Lovin those Shih Tzu names!

There's a Staffy I saw at Glebe Point dog beach last Saturday that plays with rocks instead of balls! My Kelpie and LabX will make the same commotion if they think I'm being stupid and not understanding their demands to play.

The Strangest Thing Just Happened Here
Katdogs replied to Staffyluv's topic in General Dog Discussion
Have you spoken to your neighbours? Are they missing a hacksaw, or have they seen anyone hanging around? Very unsettling, hope it was just a strange one-off. -
T today's photos are amazing, thank you for the collection! Even Maggot looks good! Please post as many as you want. Ps Jodie is almost tired!

Also waiting... Your models were a good as they could manage, without having their dinner!

This sort of behaviour (the instructors and owners, more than the other dogs) is the reason we don't go to obedience club any more. Stevie was the most stable dog around and we were always paired with the most dodgy dogs, and I got sick of her being asked to put up with bad behaviour because they knew she wouldn't react. Stevie first thought it was a big game, but after a few months she was virtually pleading with me not to let them go nuts around her any more! Then one day the instructor totally ignored my warning about the behaviour of a new dog to the class, didn't watch it, and lo and behold the new dog tried to rip apart a regular small dog - so I just don't want to take the chance again with this particular group of volunteer instructors.

Fern And Willow - New Fosters
Katdogs replied to tdierikx's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
Yes, we established Fern is not interested (scared) of cats and loves little boys and men best. It took a while but she finally worked out not to get between a Kelpie and her job, and that little old dogs aren't always for playing with - go with the dog bowing and trying to play bitey-face, even if she's five times your size! Fern is totally gorgeous. -

Sorry T, I thought I'd be home a lot earlier but we had a first aid emergency at work just before I got away. Hopefully another day? -
Fern And Willow - New Fosters

Just after meeting my stepgrandkiddy's birthday present today - a tiny little 9 week old Toy Poodle - I had the pleasure of playing with Fern again. She gallumphs crabwise through the house and yard because her legs are longer than she expects! But she is an elegant looking girl and is getting more confident with other dogs and people. She followed my husband around, stole Jodie's ball, killed Stevie's soft toy (which is ok, it was already very dead) and gave me lovely kisses and cuddles. I really really like this girl, she's going to be a beauty! Unfortunately I couldn't find my cat to introduce them - it's probably just the right time for Fern to learn that cats are tough (Rocky was tucked up in a warm space in our bedroom). Hey TD, bring her over again tomorrow night! She and Stevie might do their play-bows at the same time next time! -
I have no knowledge of this sort of thing, but if the tumour caused the aggression issue a year ago, wouldn't Busta have shown a lot more problems/aggression over this past year? I wonder if the vet did a PM. That would show how long the tumour had been there and what parts of the brain were affected, I'd think? It might help Steve and others with dealing with poor dogs like Busta in the future.

That's very sad. I trust he had a loving happy peaceful cuddly final year.

Somehow this incident came up in a discussion the other day about how dogs recover from trauma. Does anyone know how Busta is going now? Is he still with Steve?

If you're stuck for a background, they'll drape very elegantly over my lounge...

The new black bubs aren't cute at all They're BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

Oh sorry, Petey and Mikey and Jack are all family names for both dogs and people! We have to hyphenate when talking about them - Jack-girl, Jack-boy, Jack-the-dog and Jackie-baby!
-
I met two of the funny munchkins tonight and they do seem to love their food - they do have the smoochiest bellies just perfect for raspberries! Petey is Mr Confidence with strong play drive, and special little Mikey is very pretty and loves people.

Meet Timmy... Latest Foster Puppy

I had the privilege of cuddles with Timmy! He's a lovely little bloke with big fat feet and seemed pretty chilled about strange people (my husband) fussing over him. -

Geeze it's hard on an iPhone when a DOLer changes name! Welcome DD! -
Do you have a furminator? I think it's the weather. My Stevie (GRxLab) has been shedding handfuls, but normally we'd have a couple of months off shedding badly at this time of year. Pers is right too, there's a big change between puppy and adult coat.
