I wish our local parks looked that nice! Well done Tapua (and Pete the chief puppy cuddler). Kura is a little 'rounder' than Sammy  -

I'm giving the owners the benefit of the doubt and thinking there must be a truly awful family tragedy or similar to make them leave poor Annie. At her age. Though if I had an ancient lovely and really had to leave her behind, I think I'd give her a big block of chocolate and a BBQ chicken before a visit to or from the favourite vet. But at least with GRR she will be cared for while a future, however long or short, is assessed with love. -
Whereabouts in Sydney, M United? Just wondering, I might have met your friend and his dog.

Sammy The Anti-gardener And His Big Weekend

He's been chewing my spinach since he arrived and the parsley got squished yesterday but today was the first real attack on a pot plant He'd better not keep grabbing at OH's beloved grapevine or teenage frangipani. Lucky he's very cute! Tonight we realised he sticks out nose and tail completely under OH's recliner footstool (his favourite place). He grew another two inches of spine when we weren't watching -
I don't leave Jodie except at the bread shop when I can see up and down the street along the very wide footpath and take the one step into the shop to pay. She's nervy. I leave Stevie sometimes, in a down stay or tied to whatever's convenient, at shop doorways, when I've considered who's in the street, how long I might be, and any other circumstances. She's pretty solid and I keep an eye on her. In fact she keeps an eye on me just in case I walk out with icecream

Actually if he's really smart he'll start packing his bags now. FTAnyH one wiggly black Frangipani-destroyer! -
She's lovely! What a cutie! And how's this bit going for you?

It'll be a big esky to fit Sammy in! He's so smart he'll work out a way to go home with K9angel if she brings the home-made dog treats! -

Supersized Sam is 15kg We were thinking he was a bit skinny last night, but at the vet today for his final vacc and he's almost too much to lift onto the table! He's so shiny and happy though, and doesn't care at all about needles if there's liver near his nose. He was quite upset that a rabbit in a crate in the reception area wouldn't play. He's still squeaky like a puppy when he's sad (leaving Stevie when we drove away) or trying to get a rabbit to play. For anyone coming to the BBQ on Saturday, I'll decide on Friday if the weather forecast is too awful and post something here. Anyone I haven't heard from or forgot to invite, please let me know if you want to come along! -
Special Plea From Canterbury Pound

Bull Breeds in Need facebook page has posted about Oscar and Lulu. Helen at the pound is hoping their new PetRescue account comes through soon and they'll start advertising on that too. Also the local Pet Food Place (where I spend WAY too much money) thinks they might have a customer who would be interested, so I've suggested to Helen that a poster be dropped off there too. Hopefully Oscar and Lulu (and the other couple of dogs currently at Canterbury Pound) will be in new homes or maybe foster care soon. You know they must be good dogs when the pound staff have been charmed! -

Great work T! Such sweethearts, both dogs. I can see why the pound has held them for so long. -

Hey Dogmad, come really early to my Sammy BBQ and we'll go check out Oscar. It's really only two minutes and we'll get TD to come and take some nice photos of him, Lulu and the other puppers! -

Poor old boy. They've tried Gumtree and their network of vet clinics but no interest. I'm so glad our local pound tries so hard! It was a bit scary having a missed call from the pound on my mobile because I panicked and thought something had happened to my dogs -
The ever-wonderful practice manager at Canterbury Pound (Fairford Road Vets) has asked if anyone can help out with Oscar. Oscar has been with them for quite a few months now and is a delight. He's great with people and other dogs. Friendly soul, very sweet, 9 years young. Although the pound staff love him, he needs a nice comfy home and proper family or a person of his own. Needs his vetwork done (although he was vacc on admission) but arrangements can be made for reputable rescue. He had rescue at one stage but was bumped for urgent surrenders, so he's been held over time and time again because he's such a good dog. There's also an older (10yo) Staffy girl in the pound (Lulu) but she hasn't been there quite so long. If anyone can help out these oldies please call Helen on 9709 6844. More details and photos are on the pound's website. Oscar:

Sammy The Anti-gardener And His Big Weekend

Why are people laughing at me TD will witness I had a bumpy bruise on my scone! Sammy trips me over, as well as headbutting. Little monster met about eight children between 5-10yo yesterday. Handled them like a trooper and charmed their parents too. Even the kid scared of dogs wants one now. I didn't explain that the only reason he looked like he was being so good and cuddly was because he was trying to chew a button off the shirt of one of the kids. She has a Lab herself so barely noticed :D -

I've got a lump and a headache. And why do all the toys have the same annoying loud squeak? Puppies are overrated until they sleep, then they're ok. -

I can now testify to the solid bone density of Tapua Labs I was sitting on the ground brushing Jodie when Sammy ran at me, full speed, and forgot to stop. I forgot puppies forget to stop. Crash of foreheads and I think his skull is thicker than mine because I saw stars and he saw a brush to grab. Ouchies -

 I'm just imagining Stevie and Sammy trying to squeeze in under your little table DD They do a very nice Yin/Yang but adult/baby spooning thing but I just never seem to have my phone or camera on me at the time, and as soon as I move they lift their heads. Jodie plays with him too, but she's a bit pricklier about it. She doesn't enjoy walks so we play tennis ball and Sammy gets a gallop chasing her (but he's learnt not to try to get her ball). -

He's definitely growing up fast! He is still a puppy though. Not my puppy, not OH's puppy. He's STEVIE's puppy! They walk very nicely together and wherever she is, he is. I might have to keep an eye on that, but at the moment it's teaching him some manners and produces some very cute pictures :) -
