With a dog called Snot I'd hardly be normal
-
Aww I just saw this, you did Snotty YAY! I find him really easy to draw too But hairy dogs are so much harder and you have done fantastic with Zeros portrait! Looks great!
-
I like this one of me and puppy Snot. I didn't take many pictures of him when he was a pup (I don't know why?...) so the ones I do have I really cherish.

Turns out I have no idea how to work the settings on my camera to have a go at painting with light. But I quite liked this one. I took last night just by using the light of the heater....

Al of these photos are so cool. I'm going to have a go at it I think. Reading through this entire thread gets me all motivated like'

Thanks for the replys. I'm not back at work until Monday, so I'll see how he is and if there no change I'll get in touch with the owners.

Ahhh thanks for that. It's actually a dog at my work, and when I said he was wormed- I only gave him worming tablets 2 days ago. How long do worming tablets generally take to kick in? There was no change today.

Hi, I was wondering if somebody could please tell me what would cause a regular occurrence of blood in a dogs stool? Just a very small amount, but nearly every day, and almost always sloppy. The dog is young, healthy, wormed and fed a preservative free diet and doesn't show any signs of being sick. Could it be a stress thing? Anal glands maybe? Or does it have the potential to be something more sinister?

welcome to use mine too.

Diy Hydrobath On The Gold Coast?
disorder replied to Heidii's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hi, I have used one at Petstock in Ashmore. (Ashmore road I think) I think was $1 per minute, you can use your own shampoo or use theirs in a wash cycle. I used my own shampoo which had to be left on for 10 minutes, but only used the rince cycle on their hydrobath so it only ended up costing $3 all up -
It definitely doesn't seem as red or itchy today, I went to the chemist and bought some telfast this morning. I gave him almost half a tab about 11'oclock, so hopefully that will keep the itching at bay. At the moment he is happily munching on a bone outside..

Thanks for that puggy puggy. Erny- Def not hotspots, they aren't "festy" at all. I gave him a coal tar bath today, and applied some zinc to the affected areas, I think it's actually gotten worse since yesterday Unless the bath just aggravated it a little? I also found a tiny sore between his toes, and upon looking between the toes on his other feet I have noticed they are also looking quite red. I'm going to buy some antihistamines tomorrow, can somebody please recommend me a brand and what dosage to use for a 11.5kg Frenchie? Erny, I'll try and take a picture of his underside tomorrow. I wonder if it's the same type of thing as your boy.

hey, Has anybdy else dog had something similar to this? Snot has redness on his underbelly and armpits as well as little bites/pimples? He suffers from a slight low grade allergy which comes and goes, he has been to the vet in the past for his allergy getting antibiotics for it once. But this time round it's not the same kind of irritation at all.. He never scratched at his allergy rash or looked uncomfortable, but with this new rash- pimples/bites he is very obviously uncomfortable I bathed him in meleseb last week before I noticed these little bites, and last night and tonight I used a very very diluted dettol solution to softly wipe and clean under his belly, legs/armpits and the underside of his chin. I have also applied a little bit of bepanthan directly onto the bite/pimples themselves. My question though, is there a specific product I can use to help him, clean him? I'm 99.9 percent sure it's not fleas, as well as being treated the same time every month I'm a bit pedantic about fleas and check him thoroughly, and regularly. I also have my suspicions it may be caused by taking him to work each day? I work at a boarding kennel and he gets really dirty some days, being an un-desexed male he has the tendency to be quite disgusting and has no qualms about sticking his face in another dogs wee etc As well as running around on grass and dirt that heaps of other dogs use daily. Could that be a possibility? It would explain the ones on his chin? But then I'm also concerned because they look like actual bites, like maybe from a flea, ant or mozzy? I have found two tiny little scabs on his body, but otherwise it is completely on his underside- armpits/legs/ thighs and a few on his belly... Hes not a happy camper Could it be an allergys? I was also thinking about trying a human antihistamine before taking him to the vet if it doesn't improve. Sorry...that was longer than I meant to to be.... just thinking out loud really.

This thread is fully sick ah.

I use this one, which has Omega 3, 6 and 9. it comes in a 200ml pump pack and also a liter bottle. ($10 & $40) I shopped around quite a bit and found this was the cheaper alternative to supplying your dog with all of the appropriate oils. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...em=160306616845 It must tastes okay too, I just squirt it onto his food each day with no problems. If you look at the link I posted, view the sellers other items because he also has some of the cheapest flea/worming products I have found online.

I have a stinky boy dog! He has been since he was a puppy.. I have to give him a bath weekly to fortnightly to keep his stinky boy smell under control. It's probably not necessary to bath your dog that much but ours sleeps in our bed so anything less is a bit gross and I hate it when hes stinky and not clean. Yeah... ours pees on himself, he really is quite disgusting. He will pee on his feet on a regular basis, then he will come inside and slurp his little feeties until hes satisfied they are clean from his urine! I suppose I should be thankful that he at least tries to keep himself clean Not to mention the little "gleet" stains he leaves on his white fur from his willy Next dog= Girl dog

Recommended Vet On The Gold Coast?
disorder replied to Heidii's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I use Labrador Veterinary Surgery (have been using them for 2 years now and they were originally recommended to me thru a friend who has been going for years before me ) The vet I see is "Dr Chris Van Der Walle" He is a really nice man, very knowledgeable and explains everything thoroughly, while treating your animal with care. The number is: 5591 2255, the surgery is on the Cr Musgrave Ave in Labrador? Make sure you see him (if you decide to use them) I saw a woman the other week who was filling in for Chris while he was on holidays and she was bloody awful -
Hi Brendan, I don't have any advise sorry, but try posting your question in the British Bulldog thread as well: http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...p;#entry3341940

Any Thoughts On Using Pinetarsol To Wash Itch Dog ?
disorder replied to chepet's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Snot has skin issues at the moment as well, he is currently on a course of antibiotics for it... I have been using the Meleseb washes and spot washes for the past 3 weeks (minus this last week) I have found it hasn't helped (with him) If anything it got a bit worse The vet said his skin looked a bit dry, so I am just waiting for this to arrive: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Value-Plus-Omega-3-...1742.m153.l1262 It saves fussing about with individual supplements, and has all of the oils needed. -
Oh no! Poor little fella. Crossing my fingers for a speedy recovery x

:D

Hows Floyd? Did you find out what they were from?
-
Hmmm I reckon it's puppy pimples too! Snot got lots of puppy pimples around the same age (as diagnosed by vet) in the exact same spots. They go away eventually, some of them got white heads and we squeezed and put cream on - gross, I know. But otherwise, just try to keep the area clean, maybe wipe with a really weak disinfectant once a day.

Work experience isn't going to pay the bills, although it would be fun if I had another source of income... (or someone to support me! ) I'm pretty desperate, looks like I may have to bite the bullet and get a shitty non animal job.... I have emailed another 5 places today with my resume, but I'm not feeling very positive at the moment.... about anything
