Glad to hear it was not anything serious! Good on you for acting quickly and taking her to the vet
-
You need to take her to the vet immediately. She could be dead by tomorrow if she isn't treated
-

7.30 Report Abc To Do Expose On Dd Puppy Farms
~JessyBee~ replied to lappiemum's topic in General Dog Discussion
That is a great idea Stormie That was my first thought too - for us who know what a hideous 'industry' it is it does not surprise, but for all those who thought those fluffy puppies come from the land of sunshine and roses - I hope it was a shock. I wish it was better, but i also think it is better than not having the issue out ther at all. Steve Austin he missed the big issue didn't he? -
I agree with Rebanne, they will be fine don't feel bad, there are worse things you could do!
-
Kirsten can you please PM me the website (I can probably guess) I promise not to write an email until i have calmed down. Off to walk my doggies now *breathe*

How disgusting : these people and their stupidity and the fact that they LIE so easily makes me sick. I am actually really mad about this. What hope do we have of ensuring the future of pet ownership when such stupid, irresponsible people are breeding? So angry.

Couple Using Halti's On Thier 2 Malamutes
~JessyBee~ replied to skip's topic in General Dog Discussion
Huski mine are the same - particularly with OH because they know he will give up! For me they are (nearly) perfect! goldengirl85 I would be walking your baby and the older dog seperatley until you have both under control and walking nicely on lead. What methods are you using whilst she has the halti on? Food is great of course to entice her back into the position you want her and verbal praise and treat when she has stayed there for a few steps, gradually longer and longer between praise. I still tell Beau he is a good boy when he is walking. Its very confusing now reading threads where people just say goldengirl or GG - that's me -

Daisy is just too smart for her own good Huski! My little ones are the worst! Mind you I think the littlies tend to get away with more than big dogs do! -

Nope I can't stand dogs who have no lead manners even just when visiting the clinic! (also dogs who almost take your fingers off getting a treat!) Each to their own I guess. I would prefer to know anyone could walk my dogs on any lead if needed -

I must agree with Huski and LC, goldengirl85 (nice name by the way lol) I think you would be much better off taking the time to teach your little one how to walk nicely on a flat collar, you are right, she will soon be a big strong dog and will want to chase birds and bunnies i have always walked Beau on a flat collar and he has perfect walking manners even with fantastic distractions like bunnies! I am almost always walking him with the stroller sohe needs to behave. Remember when she us at the vets/boarding kennels i doubt they would bother putting a harness on her so she needs to know how to walk on a normal collar -
I just hope he doesnt sleep on your bed! Just think of him as a tenage boy- that sort of thing is normal
-
Congratulations CW!! I am looking into doing it - probably next year though. Let us know how you go Do you plan to work in the industry after?
-
That's so cute CW!

Oh what a pain - I hate it when people do that! We usually go camping when it is freezing so we tend to avoid others camping on top of us as not many are silly enough to go camping when it is so cold! If I had a dog that was untrustworthy with recall in that situation I would just keep them on lead - the umbilical system that newfsie mentioned - teather him around your waist so you can have two hands to dig your poopie hole or whatever It isn't cruel to keep Charlie on his lead, he will still have a ball and you can relax without worrying that he will disapear. I am sure he will feel better if you are more relaxed about it too - he would have been picking up on your energy and reacting to that also. I know Gypsie gets very stressed when we are stressed. Another idea is to have a crate or pen for him to go in if need be. It will give him a secure safe place to be. We usually spend most of the day walking when we go camping, and the dogs are offlead then, they know they are allowed about 20-30 meteres from us without getting called back. They know to hang around when we are at the campsite because usually there is food involved and they are tuckered out from the walk. Give it another go, I'm sure you and Charlie will enjoy it more Here are my two little ones after 4 days camping and being feral

I like this I think this is a really good idea... i.e Bonnie's Ark I don't have any other sugestions, my brain isn't working tonight!

Oh Darkrai, I'm so sorry Thinking of you and your family
-
+1 I think it will cause more problems in this situation. As lilly said you need to sort out the other issues first.

12 Yr Old Golden Retreiver Coughing Up Blood
~JessyBee~ replied to indigirl's topic in General Dog Discussion
RIP Reg He was lucky to have you and his owner there fighting for him indigirl *hugs* -
Yep, I would bring him inside too I also agree with Nekhbet, he needs mental stimulation too - a walk is great but probbaly not enough for such a smart breed. I started teaching my boy tricks when I was pregnant (thanks Cosmolo ) and it is great for him, he loves it and it's something I can do even if I can't make it for a walk. Pockets had a good point about breaking up his routine (if he has one) I don't have a routine with my dogs, it saves them getting stressed if the think it is 'walk time' or 'food time' and they are not getting what they think they should. Saves stress if you are out at doggy dinner time or it's too haot to walk. GG

hmmmmm sounds lovely! I'm not sure but I know a couple of people who have tried it and it gave their dogs the runs so I would add it in very slowly with their current food :D Let us know how you go!
