, then all that day (Sunday) and I'm talking about every half an hour! He would drink and eat a little bit if I hand fed him but vomit it up 5 minutes later, wasn't TOO larthargic and was still following me around everywhere and going straight to sleep at my feet. Normal stools.. He vomited quite a few times through the night, I took him to the vet Monday arvo, on Monday he was still vomiting, probably about 4 times before i went to the vet and he stopped eating and drinking completely. The vet couldn't find anything really worng with him, checked for an obstruction, checked his stools, temp - all normal. By this time he had perked up a bit ( looked like a total faker) The vet gave him an anti vomiting injection and some follow up anti vomiting pills and that was that, said if he didn't improve by morning bring him back in for more tests, x-rays etc.. He ate that night without vomiting and was fine after that I still have absolutely no idea what was wrong with him.. Pretty scary stuff though. Good luck with your boy.

I believe it's called "goose honking" Have a read of this thread, it's sounds as if you might need to take him back to the vet and get his throat checked out. I feed my Frenchie Eagle Pack Holistic, pet mince, sometimes I add a little bit of tinned dog food. On the odd occasion chicken necks but I have to cut them up into 3-4 pieces cause he can't chew them whole. Leftovers if we have something healthy - rice, vegies, pasta etc.

I could definitely own one. So unusual looking. I'm not the biggest fan on Rhodesian Ridgebacks but something about the Thai ridgebacks draw me in. I especially love the blue/grey looking ones

Yeah, I wont be buying it again. As I said, I only buy a can every second week or so.. I sometimes bought him the Advance canned food but it's really expensive. I wouldn't mind switching him to BARF.. need to do more research as it all seems really confusing to me..

Okay, so i feed Snot Eagle Pack Holistic, makes up 90% of his diet. But i like to mix it up a bit and feed him pet mince and chicken necks a few times a week for variety, sometimes a bit of wet dog food with his dry. So I bought him a tin of dog food today from the supermarket. Usually i will grab him a tin of Natures Gift as I have read on this forum that it's one of the better ones to buy from there, personally I find it pretty gross, it smells funny and the texture doesn't look right, dog gets smelly farts etc. So this time round i bought a tin of "My Dog" Chicken, Veal pasta and vegetables. When I emptied some on the contents into Snot's bowl tonight It looked and smelt, well.... delicious So I started reading the ingredients: meat including, chicken, beef, lamb, pork and veal, vegetables, pasta, gluten, gelling agents, vegetable oil, cereal, beef by product, vegetable fibre, vitamins and minerals, colours, flavors, salt. no preservatives added That's exactly how it reads on the label.. So is this a quality tined food? Or is it just the same as all supermarket dog food and still crap? I was just curious as this dog food looks exactly like human quality food.. Thoughts?
