I was going to say this but of course the good Rev was here quickly.

I wasn't sure whether to put this in Iphonography but it's very much summer here! (And I hope as dog people you won't be too critical of the state of our floor)

I'm guessing this is NOT the sort of pony you broke your back falling off? CUTE!

Dog Hair And Car Upholstery A Lifelong Partnership
Katdogs replied to Kirislin's topic in General Dog Discussion
This works pretty well, when I can be bothered to attack the layers in our car. -
This is like a zombie thread - it will not die!

I agree with this.

Is It The Weather? Hair Everywhere
Katdogs replied to Loving my Oldies's topic in General Dog Discussion
Love my roboking! I think I'm finally getting the knack to using the rake. I can make a whole new dog out of what's coming off Stevie and Jodie, and even Sammy is losing fluff and growing some grown-up coat. Sadly our cat is not going well at the moment and isn't moving around much. She's a short hair calico cat but the fur on her withers has almost felted together When I finally noticed and took a brush to her she has a lot of dry manky skin and not as much meat on her bones as we thought. She's not a cat who likes being touched much, especially since a terrible illness a few years ago. -
A Second Syd Series- Your Suggestions Please
Katdogs replied to Cosmolo's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
I think the barking one is important. How about 'so do you know if your dog barks all day driving the neighbours' dogs crazy too?' Also what Powerlegs said. -
Wow! Amazing that one is just waiting for a home right now! I'd never have imagined that cross! Kelpies can be pretty intense, and dachs aren't exactly chilled. It would be a fairly full-on badger-musterer nature I would think?

Crickets you're a tough cruel woman! Don't you have a cushion so you can sit on the floor? Then the dogs will have a chair each, much fairer.
-
Woohoo! I hope the dogs are in a better place. Hey Chris have you met a dopey Aussie BD yet? I'll pm you!

So sorry about Annie, that's a terrible thing on top of so much other bad stuff. Hugs and strength to you Nic.

Jodie is the initial barker if something is wrong, but she's also the fun police if the others bark to initiate play Bossy kelpie.

Sammy The Anti-gardener And His Big Weekend
Katdogs replied to Katdogs's topic in General Dog Discussion
Sadly Sammy is not a retriever just a greedy thief. He just wants to take things away to chew up, and if we call him back he just leaves whatever it is and comes looking for more excitement. I've been really sick and the weather has been so hot that poor Sam isn't getting the training or attention he needs, but he's had his vacc now and I'm keen to get him out for one-on-one attention. Today's trick was to find his way into a big new bag of Canidae while I took Stevie for a short walk. I'm still a bit zonked and didn't even think about the food in the kitchen. My girls wouldn't dream of stealing it! Of course all the vets were shut but Dr Tracey helped rescue us in my panic. We've restricted his water and not given him any dinner (much to his vocal displeasure) and he's going to be extremely upset when he doesn't get breakfast either! He's soaking up new learning at the moment so I hope I can do this pup justice now. He's so smart and fearless! -
Peter, Janet, Barbara, Colin, jack, George, Pam. And Scamper but he was a Goldie I think.

This would have been great for my ancient cat who hated being caged and taken to the vet. I wish I'd called for a home visit for him. For Maggot most recently, part of his happy farewell was a car ride because he loved them, then a bark at a cheeky puppy because he hated them, then his favourite male vet to visit and stare at trustingly as he finally relaxed without pain. It's comforting there are choices available, even at a very difficult time.

Advice Wanted Re: Problem Dog
Katdogs replied to Everythings Shiny's topic in General Dog Discussion
Sadly, most of these dogs would end up being called 'unrehomable poundies'. It's brilliant when they do find the right job though! Good on you ES for persevering. -
Nic if you have no luck by morning let me know and I'll see if my dad has a contact - he's quite local and knows everyone useful in the area. Probably a bit late now tonight.

How old is she? Might she be suitable for service/army type work? -
Even other Boxers or Labs or Goldies don't play?

Wow! I've seen photos like this before but only in GEO (not sure it still exists). Do you enter the Aus Museum's wildlife photographer comps?

Dog Bitten While In Boarding Kennel
Katdogs replied to Bisart Dobes's topic in General Dog Discussion
That would be enough for me to stop using the kennels anyway. -
Wow, that's nice of him!! I know this vet will charge me, but in the scheme of 'what could be' it will be worth it. You have a terrific vet I think it was day-stay only, not overnighting - that would be boarding rates. But yes, he is a lovely man and really cares.
