  1. Actually Clyde that was something our vet mentioned, he's happy to take into his airconditioning as many pets as can safely fit on days like yesterday, no charge. Must keep that in mind next hot day if I can't be home.
  2. Stupid people. Our lovely Vet said at 4pm he's already had two emergency revivals of heat-stressed dogs, and sadly one cat that didn't make it. He expects more calls this evening as people get home to pets with not enough shelter, water etc.
  3. Pete answers the phone 'Manager, Puppy Cuddles Department' :) Well done again Team Tapua
  4. I'd like to know the name too, if it's not too much to ask. I take Stevie to a groomer because she's almost managed to escape from mobile dog washers. I'll be asking more carefully about procedure in future.
  5. Note these names are from Portland, Oregon. I think the Australian list would be a little different - probably still lots of Eddies and Bellas, but maybe more Chopper, Axle and Diesel!
  6. I'm glad you clarified that, I was having trouble working out the links. I wonder if the real Ace Dog Supplies is aware of this 'club'? The club is merely a subdomain of the main site, so they would have to be aware of it, there is no way to create a subdomain other than through the primary domain. One is www but the other isn't. Does that mean anything?

  8. There's a strange accent or style to her posts. It's very interesting. Back to the 4wo puppies, have you had any more feedback from the vet, LabRescue? I hope the other pups are going well.
  9. Trying to work out how to transport Stevie in a crate. Hmmm, need a ute, forklift... and then there are the days I need to take two or three dogs!
  10. The theory is 'rubbish' has a nice growly sound to it and is a good word to practice deepening your voice. Sammy hasn't needed it yet but it may not be long. He has to have something in his mouth every second he's not snoring - preferably a toy, or Stevie's ears, but shoes and furniture are next favourite. He likes to run his teeth over everything gently, then if it feels good he'll give it a good crunch!
  11. Are they still promoting Riley the massive dog brought back from Victoria after mauling another dog?
  12. Rubbish bottle is dead We hadn't even used it yet, just put it handy!
  13. He's grown a couple of inches of leg since he arrived - I know this because his belly doesn't get stuck on the edge of the clam shell anymore! TD he's just wrestled the 'rubbish' bottle out of the house into the backyard
  14. Sorry Sammy fans, no photos tonight, I'm not feeling well. Must get some video of him wrestling Stevie though, it's so funny and she's very gentle even though he isn't!
  15. DD this is the whippersnipper photo. Today's new lesson was the circular saw. Sammy ran to investigate the strange noise but when he was very close he went past to a quieter place. Smart boy :)
  16. Cheeky little bugger is not phased by ANYTHING! I put a few panels of puppy pen across doorways to keep him out of a couple of rooms. Normally dogs won't touch them because of the scrapy wire-jangly noise they make when touched. Nope, Sammy just barges through!
  17. Today was a huge day - Stevie played growly-talky-bitey-face with Sammy several times, and kept going back for more! He's exhausted now, and so is she! He's almost an angel, as long as we keep our shoes off the floor :) Sammy has a lovely 'sit' and is able to leave most things when asked (thongs get stuck on his teeth, he apologises). He is just about able to wait for permission to eat but wait there's a butterfly... For a happy little boy of only 9 weeks he has the most amazingly violent dreams Fireworks were no bother at all :)
  18. This is us too. The dogs have some concrete and pebblecrete that never has sun on it, and some shady ancient camellias with deep leaf mulch. The puppy is splashing in the water bowls but can't empty the clamshell yet (and it's under a shade sail thingy we put up in summer). Jodie will keep working her ball when we're home no matter what the temperature, so she's probably better off when we're not home! I don't understand why black Stevie has to spend time baring her belly to the sun no matter the temperature but on hot days it's only a couple of minutes.
  19. Call a vet in the area you are going to and ask them about ticks. I second that. When we went to Moruya the vet there was happy to talk about preventatives before we went, and he knew the people we were staying with and their dogs too I'd use the Advantix a week before and a collar while there (while the dogs aren't actually in the water) but also a thorough check with your fingers and eyes all over, twice a day. Take a very thorough stock of all lumps, tags and moles so you know them before hand. Have metho and tweezers ready just in case (unless there's more modern ideas about removal?). Don't forget to check yourselves as well! Tapua you know your dogs so well, if one of them scratches funny you'll be checking! Don't forget to relax and have fun!
  20. No, thankfully I have a 2-3 seater as well....or at least a tiny bit of one anyway! As soon as I sit down they scramble over one either side and the little squeeze in the middle is all I have Classic
